The REAl(Si,Ge)(RE=rare earth)family,known to break both the inversion-and time-reversal symmetries,represents one of the most suitable platforms for investigating the interplay between correlated-electron phenomena and topologically nontrivial ***,we report on systematic magnetic,transport,and muon-spin rotation and relaxation(μSR)measurements on(Nd,Sm)AlGe single crystals,which exhibit antiferromagnetic(AFM)transitions at T_(N)=6.1 and 5.9 K,*** addition,NdAlGe undergoes also an incommensurate-to-commensurate ferrimagnetic transition at 4.5 *** transverse-fieldμSR measurements confirm the AFM transitions,featuring a~90%magnetic volume ***-field(ZF)μSR measurements reveal a more disordered internal field distribution in NdAlGe than in SmAlGe,reflected in a larger transverse muon-spin relaxation rateλTat Tch undergoes a series of metamagnetic transitions in an external magnetic field,while SmAlGe shows only a robust AFM *** NdAlGe,the topological Hall effect(THE)appears between the first and the second metamagnetic transitions for H‖c,while it is absent in *** THE in NdAlGe is most likely attributed to the field-induced topological spin *** longitudinal muon-spin relaxation rateλL,diverges near the AFM order,followed by a clear drop at T

A prognosis model for predicting immunotherapy response of esophageal cancer based on oxidative stress-related signatures

Oxidative stress(OS)is intimately associated with tumorigenesis and has been considered a potential therapeutic ***,the OS-associated therapeutic target for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)remains *** our study,gene expression data of ESCC and clinical information from public databases were *** LASSO-Cox regression analysis,a risk score(RS)signature map of prognosis was constructed and performed external verification with the GSE53625 *** ESTIMATE,xCell,CIBERSORT,TIMER,and ImmuCellAI algorithms were employed to analyze infiltrating immune cells and generate an immune microenvironment(IM).Afterward,functional enrichment analysis clarified the underlying mechanism of the *** was utilized for forecasting the survival rate of individual ESCC *** a result,we successfully constructed an OS-related genes(OSRGs)model and found that the survival rate of high-risk groups was lower than that of low-risk *** AUC of the ROC verified the strong prediction performance of the signal in these two cohorts *** to independent prognostic analysis,the RS was identified as an independent risk factor for *** nomogram and follow-up data revealed that the RS possesses favorable predictive value for the prognosis of ESCC ***-PCR detection demonstrated increased expression of MPC1,COX6C,CYB5R3,CASP7,and CYCS in esophageal cancer *** conclusion,we have constructed an OSRGs model for ESCC to predict patients’prognosis,offering a novel insight into the potential application of the OSRGs model in ESCC.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)h ave attracted widespread attention due to their large surface area and porous *** designing the nanostructures of MOFs to promote their application in ethanol electrooxidation is still a ***,a novel Cu-NCNs(Cu-nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes)support was synthesized by pyrolysis of melamine(MEL)and Cu-ZIF-8 together,and then,Pd-Au nanoalloys were loaded by sodium borohydride reduction method to prepare PdAu@Cu-NCNs *** generating mesoporous carbon with high specific surface area and favorable electron and mass transport can be used as a potential excellent carrier for PdAu *** addition,the balance of catalyst composition and surface structure was tuned by controlling the content of Pd and ***,the best-performed Pd_(2)Au_(2)@Cu-NCN-1000-2(where 1000 means the carrier calcination temperature,and 2 means the calcination constant temperature time)catalyst exhibits better long-term stability and electrochemical activity for ethanol oxidation in alkaline media(4.80 A·mg^(-1)),which is 5.05 times higher than that of commercial Pd/C(0.95 A·mg^(-1)).Therefore,this work is beneficial to further promoting the application of MOFs in direct ethanol fuel cells(DEFCs)and can be used as inspiration for the design of more efficient catalyst support structures.

