Objective This study aimed to noninvasively characterize the metabolic alterations in ischemic brain tissues using Z-spectrum-fitted multiparametric chemical exchange saturation transfer-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(CEST-MRI).Methods Three sets of Z-spectrum data with saturation power(B_(1))values of 1.5,2.5,and 3.5µT,respectively,were acquired from 17 patients with ischemic *** contrasts contributing to the Z-spectrum,including fitted amide proton transfer(APT_(fitted)),+2 ppm peak(CEST@2ppm),concomitantly fitted APT_(fitted) and CEST@2ppm(APT&CEST@2ppm),semisolid magnetization transfer contrast(MT),aliphatic nuclear Overhauser effect(NOE),and direct saturation of water(DSW),were fitted with 4 and 5 Lorentzian functions,*** CEST metrics were compared between ischemic lesions and contralateral normal white matter(CNWM),and the correlation between the CEST metrics and the apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)was *** differences in the Z-spectrum metrics under varied B1 values were also *** Ischemic lesions showed increased APTfitted,CEST@2ppm,APT&CEST@2ppm,NOE,and DSW as well as decreased ***&CEST@2ppm,MT,and DSW showed a significant correlation with ADC[APT&CEST@2ppm at the 3 B_(1) values:R=0.584/0.467/0.551;MT at the 3 B_(1) values:R=−0.717/−0.695/−0.762(4-parameter fitting),R=−0.734/−0.711/−0.785(5-parameter fitting);DSW of 4-/5-parameter fitting:R=0.794/0.811(2.5µT),R=0.800/0.790(3.5µT)].However,the asymmetric analysis of amide proton transfer(APT_(asym))could not differentiate the lesions from CNWM and showed no correlation with ***,the Z-spectrum contrasts varied with B_(1).Conclusion The Z-spectrum-fitted multiparametric CEST-MRI can comprehensively detect metabolic alterations in ischemic brain tissues.

Optimization on crystallization process of the magnetic core lysozyme

The continuous growth of the biomedical market highlights the significance of improvement in the ef-ficiency of batch production for protein drug ***,we investigated the effect of polymer-modified Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles on lysozyme(Lys)crystallization at different conditions,using function-alized Fe_(3)O_(4) magnetic nanoparticles(Polymer C@Fe_(3)O_(4))as nucleation *** study revealed that the surface charge density of Polymer C@Fe_(3)O_(4) was highest at a modification mass ratio of Fe_(3)O_(4) to Polymer C is 8∶*** ratio facilitates the augmentation of electrostatic interaction and the promotion of *** adding 15%of the PolymerC@Fe_(3)O_(4) prepared from Fe_(3)O_(4) with an average particle size of 150 nm,the magnetic core lysozyme(M-Lys)crystals with an average particle size of 11.08μm,narrow size distribution,and regular morphology were obtained in a yield of 82.42%within 60 min.

surfactant-assisted crystallization of lysozyme and its mechanism

surfactants were used to assist in the crystallization of *** types of surfactants with different structures(sodium dodecyl sulfate,cetyltrimethylammonium bromide,or betaine hydrochloride[BH])were *** study indicated that three surfactants were all capable of shortening the crystallization induction time of lysozyme,with BH inducing the shortest crystallization induction time(t=1 min)and the largest crystal size(37μm).The molecular interactions among each of the three surfactants aforementioned and lysozyme were also investigated by *** was found that hydrogen bonding dominantly acted between the carboxyl structure of the surfactant BH and the lysozyme,which produced the most favorable conformation for the self-assembly of lysozyme(promote lysozyme orderly aggregation and shorten the crystallization induction time).On this basis,the mechanism of surfactant-promoted lysozyme crystallization was proposed.

Objective This study aimed to understand the epidemic status and phylogenetic relationships of rotavirus group A(RVA)in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province,*** This study included individuals aged 28 days–85 years.A total of 706 stool samples from patients with acute gastroenteritis collected between January 2019 and January 2020 were analyzed for 17 causative pathogens,including RVA,using a Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel,followed by genotyping,virus isolation,and complete sequencing to assess the genetic diversity of *** The overall RVA infection rate was 14.59%(103/706),with an irregular epidemiological *** proportion of co-infection with RVA and other pathogens was 39.81%(41/103).Acute gastroenteritis is highly prevalent in young children aged 0–1 year,and RVA is the key pathogen circulating in patients 6–10 months of age with diarrhea.G9P[8](58.25%,60/103)was found to be the predominant genotype in the RVA strains,and the 41 RVA-positive strains that were successfully sequenced belonged to three different RVA genotypes in the phylogenetic *** analysis showed that gene reassortment events,selection pressure,codon usage bias,gene polymorphism,and post-translational modifications(PTMs)occurred in the G9P[8]and G3P[8]*** This study provides molecular evidence of RVA prevalence in the Pearl River Delta region of China,further enriching the existing information on its genetics and evolutionary characteristics and suggesting the emergence of genetic *** the surveillance of genotypic changes and gene reassortment in RVA strains is essential for further research and a better understanding of strain variations for further vaccine development.

