Bimodal grain structures and tensile properties of a biomedical Co-20Cr-15W-10Ni alloy with different pre-strains

The influence of pre-strain on the formation of bimodal grain structures and tensile properties of a Co-20 Cr-15 W-10 Ni alloy was *** bimodal grain structures consist of fine grains(FGs;2-3μm in diameter)and coarse grains(CGs;8-16μm in diameter),which can be manipulated by changing the pre-strain(ε=0.3-0.7)and annealing temperatures(1000-1100℃).High pre-strain applied in the samples can intensify the plasticity heterogeneity through increasing the total dislocation density and the local volumes of high-density *** can essentially result in finer FGs,a higher FG volume fraction,and overall grain refinement in the samples after ***-temperature essentially increases both the size and volume fraction of CGs,leading to an increase in the average grain *** tensile test suggests that the bimodal grain structured samples exhibited both high strength and ductility,yield strengths of621-877 MPa and ultimate tensile strengths of1187-1367 MPa with uniform elongations of 55.0%-71.4%.The superior strength-ductility combination of the samples arises from the specific deformation mechanisms of the bimodal grain *** tensile properties strongly depend on the size ratio and volume fraction of FGs/CGs in addition to the average grain size in the bimodal grain *** grain structures can be modified via changing the pre-strain and annealing temperature.

Background:Endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder stenting(ETGBS)has been used as an alternative to percutaneous cholecystostomy in patients with acute cholecystitis who are considered unfit for ***,there are few data on the efficacy and safety of ETGBS replacement of percutaneous cholecystostomy in high-risk surgical *** study aimed to evaluate the feasibility,efficacy,and safety of ETGBS to replace percutaneous cholecystostomy in high-risk surgical ***:This single center retrospective study reviewed the data of patients who attempted ETGBS to replace percutaneous cholecystostomy between January 2017 and September *** technical success,clinical success,adverse events,and stent patency were ***:ETGBS was performed in 43 patients(24 male,mean age 80.7±7.4 years)to replace percutaneous cholecystostomy due to high surgical *** technical success rate and clinical success rate were 97.7%(42/43)and 90.5%(38/42),***-related adverse events and stent-related late adverse events occurred in 7.0%(3/43)and 11.6%(5/43),*** the patients who successfully underwent ETGBS(n=42),only one had recurrent acute cholecystitis during *** median stent patency was 415 days(interquartile range 240–528 days).Conclusions:ETGBS,as a secondary intervention for the purpose of internalizing gallbladder drainage in patients following placement of a percutaneous cholecystostomy,is safe,effective,and technically ***,conversion of percutaneous cholecystostomy to ETGBS may be considered as a viable option in high-risk surgical patients.

Porous FeS nanofibers with numerous nanovoids obtained by Kirkendall diffusion effect for use as anode materials for sodium-ion batteries

Porous FeS nanofibers with numerous nanovoids for use as anode materials for sodium-ion batteries were prepared by electrospinning and subsequent sulfidation. The post-treatment of the as-spun Fe（acac）3-polyacrylonitrile composite nanofibers in an air atmosphere yielded hollow Fe2O3 nanofibers due to Ostwald ripening. The ultrafine Fe2O3 nanocrystals formed at the center of the fiber diffused toward the outside of the fiber via Ostwald ripening. On sulfidation, the Fe2O3 hollow nanofibers were transformed into porous FeS nanofibers, which contained numerous nanovoids. The formation of porosity in the FeS nanofibers was driven by nanoscale Kirkendall diffusion. The porous FeS nanofibers were very structurally stable and had superior sodium-ion storage properties compared with the hollow Fe2O3 nanofibers. The discharge capacities of the porous FeS nanofibers for the Ist and 150th cycles at a current density of 500 mA.g-1 were 561 and 592 mA.h-g-1, respectively. The FeS nanofibers had final discharge capacities of 456, 437, 413, 394, 380, and 353 mA-h.g-1 at current densities of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 A.g-1, respectively.

With increasing personalized healthcare,fiber-based wearable temperature sensors that can be incorporated into textiles have attracted more attention in the field of wearable ***,we present a flexible,well-passivated,polymer–nanocomposite–based fiber temperature sensor fabricated by a thermal drawing process of multiple *** engineered a preform to optimize material processability and sensor performance by considering the rheological and functional properties of the preform *** fiber temperature sensor consisted of a temperature-sensing core made from a conductive polymer composite of thermoplastic polylactic acid,a conductive carbon filler,reduced graphene oxide,and a highly flexible linear low-density polyethylene passivation *** fiber temperature sensor exhibited adequate sensitivity(−0.285%/℃)within a temperature range of 25–45℃with rapid response and recovery times of 11.6 and 14.8 s,*** addition,it demonstrated a consistent and reliable temperature response under repeated mechanical and chemical stresses,which satisfied the requirements for the long-term application of wearable fiber ***,the fiber temperature sensor sewn onto a daily cloth and hand glove exhibited a highly stable performance in response to body temperature changes and temperature detection by *** results indicate the great potential of this sensor for applications in wearable,electronic skin,and other biomedical devices.

