The polymer translocation through a nanopore from a donor space(or named cis side) to a receiver space(trans side) in the chaperone-induced crowded environment has attracted increasing attention in recent years due to its significance in biological systems and technological applications. In this work, we mainly focus on the effects of chaperone concentration and chaperone-polymer interaction on the polymer translocation. By assuming the polymer translocation to be a quasi-equilibrium process, the free energy F of the polymer can be estimated by Rosenbluth-Rosenbluth method and then the translocation time τ can be calculated by Fokker-Plank equation based on the obtained free energy landscape. Our calculation results show that the translocation time can be controlled by independently tuning the chaperone concentration and chaperone-polymer interaction at the cis side or the trans side. There exists a critical chaperone-polymer attraction ε~*=-0.2 at which the volume exclusion and interaction effects of the chaperone can balance each other. Additionally, we also find that at large chaperone-polymer attraction, the translocation time is mainly governed by the diffusion coefficient of the polymer.

Long runout landslides involve a massive amount of energy and can be extremely hazardous owing to their long movement distance,high mobility and strong destructive *** methods have been widely used to predict the landslide runout but a fundamental problem remained is how to determine the reliable numerical *** study proposes a framework to predict the runout of potential landslides through multi-source data collaboration and numerical analysis of historical landslide ***,for the historical landslide cases,the landslide-induced seismic signal,geophysical surveys,and possible in-situ drone/phone videos(multi-source data collaboration)can validate the numerical results in terms of landslide dynamics and deposit features and help calibrate the numerical(rheological)***,the calibrated numerical parameters can be used to numerically predict the runout of potential landslides in the region with a similar geological setting to the recorded *** of the runout prediction approach to the 2020 Jiashanying landslide in Guizhou,China gives reasonable results in comparison to the field *** numerical parameters are determined from the multi-source data collaboration analysis of a historical case in the region(2019 Shuicheng landslide).The proposed framework for landslide runout prediction can be of great utility for landslide risk assessment and disaster reduction in mountainous regions worldwide.

Soft carbons have attracted extensive interests as competitive anodes for fast-charging sodium-ion batteries(SIBs);however,the high-rate performance is still restricted by their large ion migration barriers and sluggish reaction ***,we show a molecular design approach toward the fabrication of nitrogen and phosphorus codoped mesoporous soft carbon(NPSC).The key to this strategy lies in the chemical cross-linking reaction between polyphosphoric acid and p-phenylenediamine,associated with pyrolysis induced in-situ self-activation that creates mesoporous structures and rich heteroatoms within the carbon *** to the enlarged interlayer spacing,reduced ion diffusion length,and plentiful active sites,the obtained NPSC delivers a superb rate capacity of 215 mAh g-1 at 10 A g-1 and an ultralong cycle life of 4,700 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).Remarkably,the full cell shows 99%capacity retention during 100 continuous cycles,and maximum energy and power densities of 191 Wh kg^(-1)and 9.2 kW kg^(-1),*** believe that such a synthetic protocol could pave a novel venue to develop soft carbons with unique properties for advanced SIBs.

Bird flocking is a paradigmatic case of self‐organised collective behaviours in *** camera systems are employed to observe flocks of starlings,jackdaws,and chimney swifts,mainly on a spot‐fixed basis.A portable non‐fixed stereo vision‐based flocking observation system,namely FlockSeer,is developed by the authors for observing more species of bird flocks within field *** portable flocking observer,FlockSeer,responds to the challenges in extrinsic calibration,camera synchronisation and field movability compared to existing spot‐fixed observing systems.A measurement and sensor fusion approach is utilised for rapid calibration,and a light‐based synchronisation approach is used to simplify hardware *** has been implemented and tested across six cities in three provinces and has accomplished diverse flock‐tracking tasks,accumulating behavioural data of four species,including egrets,with up to 300 resolvable *** authors reconstructed the trajectories of a flock of egrets under disturbed conditions to verify the practicality and *** addition,we analysed the accuracy of identifying nearest neighbours,and then examined the similarity between the trajectories and the Couzin *** results demonstrate that the developed flocking observing system is highly portable,more convenient and swift to deploy in wetland‐like or coast‐like *** observation process is reliable and practical and can effectively support the study of understanding and modelling of bird flocking behaviours.

Optimizing evasive maneuvering of planes using a flight quality driven model

This paper investigates the optimal evasive maneuver for a plane to avoid an incoming missile. To accurately model the system dynamics while improving computational efficiency, a simplified plane model based on flight quality is established. A missile model with proportional guidance is also *** problem of determining the optimal evasion plane maneuver is formulated. The Gauss pseudospectral method(GPM) is proposed as a solution to find the optimal maneuver. The optimized maneuver is validated by testing it on a high-fidelity 6-degree-of-freedom(6-DOF) model, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed simplified plane model. The Monte Carlo method is employed to evaluate the capability of the plane to evade missiles in various scenarios and elucidate general principles for successful evasion.
