Environmentally friendly degradable sensors with both hazardous gases and pressure efficient sensing capabilities are highly desired for various promising applications,including environmental pollution monitoring/prevention,wisdom medical,wearable smart devices,and artificial ***,the transient gas and pressure sensors based on only identical sensing material that concurrently meets the above detection needs have not been ***,we present transient all-MXene NO_(2) and pressure sensors employing three-dimensional porous crumpled MXene spheres prepared by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technology as the sensing layer,accompanied with water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol substrates embedded with patterned MXene *** gas sensor achieves a ppb-level of highly selective NO_(2) sensing,with a response of up to 12.11%at 5 ppm NO_(2) and a detection range of 50 ppb-5 ppm,while the pressure sensor has an extremely wide linear pressure detection range of 0.14-22.22 kPa and fast response time of 34 *** parallel,all-MXene NO_(2) and pressure sensors can be rapidly degraded in medical H_(2)O_(2) within 6 *** work provides a new avenue toward environmental monitoring,human physiological signal monitoring,and recyclable transient electronics.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and concerns about several other pandemics in the 21st century have attracted extensive global *** emerging infectious diseases threaten global public health and raise urgent studies on unraveling the underlying mechanisms of their transmission from animals to *** numerous works have intensively discussed the cross-species and endemic barriers to the occurrence and spread of emerging infectious diseases,both types of barriers play synergistic roles in wildlife *** far,there is still a lack of a complete understanding of viral diffusion,migration,and transmission in ecosystems from a macro *** this review,we conceptualize the ecological barrier that represents the combined effects of cross-species and endemic barriers for either the natural or intermediate hosts of *** comprehensively discuss the key influential factors affecting the ecological barrier against viral transmission from virus hosts in their natural habitats into human society,including transmission routes,contact probability,contact frequency,and viral *** the significant impacts of human activities and global industrialization on the strength of the ecological barrier,ecological barrier deterioration driven by human activities is critically analyzed for potential *** climate change can trigger and expand the range of emerging infectious diseases,and human disturbances promote higher contact frequency and greater transmission *** addition,globalization drives more transmission routes and produces new high-risk regions in city *** review aims to provide a new concept for and comprehensive evidence of the ecological barrier blocking the transmission and spread of emerging infectious *** also offers new insights into potential strategies to protect the ecological barrier and reduce the wide-ranging risks of emerging infectious diseases to public health.

Due to the uplift of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau （QTP）, the cryosphere gradually developed on the higher mountain summits after the Neocene, becoming widespread during the Late Quaternary. During this time, permafrost on the QTP experienced repeated expansion and degradation. Based on the remains and cross-correlation with other proxy records such as those from glacial landforms, ice-core and paleogeography, the evolution and changes of permafrost and environmental changes on the QTP during the past 150,000 years were deduced and are presented in this *** least four obvious cycles of the extensive and intensive development, expansion and decay of permafrost occurred during the periods of 150-130, 80-50, 30-14 and after 10.8 ka B.P.. Ehiring the Holocene, fluctuating climatic environ-ments affected the permafrost on the QTP, and the peripheral mountains experienced six periods of discernible permafrost changes：（1） Stable development of permafrost in the early Holocene （10.8 to 8.5-7.0 ka B.P.）; （2） Intensive permafrost degradation during the Holocene Megathermal Period （HMP, from 8.5-7.0 to 4.0-3.0 ka B.P.）; （3） Permafrost expansion during the early Neoglacial period （ca. 4,000-3,000 to 1,000 a B.P.）; （4） Relative degradation during the Medieval Warm Period （MWP,from 1,000 to 500 a B.R）; （5） Expansion of permafrost during the Little Ice Age （LIA,from 500 to 10.a B.P.）; （6） Observed and predicted degradation of permafrost during the 20th and 21st century. Each period differed greatly in paleoclimate, paleoenvironment, and permafrost distribution, thickness, areal extent, and ground temperatures, as well as in the development of periglacial phenomena. Statistically, closer dating of the onset permafrost formation, more identi-fication of permafrost remains with richer proxy information about paleoenvironment, and more dating information enable higher resolution for paleo-permafrost reconstruction. Van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)realized by vertically stacking of different two-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising candidate for tunneling devices because of their atomically clean and lattice mismatch-free interfaces in which different layers are separated by the vdW *** gaps can provide an ideal electric modulation environment on the vdWH band structures and,on the other hand,can also impede the electron tunneling behavior because of large tunneling ***,through first-principles calculations,we find that the electrically modulated tunneling behavior is immune to the interlayer interaction,keeping a direct band-to-band tunneling manner even the vdWHs have been varied to the indirect semiconductor,which means that the tunneling probability can be promoted through the vdW gap *** transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures as examples and normal strains as the gap reducing strategy,a maximum shrinking of 33%is achieved without changing the direct tunneling manner,resulting in a tunneling probability promotion of more than 45 ***,the enhanced interlayer interaction by the strains will boost the stability of the vdWHs at the lateral direction,preventing the interlayer displacement *** is expected that our findings provide perspectives in improving the electric behaviors of the vdWH devices.

