Dear Editor,Fruit rot caused by necrotrophic pathogens results in substantial reductions in fruit yield and revenues worldwide(Petrasch et al.,2019).A widespread phenomenon in fleshy fruit species is the susceptibility of ripe fruits to necrotrophs(Silva et al.,2021),which facilitates seed dispersal(Forlani et al.,2019)but causes severe post-harvest losses in *** most of the nutritional and sensory qualities of fruits are elaborated at the ripening stage(liu et al.,2015),balancing fruit ripening and pathogen resistance to maintain fruit quality has proven to be challenging.A deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying the increased susceptibility of fruits to necrotrophs during ripening could lead to new strategies for producing necrotrophy-resistant fruits without compromising ripening-relatedquality.

Auxin plays a crucial role in all aspects of plant growth and *** can induce the rapid and efficient expression of some genes,which are named auxin early response genes(AERGs),mainly including the three families:auxin/indole-3-acetic acid(Aux/IAA),Gretchen Hagen 3(GH3),and small auxin-up RNA(SAUR).Aux/IAA encodes the Aux/IAA protein,which is a negative regulator of auxin ***/IAA and auxin response factor(ARF)form a heterodimer and participate in a variety of physiological processes through classical or non-classical auxin signaling *** GH3 encodes auxin amide synthetase,which catalyzes the binding of auxin to acyl-containing small molecule substrates(such as amino acids and jasmonic acid),and regulates plant growth and stresses by regulating auxin *** is a class of small auxin up-regulated *** response to auxin is complex,and the process may occur at the transcriptional,post-transcriptional and protein *** the development of multi-omics,significant progress has been made in the study of Aux/IAA,GH3,and SAUR genes,but there are still many *** review offers insight into the characteristics of Aux/IAA,GH3,and SAUR gene families,and their roles in roots,hypocotyls,leaves,leaf inclinations,flowers,seed development,stress response,and phytohormone crosstalk,and provides clues for future research on phytohormone signaling and the molecular design breeding of crops.

A Transcriptional Network Promotes Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Tomato Flesh

Dietary anthocyanins are important health-promoting antioxidants that make a major contribution to the quality of fruits. It is intriguing that most tomato cultivars do not produce anthocyanins in fruit. However, the purple tomato variety Indigo Rose, which has the dominant Aft locus combined with the recessive atv locus from wild tomato species, exhibits light-dependent anthocyanin accumulation in the fruit skin. Here, we report that Aft encodes a functional anthocyanin activator named SlAN2-like, while atv encodes a nonfunctional version of the anthocyanin repressor SlMYBATV. The expression of SlAN2-like is responsive to light, and the functional SlAN2-like can activate the expression of both anthocyanin biosynthetic genes and their regulatory genes, suggesting that SlAN2-like acts as a master regulator in the activation of anthocyanin biosynthesis. We further showed that cultivated tomatoes contain nonfunctional alleles of SlAN2-like and therefore fail to produce anthocyanins. Consistently, expression of a functional SlAN2-like gene driven by the fruit-specific promoter in a tomato cultivar led to the activation of the entire anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway and high-level accumulation of anthocyanins in both the peel and flesh. Taken together, our study exemplifies that efficient engineering of complex metabolic pathways could be achieved through tissue-specific expression of master transcriptional regulators.

Tomato （Solanum lycopersicum） is the leading vegetable crop worldwide and an essential component of a healthy diet （lin et al., 2014; Du et al., 2017）. Fruit color is regarded as one of the most important commercial traits in tomato （The Tomato Genome Consortium, 2012）. Consumers in different regions have different color preferences. For example, European and American consumers prefer red tomatoes, while pink tomatoes are more pop- ular in Asia countries, particularly in China and Japan （Ballester et al., 2010; lin et al., 2014）. However, most of tomato breeding ma- terials are red-fruited, thus the generation of pink-fruited materials is very important for Asian tomato production. The advantages of multi-level omics research on stem cell-based therapies for ischemic stroke

Stem cell transplantation is a potential therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke. However, despite many years of preclinical research, the application of stem cells is still limited to the clinical trial stage. Although stem cell therapy can be highly beneficial in promoting functional recovery, the precise mechanisms of action that are responsible for this effect have yet to be fully elucidated. Omics analysis provides us with a new perspective to investigate the physiological mechanisms and multiple functions of stem cells in ischemic stroke. Transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses have become important tools for discovering biomarkers and analyzing molecular changes under pathological conditions. Omics analysis could help us to identify new pathways mediated by stem cells for the treatment of ischemic stroke via stem cell therapy, thereby facilitating the translation of stem cell therapies into clinical use. In this review, we summarize the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke and discuss recent progress in the development of stem cell therapies for the treatment of ischemic stroke by applying multi-level omics. We also discuss changes in RNAs, proteins, and metabolites in the cerebral tissues and body fluids under stroke conditions and following stem cell treatment, and summarize the regulatory factors that play a key role in stem cell therapy. The exploration of stem cell therapy at the molecular level will facilitate the clinical application of stem cells and provide new treatment possibilities for the complete recovery of neurological function in patients with ischemic stroke.

