AIm:To compare the prevalence of Functional gastrointestinal disorders(FGIDs)using ROmEⅢand ROmEⅡand to describe predictors of FGIDs among eating disorder(ED)***:Two similar cohorts of female ED inpatients,aged 17-50 years,with no organic gastrointestinal or systemic disorders,completed either the ROmEⅢ(n=100)or the ROmEⅡ(n=160)questionnaire on admission for ED *** two ROmE cohorts were compared on continuous demographic variables(e.g.,age,BmI)using Student’s t-tests,and on categorical variables(e.g.,ED diagnosis)usingχ*** relationship between ED diagnostic subtypes and FGID categories was explored usingχ***,BmI,and psychological and behavioural predictors of the common(prevalence greater than 20%)ROmEⅢFGIDs were tested using logistic regression ***:The criteria for at least one FGID were fulfilled by 83%of the ROmEⅢcohort,and 94%of the ROmEⅡ*** were no significant differences in age,BmI,lowest ever BmI,ED diagnostic subtypes or ED-related quality of life(QOL)scores between ROmEⅡand ROmEⅢ*** most prevalent FGIDs using ROmEⅢwere postprandial distress syndrome(PDS)(45%)and irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)(41%),followed by unspecified functional bowel disorders(U-FBD)(24%),and functional heartburn(FH)(22%).There was a 29%or 46%increase(depending on presence or absence of cyclic vomiting)in functional gastroduodenal disorders because of the introduction of PDS in ROmEⅢcompared to ROmEⅡ.There was a 35%decrease in functional bowel disorders(FBD)in RomeⅢ(excluding U-FBD)compared to ROmEⅡ.The most significant predictor of PDS was starvation(P=0.008).The predictor of FH(P=0.021)and U-FBD(P=0.007)was somatisation,and of IBS laxative use(P=0.025).Age and BmI were not significant *** addition of the 6-mo duration of symptoms requirement for a diagnosis in ROmEⅢadded precision to many ***:ROmEⅢconfers higher precision in diagnosing FGIDs but self-induced vomiting should be excluded from the

AIm： To determine whether neutrophil depletion and Kupffer cell inhibition might combine their protective effects to decrease the severity of acute pancreatitis. mETHODS： Nice had cerulein administration to induce acute pancreatitis and were pretreated with either anti-mouse neutrophil serum or gadolinium chloride （GdCh） to prevent Kupffer cell activation, or both treatments. Injury was assessed in pancreas and lungs. myeloperoxidases （mPO） assessed neutrophil infiltration. Interleukin-6 （IL-6） and IL-10 were measured in serum, pancreas, lungs and liver. RESULTS： In mice with acute pancreatitis, neutrophil depletion reduced the severity of pancreatitis and pancreatitis-associated lung injury. Kupffer cell inactivation by GdCh had less protective effect, although IL-6 and IL-10 concentrations were significantly decreased. The protective treatment brought by neutrophil depletion was not enhanced by Kupffer cell inactivation and both treatments did not combine their protective effects. CONCLUSION： Our results confirm the role of activated neutrophils in aggravating organ injury in acute pancreatitis while the role of Kupffer cell activation is less obvious.

We use the Atiyah-Bott-Segal-Singer Lefschetz fixed point fornula to calculate the Hirzebruch Xy genus Xy(S[n]), where S[n] is the Hilbert scheme of points of length n of a surface 5. Combinatorial interpretation of the weights of the fixed points of the natural torus action on (C2)[n] is used. This is the first step to prove a conjectural formula about the elliptic genus of the Hilbert schemes.

