The corrosion behavior of pure aluminum in neutral 3.0% （mass fraction） sodium chloride （na-Cl） solution has been studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） measurement in conjunction with the scanning electron microscopy （SEM） technique. EIS information on the evolution of pitting corrosion over a period of 15 days has been obtained and analyzed with equivalent circuit technique. The results shown that, during the ensemble constant immersion time, two time constants involved, the high frequency one originated from the protective layer on the corroding surface while the low frequenO, one from the diffusion process or the corrosion reaction and so on. And there existed a period for oxide film to growth and thickening prior to the of the attacking of chloride ions to the substrate. Meanwhile, good relationship between EIS and the material corrosion type/severity has been obtained, which has been interpreted according to the characteristics of corrosion process such as auto acceleration of pitting corrosion and the protection of local anodic reaction to the area around them.

The development of low-cost and efficient new mineral adsorbents has been a hot topic in recent years. In this study, Friedel＇s salt （FS：3cao·A12O3 ·CaCl2 ·10H2O）, a hexagonal layered inorganic absorbent, was synthesized to remove Cd2＋ from water. The adsorption process was simulated by Langmuir and Freundlich models. The adsorption mech.nism was further analyzed with TEM, XRD, FT-IR analysis and monitoring of metal cations released and solution pH variation. The results indicated the adsorbent FS had an outstanding ability for Cd（Ⅱ） adsorption. The maximum adsorption capacity of the FS for Cd（Ⅱ） removal can reach up to 671.14 mg/g. The nearly equal numbers of Cd2＋ adsorbed and Ca2＋ released demonstrated that ion-exch.nge （both surface and inner） of the FS for Cd（Ⅱ） played an important role during the adsorption process. Furthermore, the surface of the FS after adsorption was microscopically disintegrated while the inner lamellar structure was almost unch.nged. The behavior of Cd（Ⅱ） adsorption by FS was significantly affected by surface reactions. The mech.nisms of Cd2＋ adsorption by the FS mainly included surface complexation and surface precipitation. In the present study, the adsorption process was fitted better by the Langmuir isotherm model （R2 = 0.9999） than the Freundlich isotherm model （R2 = 0.8122）. Finally, due to the high capacity for ion-exch.nge on the FS surface, FS is a promising layered inorganic adsorbent for the removal of Cd（Ⅱ） from water.

The supernumerary spikelets（SS）characters of tetraploid wheat（Triticum turgidum L.）resulting in more spikelets and kernels per spike,thus enhancing sink capacity may contribute to potential wheat yield *** order to investigate the effect of different SS types on agronomic characters and understand the genetic base of SS phenotype in tetraploid wheat,near isogenic lines（nILs）,bh-50 with normal spikelets（nS）,bh-51 with four-rowed spikelets（FRS）,bh-52 with short-ramified spikelets（SRS）,and bh-53 with long-ramified spikelets（LRS）in a Triticum durum ***1286 genetic background were developed by continuous *** characters showed that the SS phenotype lines,bh-51,bh-52and bh-53 have significant increase in the number of spikelets and grains per spike compared with the nS phenotype line bh-50（P〈0.05）,and bh-53 line showed much more increase than those of bh-51 and ***,bh-53 had the lowest grain weight and the longest spike development stage than those of other spike *** results indicated that the different SS types have different effects on the agronomic and spike *** analysis through bh-50/bh-51and bh-51/bh-53 F2 populations showed that a recessive major gene controlled the spike architecture to transform from nS to FRS,and a dominant major gene determined the ch.nge of spike phenotype from FRS to *** sequences of Tt BH/WFZP ortholog on chromosome 2AS revealed that a single nucleotide polymorphism（SnP）substitution happened in the open reading frame（ORF）region of all the SS tetraploid wheat accessions,which may lead to the generation of lateral meristems between glume and lemma during the immature spike *** the fates of the lateral meristems,developing into lateral spikelets or branched spikelets,may be determined by another major *** results presented here may advance our understanding and knowledge of the genes and genetic pathways determining the spike architecture development in wh

