Storage time affects the level and diagnostic efficacy of plasma biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases

Several promising plasma biomarker proteins,such as amyloid-β(Aβ),tau,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein,are widely used for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative ***,little is known about the long-term stability of these biomarker proteins in plasma samples stored at-80°*** aimed to explore how storage time would affect the diagnostic accuracy of these biomarkers using a large *** samples from 229 cognitively unimpaired individuals,encompassing healthy controls and those experiencing subjective cognitive decline,as well as 99 patients with cognitive impairment,comprising those with mild cognitive impairment and dementia,were acquired from the Sino Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Decline *** samples were stored at-80°C for up to 6 years before being used in this *** results showed that plasma levels of Aβ42,Aβ40,neurofilament light chain,and glial fibrillary acidic protein were not significantly correlated with sample storage ***,the level of total tau showed a negative correlation with sample storage ***,in individuals without cognitive impairment,plasma levels of total protein and tau phosphorylated protein threonine 181(p-tau181)also showed a negative correlation with sample storage *** was not observed in individuals with cognitive ***,we speculate that the diagnostic accuracy of plasma p-tau181 and the p-tau181 to total tau ratio may be influenced by sample storage ***,caution is advised when using these plasma biomarkers for the identification of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Alzheimer's ***,in cohort studies,it is important to consider the impact of storage time on the overall results.

Study on biomass catalytic pyrolysis for production of bio-gasoline by on-line FTIR

The pyrolysis of biomass is a promising way for production of bio-gasoline if the stability and quality problems of the bio-crudeoil can be solved by catalytic cracking and reforming. In this paper, an on-line infrared spectrum was used to study the characteristics of catalytic pyrolysis with the following preliminary results. The removal of C=O of organic acid is more difficult than that of aldehydes and ketones. HUSY/γ-Al2O3 and REY/γ-Al2O3 catalysts exhibited better deoxygenating activities while HZSM-5/γ-Al2O3 catalyst exhibited preferred selectivities for production of iso-alkanes and aromatics. Finally, possible mechanisms of biomass catalytic pyrolysis are discussed as well.

Prediction of protein content in rice using a near-infrared imaging system as diagnostic technique

The aim of this research was to determine the rice protein content utilizing a NIR imaging *** developed imaging system utilized a NIR camera which installed automatically exchanged filters with the wavelength range from 870 nm to 1014 *** liner regression(MLR),partial least square regression(PLSR),and artificial neural network(ANN)models were employed as data analysis methods for 6.18%-9.43%rice protein detections within both the NIR imaging system and commercial NIRS.A total of 180 rice samples were used in this study,of which 120 random samples were selected as a calibration set for the MLR and PLSR ***,for establishing the back-propagation ANN model,the same 120 samples were divided into two parts,80 samples were used for network training and the other 40 were established as the monitoring *** compare with the results of MLR,PLSR,and ANN models,the remaining 60 of the total 180 samples were established as the validation *** an MLR linear regression model composed of five wavelengths;the NIR imaging system successfully detected rice protein *** predicting results of r_(val)^(2) and SEP were 0.769 and 0.294%,*** PLSR model,utilizing the imaging system obtained the results of r_(val)^(2)=0.782,and SEP=0.274%within the wavelength range from 870 nm to 1014 *** significant wavelengths selected by the MLR model were the same as the input data of the ANN model,and the prediction results were r_(val)^(2)=0.806,and SEP=0.266%.The prediction results indicated that the developed NIR imaging system has the advantages of simple,convenient operation,and high detection accuracy as well as it presents commercial potential in non-destructive detection of rice protein content.