Effects of air movement in a hot air dryer on the drying characteristics of colored potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) using computational fluid dynamics

The flow fields of hot air in the dryer for drying colored potatoes of which characteristics are highly sensitive to the temperature were simulated using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** local air velocity decreased as the distance from the flow inlet *** mass and heat transfer coefficients increased from 0.666×10^(-2) m/s to 1.711×10^(-2) m/s,and 6.555 W/(m^(2)·K)to 16.834 W/(m^(2)·K),respectively,as the air velocity increased from 0.207 m/s to 1.567 m/s at 60°*** drying simulation model using the heat and mass transfer model made accurate *** thermal properties of colored potato,such as the thermal conductivity and specific heat,decreased significantly from 0.440 W/(m·K)to 0.034 W/(m·K)and 3906.45 J/(kg·K)to 2198.52 J/(kg·K),respectively,as the moisture content decreased from 78% to 5%.With the variable thermal and physical properties,the heat transfer simulation model made accurate predictions of the hot-air drying characteristics for the colored potatoes,and the RMSE values for all cases were(1.85±0.27)℃.

BACKGROUND Unilateral pulmonary hemorrhage is typically reported in young and healthy men with upper respiratory tract obstruction during anesthesia in special *** pressure in the lungs is created,resulting in negative pressure pulmonary edema(NPPE).CASE SUMMARY A 78-year-old male patient diagnosed with spinal stenosis was admitted to receive a unilateral laminectomy with bilateral *** patient had been diagnosed with hypertension four years earlier and asthma more than 70 years *** experienced a unilateral alveolar hemorrhage associated with NPPE that occurred in a longstanding asthma patient who bit the intubated endotracheal tube for a short period during posture change at the end of *** diffuse alveolar hemorrhage accompanied by NPPE was caused in this case by airway obstruction in an older patient with asthma without known risk factors,anesthesiologists should be careful not to induce airway irritation during anesthesia awakening in asthma *** Because diffuse alveolar hemorrhage accompanied by NPPE can occur,anesthesiologists should take care not to induce airway irritation.

Volume Estimation of Small Scale Debris Flows Based on Observations of Topographic changes Using Airborne LiDAR DEMs

This paper describes a geographic information system(GIS)-based method for observing changes in topography caused by the initiation, transport, and deposition of debris flows using highresolution light detection and ranging(LiDAR) digital elevation models(DEMs) obtained before and after the debris flow events. The paper also describes a method for estimating the volume of debris flows using the differences between the LiDAR DEMs. The relative and absolute positioning accuracies of the LiDAR DEMs were evaluated using a real-time precise global navigation satellite system(GNSS) positioning method. In addition, longitudinal and cross-sectional profiles of the study area were constructed to determine the topographic changes caused by the debris flows. The volume of the debris flows was estimated based on the difference between the LiDAR DEMs. The accuracies of the relative and absolute positioning of the two LiDAR DEMs were determined to be ±10 cm and ±11 cm RMSE, respectively, which demonstrates the efficiency of the method for determining topographic changes at an scale equivalent to that of field investigations. Based on the topographic changes, the volume of the debris flows in the study area was estimated to be 3747 m3, which is comparable with the volume estimated based on the data from field investigations.

Systematic Revision of Trilobites from the Middle Ordovician(Darriwilian) Klimoli Formation of the Zhuozishan Area,Inner Mongolia,China

New morphologic information permits systematic revision of trilobites from the Middle Ordovician Klimoli Formation of the Zhuozishan area, Ordos Basin, Inner Mongolia. The new assemblage is composed of 10 species of the Raphiophoridae, Nileidae, Asaphidae, and Telephinidae.？ An asaphid, aff. Mioptychopyge lashachungensis （previously Paraptychopyge lashachungensis） displays an intermediate morphology between the Chinese nobiliasaphine genera Mioptychopyge and Zhenganites. The pygidial doublure is regarded as the most significant character to differentiate Symphysurus klimoliensis （previously Nileus klimoliensis） of the Nileidae from such closely allied taxa as Poronileus. A nileid, cf. Peraspis kujandensis displays typical nileid morphology, unlike the type species, Peraspis lineolata, which might turn out to be an asaphid. Ampyx gongwusuensis sp. nov. of the Raphiophoridae is the first record of the genus in the Zhuozishan area and reveals morphologic details that might be employed to resolve Ampyx taxonomy in China. Morphologic differences between A. gongwusuensis and Abulbaspis ordosensis might represent a case of sexual dimorphism.

Effect of Al addition on corrosion behavior of high-purity Mg in terms of processing history

In this study,the effects of Al addition on the corrosion behavior of pure Mg with controlled impurity contents were systematically analyzed according to the processing *** results revealed that the corrosion behavior of high-purity Mg-Al alloys is strongly related to changes in the microstructure,including theβphase and Al-Mn or Al-Fe phases,and the protectiveness of the surface film according to the Al content and processing *** the as-cast alloys,the corrosion rate increased due to the increase ofβphase as the Al content increased,but in the as-extruded alloys,the corrosion rate,which was high due to intermetallic compounds caused by impurities in the low Al alloy,decreased as the Al content increased,and then increased *** is due to the combined effect of the increase of theβphase and decrease of the impurity effect,and the increase of the dissolved Al *** results suggest that it is necessary to analyze the effect of alloying elements on the corrosion behavior of pure Mg with information concerning the impurity content and processing history.
