Two tribranched chromophores,1,3,5-triazine as electron deficient core,9,9-dimethylfluorene asπ-conjugated bridge, diphenylamino（4a） and naphthylamino（4b） as electron-donating end-groups,were successfully prepared via Buchwald-Hartwig coupling reaction.Their linear photophysical and two-photon absorption（TPA） properties were investigated by absorption, fluorescence and nonlinear transmission method,respectively.The absorption cut-offs of the chromophores are below 550 nm and both chromophores have strong fluorescence emission.The compound 4a（206.3 GM） exhibits larger TPA cross-section than 4b （57.8 GM） in the femtosecond regime at 800 nm.

AIM:To investigate the feasibility and the effectiveness of ileoileostomy in the region adjacent to the ileocecal valve,which can retain the ileocecal valve in infants.METHODS:This is a retrospective review of 48 patients who underwent ileoileostomy in the region adjacent to the ileocecal valve(group 1) and 34 patients who underwent ileocecal resections and ileotransversanastomosis(group 2).Patients were monitored for the time to flatus,resumption of eating,length of hospital stay after surgery,serum total bile acid,vitamin B12 and postoperative complications.RESULTS:The time to flatus,time until resumption of eating and post-operative length of hospital stay showed no statistically significant differences between the two groups.Serum total bile acid and vitamin B12were not significantly different between the two groups at post-operative day 1 and day 3,but were significantly decreased at 1 wk after operation in group 2.None of the patients died or suffered from stomal leak in these two groups.However,the incidence of diarrhea,intestinal infection,disturbance of acid-base balance and water-electrolytes in group 1 was lower than in group 2.CONCluSION:Ileoileostomy in the region adjacent to the ileocecal valve is safe and results in fewer complications than ileotransversanastomosis in infants.

Two novel V-shaped symmetric chromophores： E-2,8-bis（4-vinyl-4-carbazol-9-yl）diben- zothiophene （abbreviated as SK-G1） and E-2,8-bis（4-vinyl-4-triphenylamino） dibenzothiophene （abbreviated as ST-G1） have been synthesized and characterized. Their two photon absorption properties were measured by the open-aperture femtosecond Z-scan technique and the nanosecond nonlinear optical transmission （NLT）, respectively, when pumped by Ti： sapphire laser at 750 nm and 800 nm.

Unisexual reproduction is generally relevant to polyploidy, and unisexual vertebrates are often considered an evolutionary “dead end” due to the accumulation of deleterious mutations and absence of genetic diversity. However, some unisexual polyploids have developed strategies to avoid genomic decay, and thus provide ideal models to unveil unexplored evolutionary mechanisms, from the reproductive success to clonal diversity creation. This article reviews the evolutionary mechanisms for overcoming meiotic barrier and generating genetic diversity in unisexual vertebrates, and summarizes recent research advancements in the polyploid Carassius complex. Gynogenetic gibel carp(Carassius gibelio) is a unique amphitriploid that has undergone a recurrent autotriploidy and has overcome the bottleneck of triploid sterility via gynogenesis. Recently, an efficient strategy in which ploidy changes, including from amphitriploid to amphitetraploid, then from amphitetraploid to novel amphitriploid, drive unisexual-sexual-unisexual reproduction transition and clonal diversity has been revealed.Based on this new discovery, multigenomic reconstruction biotechnology has been used to breed a novel strain with superior growth and stronger disease resistance. Moreover, a unique reproduction mode that combines both abilities of ameiotic oogenesis and sperm-egg fusion,termed as ameio-fusiongensis, has been discovered, and it provides an efficient approach to synthesize sterile allopolyploids. In order to avoid ecological risks upon escape and protect the sustainable property rights of the aquaculture seed industry, a controllable fertility biotechnology approach for precise breeding is being developed by integrating sterile allopolyploid synthesis and gene-editing techniques.This review provides novel insights into the origin and evolution of unisexual vertebrates and into the attempts being made to exploit new breeding biotechnologies in aquaculture.