Effect of electrical parameters and slag system on macrostructure of electroslag ingot

To investigate the influence of electric parameters and slag system on the solidification quality of electroslag ingot during electroslag remelting,different power supply modes,current strengths and remelting slag systems were used to conduct electroslag remelting experiments on 304L austenitic stainless steel,and the macrostructure of electroslag ingots was *** results indicate that the depth of the metal pool decreases with the reduction of remelting frequency in the low frequency power supply *** effects of different power supply modes,such as low-frequency,direct current straight polarity(DCSP),and direct current reverse polarity(DCRP),on reducing the depth of the metal pool increase in that *** reducing the remelting current strength in the same power supply mode,the depth of metal pool is *** compared to the binary slag system of 70%CaF2+30%Al2O3,the ternary slag system of 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO is more effective in reducing the depth of the metal pool during *** the 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO ternary slag system results in a shallower and flatter metal pool,with columnar crystal growth occurring closer to the axial *** effect is observed for both low frequency and direct current(DC)power supply modes.

Solar-driven CO2conversion into hydrocarbon fuels is a sustainable approach to synchronously alleviating the energy crisis and achieving net ***,the dependence of the conversion process on solar illumination hinders its practical application due to the intermittent availability of sunlight at night and on cloudy or rainy ***,we report a model material of Pt-loaded hexagonal tungsten trioxide（Pt/h-WO3） for decoupling light and dark reaction processes,demonstrating the sustainable CO2conversion under dark conditions for the first *** such a material system,hydrogen atoms can be produced by photocatalytic water splitting under solar illumination,stored together with electrons in the h-WO3through the transition of W6+to W5+and spontaneously released to trigger catalytic CO2reduction under dark ***,we demonstrate using natural light that ch4production can persist at night and on rainy days,proving the accomplishment of all-weather CO2conversion via a sustainable way.

Atomistic study on the microscopic mechanism of grain boundary embrittlement induced by small dense helium bubbles in iron

The helium bubbles induced by 14 MeV neutron irradiation can cause intergranular fractures in reduced activation ferritic martensitic steel,which is a candidate structural material for fusion *** order to elucidate the susceptibility of different grain boundaries(GBs)to helium-induced embrittlement,the tensile fracture processes of 10 types of GBs with and without helium bubbles in body-centered cubic(bcc)iron at the relevant service temperature of 600 K were investigated via molecular dynamics *** results indicate that in the absence of helium bubbles,the GBs studied here can be classified into two distinct categories:brittle GBs and ductile *** atomic scale analysis shows that the plastic deformation of ductile GB at high temperatures originates from complex plastic deformation mechanisms,including the Bain/Burgers path phase transition and deformation twinning,in which the Bain path phase transition is the most dominant plastic deformation ***,the presence of helium bubbles severely inhibits the plastic deformation channels of the GBs,resulting in a significant decrease in elongation at *** bubble-decorated GBs,the ultimate tensile strength increases with the increase in the misorientation ***,the coherent twin boundary∑3{112}was found to maintain relatively high fracture strength and maximum failure strain under the influence of helium bubbles.

Additive manufacturing of NiTi lightweight porous structures bio-mimicking coral skeleton with enhanced mechanical properties and shape memory functions

Concerning the high demand for lightweight and multifunctional properties of engineering structures, the coral skeleton-inspired sheet-based(CSS) structure, which was a novel bio-mimicking coral skeleton wall-septa architecture with a unique ability to resist wave shocks was fabricated using NiTi alloy by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF) technology. The effects of laser energy density(LED) on surface morphologies, microstructures, phase transformation behavior, and mechanical properties of LPBFfabricated CSS structures were systematically investigated. The results indicated that the size deviation was predominantly governed by powder adhesion and step effect. NiTi CSS structures with LED of 71 j·mm~(-3)possessed superior compressive modulus(~400 MPa), ultimate strength(~13 MPa), and energy absorption efficiency(~69%). The compression fracture mechanism of the LPBF-fabricated NiTi CSS structures was revealed to be predominantly brittle fracture accompanied by ductile fracture. Furthermore, the Ni_4Ti_3 nanoprecipitates induced the precipitation strengthening effect, enabling better shape memory response at LED of 71 j·mm~(-3), with a recoverable strain of 3.63% and recovery ratio of 90.8%, after heating under a pre-strain of 4%. This study highlights the importance of a bionic design strategy for enhancing the mechanical properties of NiTi components and offers the possibility to tailor its functional properties.