患者男,66岁,因头面、躯干、四肢红斑、丘疹伴痒30年、加重3年就诊。患者30年前因日晒后颈部及双上肢出现散在红斑、针尖大小丘疹,偶感瘙痒,每遇日光照射后病情反复,未行系统治疗;20年前日晒后上述症状反复且加重,瘙痒加剧,遂至当地一家医院就诊,经组织病理检查确诊为“慢性光化性皮炎”,予口服抗组胺药及外用药膏(具体不详),治疗后瘙痒明显缓解,但停药后瘙痒反复。病情多次反复发作,长期间断口服抗组胺药物及外用糖皮质激素(简称激素)软膏控制瘙痒。

Influence of HEPES buffer on the local pH and formation of surface layer during in vitro degradation tests of magnesium in DMEM

The human body is a buffered environment where p H is effectively maintained. HEPES is a biological buffer often used to mimic the buffering activity of the body in in vitro studies on the degradation behavior of magnesium. However, the influence of HEPES on the degradation behavior of magnesium in the DMEM pseudo-physiological solution has not yet been determined. The research aimed at elucidating the degradation mechanisms of magnesium in DMEM with and without HEPES. The morphologies and compositions of surface layers formed during in vitro degradation tests for 15–3600 s were characterized. The effect of HEPES on the electrochemical behavior and corrosion tendency was determined by performing electrochemical tests. HEPES indeed retained the local p H, leading to intense intergranular/interparticle corrosion of magnesium made from powder and an increased degradation rate. This was attributed to an interconnected network of cracks formed at the original powder particle boundaries and grain boundaries in the surface layer, which provided pathways for the corrosive medium to interact continuously with the internal surfaces and promoted further dissolution. Surface analysis revealed significantly reduced amounts of precipitated calcium phosphates due to the buffering activity of HEPES so that magnesium became less well protected in the buffered environment.

Borehole stability in naturally fractured reservoirs luring production tests

Based on the plane of weakness theory, a model for predicting borehole stability in fractured reservoirs under different stress states was estiblisted and the equations for solving borehole stability were developed. The minimum downhole pressures required to maintain borehole stability under different natural fracture occurrences were calculated by using the data from a well in the Tazhong （central Tarim） area, Tarim Basin, west China. Several conclusions were drawn for naturally fractured reservoirs with a dip angle from less than 10° to greater than 30°. Application in three wells in the Tazhong area indicates that this model is practically useful.

Purpose:To develop an automated classification system using a machine learning classifier to distinguish clinically unaffected eyes in patients with keratoconus from a normal control population based on a combination of Scheimpflug camera images and ultra-high-resolution optical coherence tomography(UHR-OCT)imaging ***:A total of 121 eyes from 121 participants were classified by 2 cornea experts into 3 groups:normal(50 eyes),with keratoconus(38 eyes)or with subclinical keratoconus(33 eyes).All eyes were imaged with a Scheimpflug camera and *** morphological features were extracted from the imaging data.A neural network was used to train a model based on these features to distinguish the eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal ***’s score was used to rank the differentiable power of each *** receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were calculated to obtain the area under the ROC curves(AUCs).Results:The developed classification model used to combine all features from the Scheimpflug camera and UHR-OCT dramatically improved the differentiable power to discriminate between normal eyes and eyes with subclinical keratoconus(AUC=0.93).The variation in the thickness profile within each individual in the corneal epithelium extracted from UHR-OCT imaging ranked the highest in differentiating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal ***:The automated classification system using machine learning based on the combination of Scheimpflug camera data and UHR-OCT imaging data showed excellent performance in discriminating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal *** epithelial features extracted from the OCT images were the most valuable in the discrimination *** classification system has the potential to improve the differentiable power of subclinical keratoconus and the efficiency of keratoconus screening.