A surface acoustic wave(SAW)gyroscope measures the rate of rotational angular velocity by exploiting a phenomenon known as the SAW gyroscope effect.Such a gyroscope is a great candidate for application in harsh environments because of the simplification of the suspension vibration mechanism necessary for traditional microelectromechanical system(MEMS)gyroscopes.Here,for the first time,we propose a novel toroidal standing-wave-mode SAW gyroscope using focused interdigitated transducers(FIDTs).Unlike traditional SAW gyroscopes that use linear IDTs to generate surface acoustic waves,which cause beam deflection and result in energy dissipation,this study uses FIDTs to concentrate the SAW energy based on structural features,resulting in better focusing performance and increased SAW amplitude.The experimental results reveal that the sensitivity of the structure is 1.51µV/(°/s),and the bias instability is 0.77°/s,which are improved by an order of magnitude compared to those of a traditional SAW gyroscope.Thus,the FIDT component can enhance the performance of the SAW gyroscope,demonstrating its superiority for angular velocity measurements.This work provides new insights into improving the sensitivity and performance of SAW gyroscopes.

The planar-chiral ligands have been widely applied as a class of unique and significant ligands in asymmetric catalysis.Among them,chiral[2.2]paracycyclophane has emerged as a privileged type of planar-chiral framework and has been utilized as an important toolbox due to their structural stability.Herein,we design and synthesize[2.2]paracyclophane-derived oxazole-pyrimidine ligands(abberviated as PYMCOX).These N,N-ligands with stable properties,rigid structure and large steric hindrance performed successfully in nickel-catalyzed asymmetric 1,2-reduction ofα,β-unsaturated ketones,affording the chiral allylic alcohols with up to 99%yield and 99%ee.Meanwhile,this reduction reaction could be conducted on gram-scale without loss of activity and enantioselectivity,and the chiral ligand could be conveniently recovered with high yield.

Two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations are performed to study the coupling between ion and electron motions in collisionless magnetic reconnection.The electron diffusion region(EDR),where the electron motions are demagnetized,is found to have a two-layer structure:an inner EDR near the reconnection site and an outer EDR that is elongated to nearly 10 ion inertial lengths in the outflow direction.In the inner EDR,the speed of the electron outflow increases when the electrons move away from the X line.In the outer EDR,the speed of the electron outflow first increases and then decreases until the electrons reach the boundary of the outer EDR.In the boundary of the outer EDR,the magnetic field piles up and forms a depolarization front.From the perspective of the fluid,a force analysis on the formation of electron and ion outflows has also been investigated.Around the X line,the electrons are accelerated by the reconnection electric field in the out-of-plane direction.When the electrons move away from the X line,we find that the Lorentz force converts the direction of the accelerated electrons to the x direction,forming an electron outflow.Both electric field forces and electron gradient forces tend to drag the electron outflow.Ion acceleration along the x direction is caused by the Lorentz force,whereas the pressure gradient force tends to decelerate the ion outflow.Although these two terms are important,their effects on ions are almost offset.The Hall electric field force does positive work on ions and is not negligible.The ions are continuously accelerated,and the ion and electron outflow velocities are almost the same near the depolarization front.

Effect of droplet characteristics on liquid-phase distribution in spray zone of internal mixing air-mist nozzle

In continuous casting production,droplet characteristics are important parameters for evaluating the nozzle atomization quality,and have a significant impact on the secondary cooling effect and the slab quality.In order to study the behavior of atomized droplets after reaching the slab surface and to optimize the spray cooling effect,the influence of droplet diameter and droplet velocity on the migration behavior of droplets in the secondary cooling zone was analyzed by FluENT software.Results show that the droplets in the spray zone and on the slab surface are mainly concentrated in the center,thus,the liquid volume fraction in the center is higher than that of either side.As the droplet diameter increases,the region of high liquid volume fraction on the slab surface becomes wider,and the liquid phase distribution in the slab width direction becomes uneven.Although increasing the droplet velocity at the nozzle exit has little effect on droplet diffusion in the spray zone,the distribution becomes more uneven due to more liquid reaches the slab surface per unit time.A prediction formula of the maximum water flow rate on the slab surface for specific droplet characteristics was proposed based on dimensionless analysis and validated by simulated data.A nozzle spacing of 210 mm was recommended under the working conditions in this study,which ensures effective coverage of the spray water over the slab surface and enhances the distribution uniformity of water flow rate in the transverse direction.
