Objective:Bone metastasis occurs in up to 90%of men with advanced prostate cancer and leads to fractures,severe pain and *** metastases induce a spectrum of types of bone lesions which can respond differently to therapy even within individual prostate cancer ***,the special environment of the bone makes the disease more complicated and incurable.A model in which bone lesions are reproducibly induced that mirrors the complexity seen in patients would be invaluable for pre-clinical testing of novel *** microstructural changes in the femurs of mice implanted with PCSD1,a new patient-derived xenograft from a surgical prostate cancer bone metastasis specimen,were ***:Quantitative micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)and histological analyses were performed to evaluate the effects of direct injection of PCSD1 cells or media alone(Control)into the right femurs of Rag2/gc/male ***:Bone lesions formed only in femurs of mice injected with PCSD1 *** volume(BV)was significantly decreased at the proximal and distal ends of the femurs(phereas BV(phaft diameter(phe femur ***:PCSD1 cells reproducibly induced bone loss leading to osteolytic lesions at the ends of the femur,and,in contrast,induced aberrant bone formation leading to osteoblastic lesions along the femur ***,the interaction of PCSD1 cells with different bone region-specific microenvironments specified the type of bone *** approach can be used to determine if different bone regions support more therapy resistant tumor growth,thus,requiring novel treatments.

We calculate the s-wave scattering length and effective range and the p-wave scattering volume for 7Li atoms interacting with 133Cs atoms via the X1Σ+molecular *** length and volume are found by fitting the log-derivative of the zero energy wave function evaluated at short range to a long range expression that accounts for the leading van der Waals dispersion potential and then incorporating the remaining long range dispersion contributions to first *** effective range is evaluated from a quadrature *** calculated parameters are checked from the zero energy limits of the scattering phase *** comment on ill-conditioning in the calculated s-wave scattering length.

The sexually dimorphic expression of glutamate transporters and their implication in pain after spinal cord injury

The potential of gene therapies for spinal cord injury repair:a systematic review and meta-analysis of pre-clinical studies

Currently,there is no cure for traumatic spinal co rd injury but one therapeutic approach showing promise is gene *** this systematic review and meta-analysis,we aim to assess the efficacy of gene therapies in pre-clinical models of spinal cord injury and the risk of *** this metaanalysis,registe red at PROSPERO(Registration ID:CRD42020185008),we identified relevant controlled in vivo studies published in English by searching the Pubmed,Web of Science,and Embase *** restrictions of the year of publication were applied and the last literature search was conducted on August 3,*** then conducted a random-effects meta-analysis using the restricted maximum likelihood estimator.A total of 71 studies met our inclusion crite ria and were included in the systematic *** results showed that overall,gene therapies were associated with improvements in locomotor score(standardized mean difference[SmD]:2.07,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.68-2.47,Tau^(2)=2.13,I^(2)=83.6%)and axonal regrowth(SmD:2.78,95%CI:1.92-3.65,Tau^(2)=4.13,I^(2)=85.5%).There was significant asymmetry in the funnel plots of both outcome measures indicating the presence of publication *** used a modified CAmARADES(Collaborative Approach to m eta-Analysis and Review of Animal Data in Experimental Studies)checklist to assess the risk of bias,finding that the median score was 4(IQR:3-5).In particula r,reports of allocation concealment and sample size calculations were *** conclusion,gene therapies are showing promise as therapies for spinal co rd injury repair,but there is no consensus on which gene or genes should be targeted.

Free vibration and buckling analysis of polymeric composite beams reinforced by functionally graded bamboo fbers

Natural fibers have been extensively researched as reinforcement materials in polymers on account of their environmental and economic advantages in comparison with synthetic fibers in the recent *** fibers are renowned for their good mechanical properties,abundance,and short cycle *** beams are one of the fundamental structural components and are susceptible to mechanical loads in engineering applications,this paper performs a study on the free vibration and buckling responses of bamboo fiber reinforced composite(BFRC)beams on the elastic *** different functionally graded(FG)layouts and a uniform one are the considered distributions for unidirectional long bamboo fibers across the *** elastic properties of the composite are determined with the law of *** hamilton’s principle,the governing equations of motion are *** generalized differential quadrature method(GDQm)is then applied to the equations to obtain the *** achieved outcomes exhibit that the natural frequency and buckling load values vary as the fiber volume fractions and distributions,elastic foundation stiffness values,and boundary conditions(BCs)and slenderness ratio of the beam ***,a comparative study is conducted between the derived analysis outcomes for BFRC and homogenous polymer beams to examine the effectiveness of bamboo fibers as reinforcement materials,demonstrating the significant enhancements in both vibration and buckling responses,with the exception of natural frequencies for cantilever beams on the Pasternak foundation with the FG-◇fiber ***,the obtained analysis results of BFRC beams are also compared with those for carbon nanotube reinforced composite(CNTRC)beams found in the literature,indicating that the buckling loads and natural frequencies of BFRC beams are lower than those of CNTRC beams.