BACKGROUND： Rifampicin inhibits the formation of a-synuclein multimer and protects against 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyritine （mPTP）-induced PC12 cell apoptosis. OBJECTIVE： To compare the effect of rifampicin pre- and post-treatment on tyrosine hydroxylase and α-synuclein expression in substantia nigra pars compacta in a rat model of Parkinson＇s disease. DESIGN, TImE AND SE＇B＇ING： A randomized, controlled experiment was performed at the Experimental Animal Center of Sun Yat-sen University North Campus （China） from November 2006 to October 2008. mATERIALS： Rifampicin was purchased from mD, USA; rotenone was purchased from Sigma, USA; mouse anti-rat α-synuclein monoclonal antibody was purchased from B＆D, USA; and rabbit anti-rat tyrosine hydroxylase monoclonal antibody was purchased from Chemicon, USA. mETHODS： A total of 72 male, Sprague Dawley rats, aged 8 weeks, were randomly assigned to 5 groups： blank control （n = 12）, rifampicin （n = 12）, rotenone （n = 16）, rifampicin pre-treatment （n = 16）, and rifampicin post-treatment （n = 16）. Parkinson＇s disease model rats were established via a subcutaneous injection of rotenone （1.5 mg/kg per day） in the three treatment groups, once a day for 3 successive weeks. Rifampicin （30 mg/kg per day） was intragastrically administered in the rifampicin pre-treatment group 3 days prior to rotenone induction and in the rifampicin post-treatment group 7 days after rotenone induction. Rats were treated with a subcutaneous injection of 1 mL/kg per day sunflower oil in the blank control group and an intragastric injection of 30 mg/kg per day rifampicin in the rifampicin group, once a day for 3 successive weeks in total. mAIN OUTCOmE mEASURES： Prior to treatment and in the end of the 3^rd week after treatment, the rats were evaluated using the modified neurological severity score. Plant quality can directly and indirectly affect the third trophic level. The predation by all the instars of green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea （S.）（Neuroptera： Chrysopidae） on the cereal aphids, Rhopalosiphum padi （L.）, and Sitobion avenae （F.） at varying nitrogen fertilizer levels was calculated under laboratory conditions. Wheat plants were grown on four nitrogen fertilizer levels and aphids were fed on these plants and subsequently offered as food to the C. carnea. Aphid densities of 10, 30, and 90 were offered to first, second, and third instar larvae of green lacewing. Increased nitrogen application improved nitrogen contents of the plants and also the body weight of cereal aphids feeding on them. Aphid consumption by green lacewings was reduced with the increase in nitrogen content in the host plants of aphids. Predation of both aphid species by first, second, and third instars larvae of C. carnea was highest on aphids reared on plants with the lowest rate of fertilization, suggesting a compensatory consumption to overcome reduced biomass （lower aphid size）. Total biomass devoured by C. carnea on all nitrogen fertilizer treatments was not statistically different. Additionally, the heavier host prey influenced by the plant nutrition had an effect on the life history characteristics of green lacewings. The larval duration, pupal weight, pupal duration, fecundity, and male and female longevity were significantly affected by the level of nitrogen fertilization to the aphid＇s host plants, except for pupal duration when fed on S. avenae. This study showed that quantity of prey supplied to the larvae affects the prey consumption and thereafter the life history characteristics of green lacewings.

The development of reliable catalysts with both excellent activity and recyclability for carbon dioxide(CO_(2))hydrogenation is ***,a ternary hybrid heterogeneous catalyst,involving mononuclear Ru complex,N,P-containing porous organic polymers(POPs),and mesoporous hollow carbon spheres(Ru^(3+)-POPs@mHCS)is reported for CO_(2)hydrogenation to *** on comprehensive structural analyses,we demonstrated that Ru^(3+)-POPs were successfully immobilized within *** optimized Ru^(3+)-0.5POPs@mHCS catalyst,which was obtained with about 5 wt.%Ru^(3+)and 0.5 mmol POPs polymers confined into 0.3 g mHCS,exhibited high catalytic activity for CO_(2)hydrogenation to formate(turnover number(TON)>1,200 for 24 h under mild reaction conditions(4.0 mPa,120℃))and improved durability,compared to Ru^(3+)catalysts without POPs polymers(Ru^(3+)-mHCS)and unencapsulated mHCS(Ru^(3+)-0.5POPs)*** improved catalytic performance is attributed to the high surface area and large pore volume of mHCS which favors dispersion and stabilization of Ru^(3+)-***,the mHCS and POPs showed high CO_(2)adsorption ***^(3+)-POPs encapsulated into mHCS reduces the activation energy barrier for CO_(2)hydrogenation to formate.

There is growing interest in the ability of phytochemicals to prevent chronicdiseases,such as cancer and heart ***,some of these agents havepoor bioavailability and many of the in-depth studies into their mechanisms ofaction have been carried out in vitro using doses which are unachievable *** order to optimize the design of chemopreventive treatment,it is impor-tant to determine which of the many reported mechanisms of action are *** this review we consider the physiologically achievable doses for afew of the best studied agents (indole-3-carbinol,diindolylmethane,curcumin,epigallocatechin-3-gallate and resveratrol) and summarize the data derived fromstudies using these low concentrations in cell *** then cite examples of invitro effects which have been observed in ***,the ability of agentcombinations to act synergistically or antagonistically is *** con-clude that each of the compounds shows an encouraging range of activities invitro at concentrations which are likely to be physiologically *** arealso many examples of in vivo studies which validate in vitro *** consideration is that combinations of agents can result in significantactivity at concentrations where any single agent is ***,for each of thecompounds reviewed here,in vitro studies have provided useful insights intotheir mechanisms of action in ***,data are lacking on the full rangeof activities at low doses in vitro and the benefits or otherwise of combinations invivo.