Cs_(2)TiI_(6):A potential lead-free all-inorganic perovskite material for ultrahigh-performance photovoltaic cells and alpha-particle detection

The lead contamination and long-term stability are the two important problems limiting the commercialization of organic–inorganic lead halide *** this study,through an innovative multi-scale simulation strategy based on the first-principle calculations coupling with drift-diffusion model and Monte Carlo method,a new discovery is shed on the vacancy-ordered double perovskite Cs_(2)TiI_(6),a potential nontoxic and stable perovskite material for high-performance solar cell andα-particle *** excellent photon absorption character and ultrahigh carrier mobility(μn=2.26×10^(4)cm^(2)/Vs,μp=7.38×10^(3)cm^(2)/Vs)of Cs_(2)TiI_(6)induce ultrahigh power conversion efficiency(PCE)for both single-junction solar cell(22.70%)and monolithic all-perovskite tandem solar cell(26.87%).Moreover,the outstanding device performance can be remained even in high energy charge particle detection(α-particle)with excellent charge collection efficiency(CCE=99.2%)and mobility-lifetime product(μτh=1×10^(–3)cm^(2)/V).Furthermore,to our surprise,the solar cell andα-particle detector based on Cs_(2)TiI_(6)material are able to withstand ultrahigh fluence proton beam up to 1013 and 1015 p/cm2 respectively,which strongly suggests that semiconductor devices based on Cs_(2)TiI_(6)material are able to apply in the *** multi-scale simulation connecting from material to device reveals that Cs_(2)TiI_(6)perovskite has the great potential for photovoltaic cells,α-particle detection and even their space application.

Consideration of green intelligent steel processes and narrow window stability control technology on steel quality

In order to promote the intelligent transformation and upgrading of the steel industry, intelligent technology features based on the current situation and challenges of the steel industry are discussed in this paper. Based on both domestic and global research, functional analysis, reasonable positioning, and process optimization of each aspect of steel making are expounded. The current state of molten steel quality and implementation under narrow window control is analyzed. A method for maintaining stability in the narrow window control technology of steel quality is proposed, controlled by factors including composition, temperature, time, cleanliness, and consumption(raw material). Important guidance is provided for the future development of a green and intelligent steel manufacturing process.

Phosphorescent Zwitterionic Pt(Ⅱ) N-Heterocyclic Allenylidene Complexes: IVletallophilicity and Ionic Self-Assembly

Three zwitterionic and one cationic N-heterocyclic allenylidene(NHA)platinum(Ⅱ)complexes were prepared and characterized via NMR,HR-MS;and FT-IR,*** crystal structure analyses revealed the various intermolecular packing modes vio multiple noncovalent interactions(short Pt…Pt contacts,π-π interactions).The spectroscopic data demonstrated stability of the allenylidene metal complexes is largely ascribed to the resonance structures of zwitterionic *** zwitterionic and analogue cationic NHA Pt(Ⅱ)monomers showed similar steady-state photoluminescent properties in dilute fluid *** efficient solid-state phosphorescent emissions(quantum yield up to 20%)of these NHA Pt(Ⅱ)complexes are correlated with their dispersive metallophilic Pt…Pt ***-MS spectrum indicated zwitterionic monomers can self-assemble into oligomers,such as dimer,trimer and even hexamer in a mixed H_(2)0/Me0H ***,molecular aggregates showed variable red-shifted phosphorescence by manipulating the concentration,temperature,time and solvent in the self-assembly of zwitterionic NHA platinum(Ⅱ)complex.

Efficient electroreduction of nitrate via enriched active phases on copper-cobalt oxides

Electrochemical conversion of nitrate(NO_(3)~-) to ammonia(NH_(3)) can target two birds with one stone well, in NO_(3)^(-)-containing sewage remediation and sustainable NH_(3) production. However, single metalbased catalysts are difficult to drive high-efficient NO_(3)~- removal due to the multi-electron transfer ***, we present a tandem catalyst with simple structure, Cu-Co binary metal oxides(Cu-Co-O), by engineering intermediate phases as catalytic active species for NO_(3)~- conversion. Electrochemical evaluation,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and in situ Raman spectra together suggest that the newly-generated Cu-based phases was prone to NO_(3)~- to NO_(2)~- conversion, then NO_(2)~- was reduced to NH_(3) on Co-based species. At an applied potential of -1.1 V vs. saturated calomel electrode, the Cu-Co-O catalyst achieved NO_(3)~- -N removal of 90% and NH_(3) faradaic efficiency of 81% for 120 min in 100 m L of 50 mg/L NO_(3)~- -N,consuming only 0.69 k Wh/mol in a two-electrode system. This study provides a facile and efficient engineering strategy for developing high-performance catalysts for electrocatalytic nitrate conversion.