Haynaldia villosa （2n=2X= 14, VV）, a relative of wheat, plays important roles in wheat improvement mainly owing to its disease resistance. Powdery mildew resistance gene Pm21 has been successfully transferred into wheat by Cytogenetic Institute, nanjing Agricultural University, ch.na, and is widely used in the current wheat breeding programs. In this research, our objective is to further transfer and utilize the beneficial genes such as eye-spot resistance, yellow rust resistance, and gene of the tufted bristles on the glume ridge （a remarkable morphology） mapped on 2V of Haynaldia villosa. A disomic addition line with gametocidal chromosome 3C ofAegilops triuncialis added in norin-26 was crossed to the wheat-H, villosa disomic substitution 2V（2D） and the hybrid F1 was then self-crossed. chromosome C-banding, genomic in situ hybridization （GIsh）, and meiotic analysis in combination with molecular markers were applied to detect the chromosome variations derived from hybrids Fz and F3. To date, four translocations including one small segmental translocation T6BS·6BL-2VS, two whole arm translocations （preliminarily designed as T3DS·2VL and T2VS.7DL） and one intercalary translocation T2VS·2VL-W-2VL, one deletion Del. 2VS·2VL-, one monotelosomic Mt2VS, and one isochromosome 2VS·2VS line have been developed and characterized. One wheat SSR marker Xwmc25.120 tagging 2VS and one wheat STS marker nAU/STSBCD135-1 （2BL） tagging 2VL were successfully used to confirm the alien chromosome segments involved in the seven lines. The tufted bristles on the glume ridge appeared in lines T2VS-7DL, Mt2VS, 2VS-2VS as well as the parent DS2V（2D）, whereas in T3DS·2VL, this trait did not appear. The gene controlling the tufted bristles was located on 2VS. Gametocidal chromosome 3C ofAegilops triuncialis could successfully induce chromosome 2V structural ch.nges.

In this paper, we have formulated quantum beetle antennae search(QBAS), a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm, and a variant of beetle antennae search(BAS). We apply it to portfolio selection,a well-known finance problem. Quantum computing is gaining immense popularity among the scientific community as it outsmarts the conventional computing in efficiency and speed. All the traditional computing algorithms are not directly compatible with quantum computers, for that we need to formulate their variants using the principles of quantum mech.nics. In the portfolio optimization problem, we need to find the set of optimal stock such that it minimizes the risk factor and maximizes the mean-return of the portfolio. To the best of our knowledge, no quantum meta-heuristic algorithm has been applied to address this problem yet. We apply QBAS on real-world stock market data and compare the results with other meta-heuristic optimization algorithms. The results obtained show that the QBAS outperforms swarm algorithms such as the particle swarm optimization(PSO) and the genetic algorithm(GA).

Syngas produced from the gasification of organic feedstocks from biomass is one of the clean and sustainable sources of *** advantages of simple access and renewability of biomass energy can meet the energy needs of temporary power *** study presents a biomass power-generation system for vehicular *** biomass and a free-piston Stirling engine generator（FPSEG） as the primary material and prime mover,respectively,biomass energy is converted into electricity by combusting the syngas to heat the *** and key parameter design for biomass gasification and thermoelectric conversion systems within a power generation system were performed.A porous medium area was constructed using Si-C foam ceramics to obtain an energy-conversion experimental *** effects of bed height,porosity,porous-region diameter,and air-intake conditions on the power-generation performance were investigated,and optimisations were performed for the thermoelectric conversion *** rate of increase during FPSEG power generation first increased and then decreased with increasing bed height,peaking at a bed height of 40 *** increasing porous-region diameter accelerated FPSEG power generation,whereas porosity ch.nges in the porous media did not significantly affect the rate of ch.nge during FPSEG power *** increasing air intake,the rate of increase during power generation first increased and then *** maximum ch.nge rate and the highest thermoelectric conversion efficiency of the power-generation system occurred at 9.5 m3/h and 6.5 m3/h（～45.1%）air intakes,*** the thermal inertia and combustion structure of the thermoelectric conversion system significantly increased the power-generation rate of the system,with 1.8 W/s being observed at a 9.7 m3/h air intake.

In order to investigate the effects on the cytotoxicity of indole-3-oxalylamino podophyllotoxin analogs, seven novel podophyllotoxin derivatives were synthesized. The compounds were tested against Hela, K562 or K562/A02 cancer cells in vitro, four of which showed significant cytotoxicity. Among them 9a, 9b and 9c were superior to the positive control VP-16.

In this paper,we propose enhancements to Beetle Antennae search(BAS)algorithm,called BAS-ADaiVL to smoothen the convergence behavior and avoid trapping in localminima for a highly noin-convex objective *** achieve this by adaptively adjusting the step-size in each iteration using the adaptive moment estimation(ADAM)update *** proposed algorithm also increases the convergence rate in a narrow valley.A key feature of the ADAM update rule is the ability to adjust the step-size for each dimension separately instead of using the same *** ADAM is traditionally used with gradient-based optimization algorithms,therefore we first propose a gradient estimation model without the need to differentiate the objective ***,it demonstrates excellent performance and fast convergence rate in search.ng for the optimum of noin-convex *** efficiency of the proposed algorithm was tested on three different benchmark problems,including the training of a high-dimensional neural *** performance is compared with particle swarm optimizer(PSO)and the original BAS algorithm.
