Enhanced environmental surveillance for avian influenza A/H5,H7 and H9 viruses in Guangxi,China,2017-2019

We conducted environmental surveillance to detect avian influenza viruses circulating at live poultry markets(LPms)and poultry farms in Guangxi Autonomous Region,China,where near the China-Vietnam *** November through April 2017-2018 and 2018-2019,we collected environmental samples from 14 LPms,4 poultry farms,and 5 households with backyard poultry in two counties of Guangxi and tested for avian influenza A,H5,H7,and H9 by real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(rRT-PCR).In addition,we conducted four cross-sectional questionnaire surveys among stall owners on biosecurity practices in LPms of two study *** 16,713 environmental specimens collected and tested,the median weekly positive rate for avian influenza A was 53.6%(range=33.5%-66.0%),including 25.2%for H9,4.9%for H5,and 21.2%for other avian influenza viruses A subtypes,whereas a total of two H7 positive samples were *** the 189 LPm stalls investigated,most stall owners(73.0%)sold chickens and ***,continued surveillance of the avian influenza virus is necessary for detecting and responding to emerging trends in avian influenza virus epidemiology.

Variations of properties across plate thickness for Al alloy 7010

The variations of electrical conductivity and hardness across the thickness of an Al alloy 7010 plate under the temper condition T7651 were investigated. The electrical conductivity and hardness respond in a reciprocal manner. Cross-sectional slices of the plate subjected to re-solutionising/natural ageing and re-solutionising/artificial ageing show the similar tendencies in property changes as in the as-received raw material. This clearly suggests that the property inhomogeneity across the plate thickness is inherent of the manufacturing route. The differences in properties through the plate thickness are due to the changes in the concentrations of the strengthening alloying elements in the solid solution and the associated changes in microstructure; these are believed to be mainly due to the nature of plate solidification and prolonged high temperature during the rolling operation. The combination of electrical conductivity and hardness can be used as an integral quality property indicator for assessing inhomogeneity of thick products.

FOXP3 and Its Cofactors as Targets of Immunotherapies

Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3) is a “master regulator” of regulatory T cells (Tregs), which are a subset of T cells that can suppress the antigen-specific immune reaction and that play important roles in host tolerance and immune homeostasis. It is well known that FOXP3 forms complexes with several proteins and can be regulated by various post-translational modifications (PTms) such as acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and methylation. As a consequence, the PTms change the stability of FOXP3 and its capability to regulate gene expression, and eventually affect Treg activity. Although FOXP3 per se is not an ideal drug target, deacetylases, acetyltransferases, kinases, and other enzymes that regulate the PTms of FOXP3 are potential targets to modulate FOXP3 and Treg activity. However, FOXP3 is not the only substrate for most of these enzymes;thus, unwanted ‘‘on target/off FOXP3” side effects must be considered when inhibitors to these enzymes are used. In this review, we summarize recent progress in the study of FOXP3 cofactors and PTm proteins, and potential clinical applications in autoimmunity and cancer immunity.

Z α-1 antitrypsin deficiency and the endoplasmic reticulum stress response

The serine proteinase inhibitor α-1 antitrypsin(AAT) is produced principally by the liver at the rate of 2 g/*** is secreted into the circulation and provides an antiprotease protective screen throughout the body but most importantly in the lung,where it can neutralise the activity of the serine protease neutrophil *** leading to def iciency in AAT are associated with liver and lung *** most notable is the Z AAT mutation,which encodes a misfolded variant of the AAT protein in which the glutamic acid at position 342 is replaced by a *** than 95% of all individuals with AAT def iciency carry at least one Z *** protein is not secreted effectively and accumulates intracellularly in the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) of hepatocytes and other AAT-producing *** results in a loss of function associated with decreased circulating and intrapulmonary levels of ***,the misfolded protein acquires a toxic gain of function that impacts on the ER.A major function of the ER is to ensure correct protein *** interferes with this function and promotes ER stress responses and *** the signalling pathways activated during ER stress in response to accumulation of ZAAT are described and therapeutic strategies that can potentially relieve ER stress are discussed.

运用生物标记物及碳同位素等地化参数对吐鲁番 -哈密盆地的原油及其源岩进行了油源对比 ,结果将该区原油分为三类 :第一类原油 ,根据生标特征分析其具有显著的淡水环境、藻含量低、细菌影响大、C2 9甾烷含量高、C3 04α 甲基甾烷低、C2 4 四环烷和C19三环烷含量高和碳同位素偏重 (δ13 C为 - 2 5‰～ - 2 7‰ )的特点 ,初步对比结果 ,本区西山窑组的煤是该类原油的主要源岩 ;第二类原油 ,富含藻类物质 (C2 7甾烷与C3 0 4α 甲基甾烷含量较高 ) ,该类原油可能来自侏罗系的富藻湖相泥岩 ;第三类原油 ,全油碳同位素δ13 C为 - 30‰～ - 32‰ ,这类原油的生标反映出其源岩相的特征为缺氧、咸水、中等含藻的湖相沉积 (高含量的伽玛蜡烷和 β 胡萝卜烷 ,C3 5/C3 4藿烷比值大等 )。

The organization of societal conflicts by pavement ants Tetramorium caespitum： an agent-based model of amine-mediated decision making

Ant colonies self-organize to solve complex problems despite the simplicity of an individual ant's brain. Pavement ant Tetramorium caespitum colonies must solve the problem of defending the territory that they patrol in search of energetically rich forage. When members of 2 colonies randomly interact at the territory boundary a decision to fight occurs when: 1) there is a mismatch in nestmate recognition cues and 2) each ant has a recent history of high interaction rates with nestmate ants. Instead of fighting, some ants will decide to recruit more workers from the nest to the fighting location, and in this way a positive feedback mediates the development of colony wide wars. In ants, the monoamines serotonin (5-HT) and octopamine (OA) modulate many behaviors associated with colony organization and in particular behaviors associated with nestmate recognition and aggression. In this article, we develop and explore an agent-based model that conceptualizes how individual changes in brain concentrations of 5-HT and OA, paired with a simple threshold-based decision rule, can lead to the development of colony wide warfare. model simulations do lead to the development of warfare with 91% of ants fighting at the end of 1 h. When conducting a sensitivity analysis, we determined that uncertainty in monoamine concentration signal decay influences the behavior of the model more than uncertainty in the decision-making rule or density. We conclude that pavement ant behavior is consistent with the detection of interaction rate through a single timed interval rather than integration of multiple interactions.

根据原油生物标记化合物有关参数的聚类分析 ,将吐哈盆地原油分成源于侏罗纪煤系沼泽相 (包括煤为源岩 )的第一类原油 ,源于中、下侏罗统过渡相富藻碳质泥岩和富藻煤的第二类原油和源于上二叠统塔尔郎组湖相泥岩的第三类原油。根据原油中生物标记物的年代学特征 ,提出利用二萜烷指数将侏罗系的原油 (二萜烷指数 >0 8)与上二叠统的原油 (二萜烷指数 <0 5 )加以区别的方法。根据不同沉积相带原油和相应源岩饱和烃组分中17 降扁枝烷和 5a 雄甾烷以及芳烃中的三芳甾系列化合物进行了精细的油源对比 ,确定了本区三类原油的 17 降扁枝烷、5a 雄甾烷和三芳甾系列化合物的分布特征及沉积相序关系 ,进一步从油源对比的角度证明了本区存在源于中、下侏罗统的具有商业价值的煤成油。