In this paper,three new polyoxometalates(POM)-based metal–organic complexes constructed from a new semi-rigid organic ligand N,N'-bis(4-pyrimidinecarboxamido)-1,2-cyclohexane(4-bpmah)H_(2)[Cu(4-bpmah)_(2)(SiMo_(12)O_(40))(H_(2)O)_(2)]·2H_(2)O(1),H[Cu(4-bpmah)_(2)(PMo_(12)O_(4)0)(H_(2)O)_(2)]·2H_(2)O(2)and[Cu(4-bpmah)(H_(2)O)_(2)]·[Cu_(2)(TeMo_(6)O_(24))(H_(2)O)_(10)]·4H_(2)O(3)were synthesized by hydrothermal *** crystal X-ray analyses showed that complexes 1 and 2 were isostructural,in which the isolated Keggin-type[SiMo1_(2)O_(40)]^(4–)/[PMo_(12)O_(40)]^(3–)anions and[Cu(4-bpmah)_(2)(H_(2)O)2]^(2n+)units were expanded into 3D supramolecular structures through hydrogen bond *** complex 3,the 1D[Cu(4-bpmah)(H_(2)O)_(2)]^(2n+)metal–organic chains and isolated[Cu_(2)(TeMo_(6)O_(24))(H_(2)O)_(10)]^(2n–)units were expanded into a 3D supramolecular framework by the hydrogen bond *** this paper,carbon cloth working electrodes composited by the title complexes(1/CC,2/CC and 3/CC)were prepared and used as electrodes for *** performance of supercapacitors as well as the influence of electrolyte solution and title complexes quality load on the performance of supercapacitors were ***,the electrochemistry and electrocatalytic behaviors of complexes 1–3 bulk-modified carbon paste electrodes(1-CPE,2-CPE and 3-CPE)toward the reduction of KBrO_(3),KNO_(2),Cr(Ⅵ),as well as their sensing behaviors on Cr(Ⅵ)were investigated.

Surface Properties and Hydrogen Bonds of Mono-functional Polybenzoxazines with Different N-substituents

A series of mono-functional benzoxazine monomers with different N-substituents were synthesized from phenol, formaldehyde, and various amines （ammonia, methylamine, n-butylamine, dodecylamine）, named P-am, P-m, P-b, and P-da, respectively. The surface properties of these polybenzoxazine films were proven by contact angle measurements. The hydrogen bond network of the polybenzoxazine systems was studied using the FTIR spectra. And the results showed that the surface free energy increased with increasing the fraction of intermolecular hydrogen bonding when the N-substituent was an alkyl chain. However, the rule was not suitable when the N-substituent was H. That was because there was one more kind of intramolecular hydrogen bond in the poly（P-am）. Based on these findings, we proposed that both the N-substituent alkyl group and the fraction of intermolecular hydrogen bonding had effects on the surface free energy.

Quark Condensate in the Strange Matter

In a nonlinear chiral SU(3) framework, we investigate the quark condensate in the strange matter including and Λ, making use of chiral symmetry spontaneous breaking Lagrangian and mean-field approximation. The results show that the chiral symmetry is restored partially when the strange matter density increases and that plays a very important role in the strange matter which may approach the constituents of the neutron stars. In addition, we can find that the strange matter density where the π-condensate emerges leads to the ratio of the nucleon number to baryon number.