As one of the most important vegetables,tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is extensively produced and consumed worldwide and substantially contributes to human nutrition and health (The Tomato Genome Consortium,2012).Although red tomatoes are the most common,pink tomatoes are more popular in Asia,particularly in China and Japan,because of their better taste (Ballester et al.,2010;Zhu et al.,2018).Compared with red tomatoes,pink tomatoes fail to accumulate the yellow-colored flavonoid pigment,naringenin chalcone (NarCh),in their peels,resulting in a colorless peel phenotype (Adato et al,2009;Ballester et al.,2010).

Nickel-modified In_(2)O_(3) with inherent oxygen vacancies for CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol

Methanol synthesis is one of the most important industrially-viable approaches for carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) utilization, as the produced methanol can be used as a platform chemical for manufacturing green fuels and chemicals. The In_(2)O_(3) catalysts are ideal for sustainable methanol synthesis and have received considerable attention. Herein, Co-, Ni-and Cu-modified In_(2)O_(3) catalysts were fabricated with high dispersion and high stability to improve the hydrogenation performance. The Ni-promoted In_(2)O_(3) catalyst in the form of high dispersion possessed the largest amount of oxygen vacancies and the strongest ability for H_(2) activation, leading to the highest CO_(2) conversion and space time yield of methanol of 0.390 g_(Me OH)g_(cat)^(-1)h^(-1) with CH_(3)OH selectivity of 68.7%. In addition, the catalyst exhibits very stable performance over 120 h on stream, which suggests the promising prospect for industrial applications. Further experimental and theoretical studies demonstrate that surface Ni doping promotes the formation of oxygen defects on the In_(2)O_(3) catalyst, although it also results in lower methanol selectivity. Surprisingly, subsurface Ni dopants are found to be more beneficial for methanol formation than surface Ni dopants, so the Nipromoted In_(2)O_(3)catalyst with a lower surface Ni content at the similar Ni loading can reach higher methanol selectivity and productivity. This work thus provides theoretical guidance for significantly improving the CO_(2) reactivity of In_(2)O_(3)-based catalysts while maintaining high methanol selectivity.

An Online Q-Learning Method for linear-Quadratic Nonzero-Sum Stochastic Differential Games with Completely Unknown Dynamics

In this paper, the authors design a reinforcement learning algorithm to solve the adaptive linear-quadratic stochastic n-players non-zero sum differential game with completely unknown dynamics. For each player, a critic network is used to estimate the Q-function, and an actor network is used to estimate the control input. A model-free online Q-learning algorithm is obtained for solving this kind of problems. It is proved that under some mild conditions the system state and weight estimation errors can be uniformly ultimately bounded. A simulation with five players is given to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Mechanical Modeling and Analysis of Stability Deterioration of Production Well During Marine Hydrate Depressurization Production

Different from oil and gas production,hydrate reservoirs are shallow and unconsolidated,whose mechanical properties deteriorate with hydrate ***,the formations will undergo significant subsidence during depressurization,which will destroy the original force state of the production ***,existing research on the stability of oil and gas production wells assumes the formation to be stable,and lacks consideration of the force exerted on the hydrate production well by formation subsidence caused by hydrate decomposition during *** fill this gap,this paper proposes an analytical method for the dynamic evolution of the stability of hydrate production well considering the effects of hydrate *** on the mechanical model of the production well,the basis for stability analysis has been proposed.A multi-field coupling model of the force state of the production well considering the effect of hydrate decomposition and formation subsidence is established,and a solver is *** analytical approach is verified by its good agreement with the results from the numerical method.A case study found that the decomposition of hydrate will increase the pulling-down force and reduce the supporting force,which is the main reason for the stability *** higher the initial hydrate saturation,the larger the reservoir thickness,and the lower the production pressure,the worse the stability or even *** work can provide a theoretical reference for the stability maintaining of the production well.
