In real scenarios,the spacecraft deviates from the intended paths owing to uncertainties in dynamics,navigation,and command *** quantifying these uncertainties is crucial for assessing the observability,collision risks,and mission *** issue is further magnified for CubeSats because they have limited control authority and thus require accurate dispersion estimates to avoid rejecting viable trajectories or selecting unviable *** uncertainties arise from random variables(e.g.,measurement errors and drag coefficients)and processes(e.g.,solar radiation pressure and low-thrust acceleration).Although random variables generally present minimal computational complexity,handling stochastic processes can be challenging because of their noisy ***,accurately modeling these processes is essential,as they significantly influence the uncertain propagation of space trajectories,and an inadequate representation can result in either underestimation or overestimation of the stochastic characteristics associated with a given *** study addresses the gap in characterizing process uncertainties,represented as Gauss–Markov processes in mission analysis,by presenting models,evaluating derived quantities,and providing results on the impact of spacecraft *** study emphasizes the importance of accurately modeling random processes to properly characterize stochastic spacecraft paths.

Earthquakes pose significant risks globally,necessitating effective seismic risk mitigation strategies like earthquake early warning(EEW)***,developing and optimizing such systems requires thoroughly understanding their internal procedures and coverage *** study examines a deep-learning-based on-site EEW framework known as ROSERS(Real-time On-Site Estimation of Response Spectra)proposed by the authors,which constructs response spectra from early recorded ground motion waveforms at a target *** study has three primary goals:(1)evaluating the effectiveness and applicability of ROSERS to subduction seismic sources;(2)providing a detailed interpretation of the trained deep neural network(dNN)and surrogate latent variables(LVs)implemented in ROSERS;and(3)analyzing the spatial efficacy of the framework to assess the coverage area of on-site EEW *** is retrained and tested on a dataset of around 11,000 unprocessed Japanese subduction ground ***-of-fit testing shows that the ROSERS framework achieves good performance on this database,especially given the peculiarities of the subduction seismic *** trained dNN and LVs are then interpreted using game theory-based Shapley additive explanations to establish cause-effect ***,the study explores the coverage area of ROSERS by training a novel spatial regression model that estimates the LVs using geographically weighted random forest and determining the radius of *** results indicate that on-site predictions can be considered reliable within a 2–9 km radius,varying based on the magnitude and distance from the earthquake *** information can assist end-users in strategically placing sensors,minimizing blind spots,and reducing errors from regional extrapolation.

The application of a gate voltage to control the superconducting current flowing through a nanoscale superconducting constriction,named as gate-controlled supercurrent(GCS),has raised great interest for fundamental and technological *** gain a deeper understanding of this effect and develop superconducting technologies based on it,the material and physical parameters crucial for the GCS effect must be ***-down fabrication protocols should also be optimized to increase device scalability,although studies suggest that top-down fabricated devices are more resilient to show a ***,we investigate gated superconducting nanobridges made with a top-down fabrication process from thin films of the noncentrosymmetric superconductor niobium rhenium with varying ratios of the constituents(NbRe).Unlike other devices previously reported and made with a top-down approach,our NbRe devices systematically exhibit a GCS effect when they were fabricated from NbRe thin films with small grain size and etched in specific *** observations pave the way for the realization of top-down-made GCS devices with high *** results also imply that physical parameters like structural disorder and surface physical properties of the nanobridges,which can be in turn modified by the fabrication process,are crucial for a GCS observation,providing therefore also important insights into the physics underlying the GCS effect.

等级孔分子筛是一类具有两种或多种以特定形式排布的孔结构的分子筛材料.多层等级的孔结构使得分子筛孔道内的分子扩散得到显著改善,进而提升了其在吸附和非均相催化等领域的应用性能.等级孔分子筛的制备策略通常有两种,即“自上而下”后处理法(如对母样分子筛进行脱铝、脱硅产生介孔)和“自下而上”合成法(如软模板、硬模板法).本文主要对近20年来等级孔分子筛的合成方法进行了梳理,并着重介绍了具有较高应用潜力的“自上而下”制备法.鉴于合成等级孔分子筛的主要目的是提高分子的晶内扩散,对近年来客体分子在等级孔分子筛内扩散的实验研究也进行了简要综述.此外,本文还综合评述了等级孔分子筛与传统分子筛在催化应用中的对比,以展示前者在提升催化性能方面(如活性、选择性等)的独特优势.

Recent earthquakes in the Sichuan Province have contributed to significantly expand the existing ground-motion database for China with new,high-quality ground-motion *** study investigated the compatibility of ground-motion prediction equations(GMPEs)established by the NGA-West2 project in the US and local GMPEs for China,with respect to magnitude scaling,distance scaling,and site scaling implied by recent Chinese strong-motion *** NGA-West2 GMPEs for shallow crustal earthquakes in tectonically active regions are considerably more sophisticated than widely used previous models,particularly in *** a mixed-effects procedure,the study evaluated event terms(inter-event residuals)and intra-event residuals of Chinese data relative to the NGA-West2 *** scaling was investigated by examining trends of intra-event residuals with source-to-site *** with respect to site conditions was investigated by examining trends of intra-event residuals with soil *** study also investigated other engineering characteristics of Chinese strong ground *** particular,the records were analyzed for evidence of pulse-like forward-directivity *** elastic median response spectra of the selected stations were compared to code-mandated design spectra for various mean return *** showed that international and local GMPEs can be applied for seismic hazard analysis in Sichuan with minor modification of the regression coefficients related to the source-to-site distance and soil ***,the Chinese data attenuated faster than implied by the considered GMPEs and the differences were statistically significant in some ***-source,pulse-like ground motions were identified at two recording stations for the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake,possibly implying rupture *** median recorded spectra were consistent with the code-based spectra in terms of amplitude and *** new ground-motion data can be used to deve

Self-centering earthquake-resistant structures have received increased attention due to their ability to reduce post-earthquake residual deformations and,thus,repair time and *** stimulated the development of recentering shape memory alloy(SMA)dampers that use superelastic nitinol wires to dissipate energy and self-center the ***,there are still a few case studies applications on full-scale RC buildings in the ***,general guidelines or even simplified approaches for the practical design of SMA damped braces are still *** paper focuses on evaluating the effect of using self-centering shape memory alloy dampers for buckling-restrained braces applied for the seismic retrofit of a complex RC building structure.A design method originally proposed for elastoplastic dampers was implemented to size the SMA dampers to be placed on selected spans and stories of a *** effectiveness of the design procedure was demonstrated by nonlinear time-history analyses under different sets of earthquake strong ground *** analysis results show that the recentering shape memory alloy bracing system is effective in limiting the maximum transient inter-story drifts and reducing the residual inter-story drifts after strong seismic events,due to its excellent recentering behavior together with its not negligible energy dissipation capacity.

The purpose of this review was to highlight, in relation to the currently accepted pathophysiology of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLd), the known exercise habits of patients with NAFLd and to detail the benefits of lifestyle modification with exercise (and/or physical activity) on parameters of metabolic syndrome. More rigorous, controlled studies of longer duration and defined histopathological end-points comparing exercise alone and other treatment are needed before better, evidence-based physical activity modification guidelines can be established, since several questions remain unanswered.