The accurate estimation of parameters is the premise for establishing a high-fidelity simulation model of a valve-controlled cylinder *** test data are easily obtained,but it is challenging to emulate actual loads in the research on parameter estimation of valve-controlled cylinder *** the actual load information contained in the operating data of the control valve,its acquisition remains *** paper proposes a method that fuses bench test and operating data for parameter estimation to address the aforementioned *** proposed method is based on Bayesian theory,and its core is a pool fusion of prior information from bench test and operating ***,a system model is established,and the parameters in the model are ***,the bench and operating data of the system are ***,the model parameters and weight coefficients are estimated using the data fusion ***,the estimated effects of the data fusion method,Bayesian method,and particle swarm optimisation(PSO)algorithm on system model parameters are *** research shows that the weight coefficient represents the contribution of different prior information to the parameter estimation *** effect of parameter estimation based on the data fusion method is better than that of the Bayesian method and the PSO *** load complexity leads to a decrease in model accuracy,highlighting the crucial role of the data fusion method in parameter estimation studies.

Boosting sodium-storage properties of hierarchical Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)@C micro-flower cathodes by tiny Cr doping:The effect of“four ounces moving a thousand pounds”

Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)(NVP),as a great potential cathode candidate for Na-ion batteries(NIBs),has attracted enormous interest due to its three-dimensional(3D)large open framework for convenient Na+transport,yet its practical application is still limited by its inferior electron conductivity and sluggish Na+diffusion ***,the tiny Cr doped hierarchical NVP micro-flower cathodes(i.e.,Na_(3)V_(2-x)Crx(PO_(4))_(3)@C,x≤0.1),which are self-assembled with single-crystal nanoflake subunits in-situ coated with carbon nano-shell,are designed and fabricated via a scalable *** optimized cathode,i.e.,Na_(3)V_(1.94)Cr_(0.06)(PO_(4))_(3)@C(NVCP-6),was endowed with more electro-active Na(2)sites and higher electronic/ionic conductivity for efficient sodium *** from these competitive merits,the NVCP-6,when evaluated as a cathode towards NIBs,exhibits an ultrahigh-rate capability of 99.8 mAh·g^(-1)at 200 C and superior stability of 82.2%over 7300 cycles at 50 ***,the NVCP-6 based full NIBs display remarkable electrochemical properties in terms of both high-rate capacities and long-duration cycling properties at different temperatures(-20–50°C).The contribution,i.e.,the design of“four ounces can move a thousand pounds”,here will promote the practical industrial application of NVP towards advanced NIBs.

●AIM:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of scleral buckling for the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)using a novel foldable capsular buckle(FCB).●METHODS:This was a series of case observation *** patients(18 eyes)who visited our ophthalmology department between August 2020 and August 2022 and were treated for RRD with scleral buckling using FCB were *** procedure was similar to conventional scleral buckling,while a balloon-like FCB was placed onto the retinal break with balanced salt solution filling for a broad,external indentation instead of the silicone *** retinal reattachment rate,best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP),refractive dioptre and astigmatism degree,and complications were evaluated and recorded.●REsuLTS:There were 7 males and 11 females aged *** average time course of RRD was 12d,ranging from *** retinal break was located in the superior quadrants in 8 eyes and in the inferior quadrants in 10 eyes,with macula-off detachments in 12 *** patients were followed-up for at least *** final retinal reattachment rate was 100%.The BCVA was significantly improved compared with the baseline(Pchange in refractive dioptre or astigmatism degree at each follow-up(all P>0.05).Three patients had transiently high IOPs within one week after *** diplopia occurred in 5 patients after surgery and then disappeared after the balloon fluid was removed.●CONCLUSION:The success rate of FCB scleral buckling for RRD is *** procedure can be expected to be applied in new,uncomplicated cases of RRD.
