This research investigates the soil conditioning effect of sugar cane fields with biochar produced from sugarcane *** influence on the physicochemical and microbiological conditions of the soil and the agronomic performance of sugarcane seedlings was *** this end,the biochar from sugarcane bagasse was produced by pyrolysis in a double drum oven and mixed with soil at rates of 0,1%,3%,and 5%(in weight).The experiment was installed in a greenhouse with two evaluation periods(30 days and 60 days)and five *** pot received a pre-sprouted cane seedling,and the analysis of colony-forming units(bacteria and fungi),physicochemical characteristics of the soil,and growth and development of sugarcane were performed per *** biochar showed a high fixed carbon content(72%)and a specific surface area estimated by the adsorption of methylene blue of 50 m2 g−***,its structure is porous and contains important nutrients(e.g.,CaO,K2O,and P2O5).In the periods evaluated,the applications of the 3%and 5%(in weight)rates of biochar reduced most of the soil fertility ***,the chemical analyses indicated that the sugarcane field soil collected already possessed high *** microbiota was influenced,but only the application of the 3%(in weight)rate at 60 days after planting showed a significant positive effect on the number of bacteria forming units,with an increase of approximately 385%.On the other hand,no significant positive effect on sugarcane development was ***,biochar application in high-fertility sugarcane plantation soil did not result in gains for sugarcane development in the periods evaluated.

This paper presents a study of optimization of operational recovery credit default with geoprocessing use through geoprocessing tools, developed in the Receivables Management Companhia de Eletricidade do Estado da Bahia-COELBA sector. The work was initially based on the application of Data Mining Tools for Software KNIME 2.9 and later use of the tool of GIS-ArcGIS 10.X/ESRI .Were evaluated and applied analytical processing algorithms, to improve the process of spatial selection and define the best sets logistical credit recovery： The focus study, based on geoprocessing use in cutting action is due to the fact that this process has the largest collection efficiency. It is understood that the efficiency of the cutting action, should the great importance that electricity has on modem life. The research was guided its evolution from analysis of algorithms agglutination and georeferenced database, whose focus was and is acting in the cutting action due to the fact that this process has the largest collection efficiency. For the implementation of the study, through some geoprocessing techniques, the Mpar-cluster, this optimization model was developed from a custom algorithm for spatial selection, that had with subsidy： information stored in geographic databases, database information alphanumeric, images （aerial photographs and satellite images）, text files, and digital tables.

Recent analysis indicates that the numbers of dengue cases may be as high as 400 million/year in the world. According to the Ministry of Brazilian Health, in 2015, there were 1,621,797 probable cases of dengue in the country including all classifications except discarded, the highest number recorded in the historical series since 1990. Many studies have found associations between climatic conditions and dengue transmission, especially using generalized models. In this study, Generalized Additive Models (GAM) was used associated to visreg package to understand the effect of climatic variables on capitals of Northeast Brazilian, from 2001 to 2012. From 12 climatic variables, it was verified that the relative humidity was the one that obtained the highest correlation to dengue. Afterwards, GAM associated with visreg was applied to understand the effects between them. Relative humidity explains the dengue incidence at an adjusted rate of 78.0% (in São Luis-MA) and 82.3% (in Teresina-PI) delayed in, respectively, -1 and -2 months.

In this work, we present results of an investigation of environmental precursors of infectious epidemic of dengue fever in the Metropolitan Area of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, obtained by a numerical model with representation of infection and reinfection of the population. The period considered extend between 2000 and 2011, in which it was possible to pair meteorological data and the reporting of dengue patients worsening. These data should also be considered in the numerical model, by assimilation, to obtain simulations of Dengue epidemics. The model contains compartments for the human population, for the vector Aedes aegypti and four virus serotypes. The results provide consistent evidence that worsening infection and disease outbreaks are due to the occurrence of environmental precursors, as the dynamics of the accumulation of water in the breeding and energy availability in the form of metabolic activation enthalpy during pre-epidemic periods.

The present study aimed to comparatively analyze the antibacterial activity,combined with antibiotics,and toxicological activity of the essential oil of *** *** its major compound,*** phytochemical analysis of the essential oil was performed by gas chromatography coupled with mass *** minimum inhibitory concentration and combined antibiotic activity were performed by *** melanogaster was the model organism chosen to evaluate the toxicological response of *** chromatographic assay showed eugenol as the major compound of the essential oil of *** *** microbiological assays showed that in terms of antibacterial activity,both products showed similar activity,quite significant in Gram-negatives,such as those of strains of Pseudomonas *** results were verified in the modulatory activity,allowing the verification that the bioactivity performed by the essential oil of *** *** mainly influenced by its major *** the EC50 of the compounds varied subtly,the essential oil was less toxic compared to *** information obtained in the present study demonstrates that the essential oil of *** *** a promising antibacterial agent and better tolerated than its majority compound alone,in the model organism ***.

The digital TV deployment brings to think a new paradigm for the vehicles of mass communication, by inserting mechanisms of interactivity. This means a new way to transmit content and connect the people of a nation and, thus, eventually shows up on various social aspects of a country. Brazil is undergoing a period of definitions and experimentations regarding the implementation of these mechanisms in the programs for digital TV. Therefore, many aspects (technicians and mainly socials) must be taken into account in this phase, because due to the interactivity, it is expected that there will be changes in education, industry, social inclusion, among other areas.

Post-fire Behavior of Ordinary Concrete Reinforced with Short Steel Fibers

Concrete is a widely used material in civil construction and may be submitted to high working temperatures under various circumstances. Many factors influence the behavior of this material at high temperatures, which usually leads to the evaporation of the hydrated cement. The dehydrated cement undergoes a contraction, simultaneously with the thermal expansion of the inert fraction of the material. As a consequence of these conflicting expansions and contractions, the material cracks and its strength and modulus of elasticity decrease significantly. On the other hand, the addition of short metallic fibers to the material increases its toughness, probably due to its action on the cracking behavior of the composite. It is thus expected that a concrete containing metallic fibers should maintain its original properties even after exposure to elevated temperatures. This paper presents an evaluation of the influence of steel fibers on the microstructure and toughness of concretes submitted to high tenaperatures. The bending behavior, under strain rate control, of concretes with a strength of 30 MPa and containing short steel fibers, submitted to a previous treatment at 500 ℃, was analyzed. It was observed that, after both heat treatments, the addition of metallic fibers to concrete was able to maintain the pseudo-ductility and load-carrying capacity of this composite material.

Occupational Performance of Women with Chronic Pelvic Pain and the Potential of Coping as an Unassisted Intervention

Objective: To assess the satisfaction and occupational performance of women with chronic pelvic pain and to discuss unassisted intervention strategies by the occupational therapist for the care of these patients. Methods: A case-control study was conducted on 75 women with chronic pelvic pain and 75 apparently healthy women. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the institution and all subjects gave written informed consent to participate. Pain intensity was determined using a visual analogue scale and each patient was submitted to psycho-metric assessment using the Patient Health Questionnaire, the Self-Reporting Questionnaire of Psychiatric Screening and the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophofobia in their Brazilian version. The main outcomes regarding occupational performance and satisfaction were evaluated using the Canadian Measure of Occupational Performance. Results: The performance and satisfaction scores of women with chronic pelvic pain were significantly lower than those of healthy women. The presence of pain and kinesophobia was directly and independently correlated with low performance and satisfaction scores regardless of ethnicity, marital status, schooling, or psychometric scores. Conclusion: women with chronic pelvic pain present significant impairment of satisfaction and occupational performance. Coping is a potential unassisted intervention strategy to be applied to this population by occupational therapists.
