Distributed acoustic sensing(DAS)technology has been a promising tool in various ***,the large size and relatively high cost of DAS equipment composed of discrete devices restrict its further popularization to some degree,and the photonic integration technology offers a potential *** this paper,we demonstrate an integrated interrogator for DAS on the silicon-on-insulator(SOI)*** design of the chip revolves around a Mach–Zehnder modulator(MZM)transmitter and a dual-quadrature and dualpolarization coherent *** integrated interrogator supports multiple DAS schemes,including the time-gated digital optical frequency domain reflectometry(TGD-OFDR),which is adopted for system performance evaluation.59■strain resolution in 12.1km sensing fiber with 1.14 m spatial resolution(SR)is ***,along 49.0 km sensing fiber,81■strain resolution with 3.78 m SR is *** results show that the integrated interrogator has comparable performance to the discrete DAS *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first dedicated on-chip DAS interrogator,which validates the effectiveness of the blend of photonics integration and DAS technology.

Crystal polymers or liquid crystal elastomers undergo a phase transition that results in a change in the corresponding optical properties,which has the potential to be applied in areas such as information encryption and *** utilization of these materials for patterning purposes requires different phase transition ***,once prepared,altering the phase transition temperature of them presents significant ***,a poly(oxime-ester)(POE)network is developed to achieve high-resolution and multilevel patterning by photo-induced *** as-prepared POE exhibits the ability to transition from an opaque state to a transparent state under temperature stimuli,with the transition temperature and kinetics dependent on UV light exposure ***,complex patterns and information can be encrypted through different selective regional exposure time and decrypted under specific temperature or cooling ***,we illustrate an example of temporal communication,where cooling time or temperature serves as the encoded *** research expands the application scope of advanced encryption materials,showcasing the potential of POE in dynamic information encryption and decryption processes.

Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous Hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.

Association networks are widely applied for the prediction of bacterial interactions in studies of human gut ***,the experimental validation of the predicted interactions is challenging due to the complexity of gut microbiomes and the limited number of cultivated *** this study,we addressed this challenge by integrating in vitro time series network(TSN)associations and cocultivation of TSN taxon *** samples were collected and used for cultivation and enrichment of gut microbiome on YCFA agar plates for 13 *** cells were harvested for DNA extraction and metagenomic sequencing.A total of 198 metagenome-assembled genomes(MAGs)were *** dynamics of bacteria growing on the YCFA agar were used to infer microbial association *** experimentally validate the interactions of taxon pairs in networks,we selected 24 and 19 bacterial strains from this study and from the previously established human gut microbial biobank,respectively,for pairwise *** co-culture experiments revealed that most of the interactions between taxa in networks were identified as neutralism(51.67%),followed by commensalism(21.67%),amensalism(18.33%),competition(5%)and exploitation(3.33%).Genome-centric analysis further revealed that the commensal gut bacteria(helpers and beneficiaries)might interact with each other via the exchanges of amino acids with high biosynthetic costs,short-chain fatty acids,and/or *** also validated 12 beneficiaries by adding 16 additives into the basic YCFA medium and found that the growth of 66.7%of these strains was significantly *** approach provides new insights into the gut microbiome complexity and microbial interactions in association *** work highlights that the positive relationships in gut microbial communities tend to be overestimated,and that amino acids,short-chain fatty acids,and vitamins are contributed to the positive relationships.

Correlation Analysis of the Results of Double Fluorescence(AO/PI) Staining and Clinical Outcomes

Objective To estimate the predictive value of double fluorescence [acridine orange （AO）/propidium iodide （PI）] staining results for fertilization rate and clinical outcomes and analyze the correlation between the results of AO/P1 staining and sperm apoptosis. Methods A prospective study was carried out, 235 infertile couples remedied using traditional in vitro fertilization （IVF） were included. Semen collected from 235 patients were stained by fluorescence dye, AO and PL at the same time the spermatozoa apoptosis rate was calculated by using flow cytometry to detect the rate of Annexin V＋/ PI- . The result of fluorescence was divided into 3 groups as green （G）, yellow （Y） and red （R） according to the color of fluorescence. The correlation between the percent of the 3 colors and clinical outcomes and spermatozoa apoptosis rate was evaluated. Results Significant negative correlation was observed between the percentage of Y and fertilization rate （r= -0.42, P=0.04）, no significant correlation was observed between the percentage of G, R and fertilization rate. The percentage of G, Y, R was not significantly different between pregnant patients and non-pregnant patients, respectiw,ly, while the percentage of Y was significant different between miscarriage patients and liveborn patients （r=0.6L P=0.01） and no significant difference exist in the percentage of G and R between liveborn patients and miscarriage patients. There was a significant positive correlation between the percentage of Y and the rate of Annexin V＋/ PI （r=0.53, P=0.04）, and no significant correlation was shown between the percentage of G, R and the rate of Annexin V＋/ PI-.Conclusion The percentage of yellow group of double fluorescence （AO/PI） staining will affect the fertilization rate and the miscarriage rate, and this group of spermatozoa may be connected with the spermatozoa apoptosis.