Analytical model for thermal lensing and spherical aberration in diode side-pumped Nd:YAG laser rod having Gaussian pump profile

In this paper, according to the temperature and strain distribution obtained by considering the Gaussian pump profile and dependence of physical properties on temperature, we derive an analytical model for refractive index variations of the diode side-pumped Nd：YAG laser rod. Then we evaluate this model by numerical solution and our maximum relative errors are 5% and 10% for variations caused by thermo–optical and thermo–mechanical effects; respectively. Finally, we present an analytical model for calculating the focal length of the thermal lens and spherical aberration. This model is evaluated by experimental results.

microstructure evolution of a recycled Al-Fe-Si-Cu alloy processed by tube channel pressing

Although excellent recyclability is one of the advantages of Al alloys, a recycling process can reduce different properties of these alloys by adding coarse AlFeSi particles into the alloys' microstructures. One of the well-known methods for modifying the microstructure of metallic materials is the imposition of severe plastic deformation(SPD). Nevertheless, the microstructure evolutions of recycled Al alloys containing extraordinary fractions of AlFeSi particles during SPD processing have seldom been considered. The aim of the present work is to study the microstructure evolution of a recycled Al–Fe–Si–Cu alloy during SPD processing. For this purpose, tubular specimens of the mentioned alloy were subjected to different numbers of passes of a recently developed SPD process called tube channel pressing(TCP); their microstructures were then studied using different techniques. The results show that coarse AlFeSi particles are fragmented into finer particles after processing by TCP. however, decomposition and dissolution of AlFeSi particles through TCP processing are negligible. In addition, TCP processing results in an increase in hardness of the alloy, which is attributed to the refinement of grains, to an increase of the dislocation density, and to the fragmentation of AlFeSi particles.

Solvability of a class of PT-symmetric non-hermitian hamiltonians：Bethe ansatz method

We use the Bethe ansatz method to investigate the Schrdinger equation for a class of PT-symmetric non-hermitian hamiltonians. Elementary exact solutions for the eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions are obtained in terms of the roots of a set of algebraic equations. Also, it is shown that the problems possess sl（2） hidden symmetry and then the exact solutions of the problems are obtained by employing the representation theory of sl（2） Lie algebra. It is found that the results of the two methods are the same.

This paper presents the stability of difference approximations of an optimal control problem for a quasilinear parabolic equation with controls in the coefficients, boundary conditions and additional restrictions. The optimal control problem has been convered to one of the optimization problem using a penalty function technique. The difference approximations problem for the considered problem is obtained. The estimations of stability of the solution of difference approximations problem are proved. The stability estimation of the solution of difference approximations problem by the controls is obtained.

Influence of Zn^(2+)or Cu^(2+) on Reduction and Recalcination Behavior of Fe_2TiO_5

Fe2O3, TiO2, CuO and ZnO powders were mixed according to the formula of （1-x）TiO2 xCuO-Fe2O3 or （1-x）TiO2 xZnO-Fe2O3 （x=0, 0.2 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1）, and well ball-milled with h2O for 3 h to ensure homogeneity of the powdered solids, then fired at 1200℃ for 4 h. The fired samples were reduced at 500℃ with hydrogen gas. The reduced samples were subjected to recalcination at 500℃ in CO2 atmosphere. Both of fired, reduced and calcined samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometry, reflected light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Different phases were formed after firing of Cu^＋2 or Zn^2＋ substituted Fe2TiO5. magnetization （Bs） of the formed phases after firing are very low corresponding to diluted magnetic semiconductors （DmS） and increases with increasing the substituted cations （Cu^＋2 or Zn^2＋）. The reduction of the fired samples enhanced the Bs values whereas the reducibility increases with increasing the Cu^＋2 or Zn^2＋ content. Samples show different tendency toward CO2 decomposition which is very important for environmental minimization for CO2.