BACKGROUND Over 90%of rectal cancer patients develop low anterior resection syndrome(LARS)after sphincter-preserving *** current globally recognized evaluation method has many drawbacks and its subjectivity is too strong,which hinders the research and treatment of *** To evaluate the anorectal function after colorectal cancer surgery by quantifying the index of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)defecography,and pathogenesis of *** We evaluated 34 patients using the standard LARS score,and a new LARS evaluation index was established using the dynamic images of MRI defecography to verify the LARS *** In the LARS score model,there were 10(29.41%)mild and 24(70.58%)severe cases of *** comparison of defecation rate between the two groups was 29.36±14.17%versus 46.83±18.62%(P=0.004);and MRI-rectal compliance(MRI-RC)score was 3.63±1.96 versus 7.0±3.21(P=0.001).Severe and mild LARS had significant differences using the two evaluation *** was a significant negative correlation between LARS and MRI-RC score(Phey had a negative correlation with defecation rate(P=0.028).CONCLUSION MRI defecography and standard LARS score can both be used as an evaluation index to study the pathogenesis of LARS.

Effect of Spermatozoa Apoptosis on the Clinical Outcomes with Human in vitro Fertilization

Objective To analyze the effect of spermatozoa apoptosis on the clinical outcomes during in vitro Fertilization （IVF-ET）. Methods A prospective analysis was carried out, 519 infertile couples were divided into 3 groups according to the clinical outcomes with IVF, including pregnancy and birth （liveborn group）, pregnancy but abortion （miscarriage group）, failure to pregnancy （failure group）. Spermatozoa collected from 519 male partners were processed through density gradient centrifugation （DGC） and swim-up and the apoptosis of the spermatozoa, in ejaculated/processed semen, were evaluated using flow cytometry by determining the levels of disruption of mitochondrial membrane potential （d-MMP） and activation of caspase-3（CP3）Results For ejaculated semen, apoptosis was significantly different among .4 groups individually, the result was as follows： liveborn group 〈 failure group 〈 miscarriage group （P〈0.05）. For processed semen, miscarriage had the highest apoptosis level （P〈0.05）, and there was no significant difference between liveborn group and failure group （P〉0.05）. Compared with the d-MMP, the activation of CP3, either in ejaculated or processed semen, showed more powerful predictive value for miscarriage other than liveborn and failure. The cutoff value of CP3 in ejaculated semen was 42.0%, with sensitivity： 0.931, specificity： *** The level of apoptosis of spermatozoa played a strongly impact on the clinical outcomes with IVF and the activation of CP3 in ejaculated semen possessed a high predictive value for miscarriage.

Regular TiN is harmful to the toughness of steel,and its shape and size need to be *** the behavior of TiN precipitation on CeAlO_(3) surfaces is critical for controlling the morphology and formation process of CeAlO_(3)–TiN composite inclusions in the *** results showed that TiN had a square morphology on the CeAlO3 surface,and electron backscatter diffraction phase identification results revealed the orientation relationship between CeAlO_(3) and TiN as follows:(001)_(CeAlO_(3))//(110)_(TiN),(100)_(CeAlO_(3))/(001)_(TiN),and[010]_(CeAlO_(3))/[110]_(TiN).The CeAlO3 crystal structure was studied using the first-principles calculation method,and the adsorption and growth process of TiN on the CeAlO_(3) surface were investigated from the atomic *** calculation results indicate that there is no metallic bonding present in the CeAlO_(3) *** the low-index crystal planes of CeAlO_(3),the(110)planes terminated with O and CeAlO have the highest and lowest surface energies,respectively,with values of 0.373 and 0.051 eV/Å^(2).On the high surface energy plane of CeAlO_(3),the TiN atomic permutation structure is consistent with the arrangement of Ti and N atoms in TiN(100)or(110).For the low surface energy plane of CeAlO_(3),the Ti and N atoms are arranged in a ring-like structure.
