Influence of microwave on chromium complex composition in tanning liquor

Since microwave irradiation could promote hydrolysis and olation of chromium tanning liquor,but the influence of microwave on chromium complex component in the liquor was still *** sulphate solution(0%basicity)and 33%basicity chromium tanning liquor were subjected microwave(MW)and water bath(WB)heating,and the samples without any warming were regarded as *** exchange chromatography(IEC)and gel filtration chromatography(GFC)were used to measure the charge composition and molecular size of chromium complexes in each ***-IR was used to characterize the structure of chromium complexes in each composition separated by ***,the chromium tanning liquor after warming was used in hide powder tanning trials to illustrate whether microwave would affect its tanning *** results show there are more high positive charge and large molecular size complexes in chromium tanning liquor after warming but the phenomena are more significant in MW samples compared with WB due to non-thermal effect of *** addition,microwave has more powerful effect on 33%basicity chromium tanning liquor hydrolysis and olation to generate larger molecular size *** FT-IR results,the combination pattern between chromium and ligands are changed after warming but there is no difference between WB and *** chromium exhaustion and thermal stability of hide powder tanned with chromium tanning liquor after microwave irradiation are both *** could conclude that both thermal and non-thermal effects of microwave promote the process together,and the nonthermal effect leads to more high positive charge and large molecular size complexes and has stronger influence on high polarity *** short,this work would provide theoretical basis for applying microwave in tanning agent modification and chrome tanning process further.

Highly Fluorescent Dye-Doped Silica Nanoparticles Increase Flow Cytometry Sensitivity for Cancer Cell Monitoring

Improved resource allocation strategy in SU-CoMP network

Coordinated multi-point transmission and reception （CoMP） for single user, named as SU-CoMP, is considered as an efficient approach to mitigate inter-cell interference in orthogonal frequency division multiple access （OFDMA） systems. Two prevalent approaches in SU-CoMP are coordinated scheduling （CS） and joint processing （JP）. Although JP in SU-CoMP has been proved to achieve a great link performance improvement for the cell-edge user, efficient resource allocation （RA） on the system level is quite needed. However, so far limited work has been done considering JP, and most existing schemes achieved the improvement of cell-edge performance at cost of the cell-average performance degradation compared to the single cell RA. In this paper, a two-phase strategy is proposed for SU-CoMP networks. CS and JP are combined to improve both cell-edge and cell-average performance. Compared to the single cell RA, simulation results demonstrate that, the proposed strategy leads to both higher cell-average and cell-edge throughput.

Multi-beam cooperative frequency reuse for coordinated multi-point transmission

Coordinated multi-point （CoMP） joint transmission is considered in the 3rd generation partnership project （3GPP） long term evolution （LTE）-advanced as a key technique to mitigate inter-cell interference and improve the cell-edge performance. To effectively apply CoMP joint transmission,efficient frequency reuse schemes need to be designed to support resource management cooperation among coordinated cells. However,most of the existing frequency reuse schemes are not suitable for CoMP systems due to not considering multi-point joint transmission scenarios in their frequency reuse rules. In addition,the restrictions of frequency resources in those schemes result in a high blocking probability. To solve the above two problems,a multi-beam cooperative frequency reuse （MBCFR） scheme is proposed in this paper,which reuses all the available frequency resources in each sector and supports multi-beam joint transmission for cell-edge users. Besides,the blocking probability is proved to be efficiently reduced. Moreover,a frequency-segment-sequence based MBCFR scheme is introduced to further reduce the inter-cell interference. System level simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme results in higher cell-edge average throughput and cell-average throughput with lower blocking probability.

Hydrogen atmosphere pulsating white dwarfs,also known as DAV stars,are the most abundant type of pulsating white ***-temperature DAV stars in general exhibit a small number of pulsation modes and stable frequencies.G132-12 is one of the pulsating hydrogen atmosphere white dwarf stars which lies close to the blue edge of the instability *** researches reported that G132-12 might have only one pulsation mode with the period of 212.69 *** study the pulsation properties of G132-12 in detail,we carried out a bi-site observation campaign in October *** series photometric data were collected during around 154 h in total.A Fourier analysis reveals three frequencies which are identified as the triplet of an l=1 g-mode pulsation with the period of 212.499 *** rotational period is derived as Prot=35.0±6.7 h and the inclination of the rotational axis to the line of sight is 70°.G132-12 could be an ideal target for measuring the cooling scale of this white dwarf star with only one excited pulsation mode detected.

Prognostic significance of vascular endothelial growth factor polymorphisms in colorectal cancer patients

AIM To investigate the associations of the genetic polymor-phisms of vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A)-1498C>T and-634G>C, with the survival of patients with colorectal cancer(CRC). METHODS A prospective cohort consisting of 131 Brazilians patients consecutively operated on with a curative intention as a result of sporadic colorectal carcinoma was studied. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood and its amplification and allelic discrimination for each genetic polymorphism was performed using the technique of polymerase chain reaction(PCR) in real-time. The real-time PCR technique was used to identify the VEGF-A-1498C>T(rs833031) and-634G>C(rs2010963) polymorphisms. Genotyping was validated for VEGF-A-1498C>T polymorphism in 129 patients and for VEGF-A-634G>C polymorphism in 118 patients. The analysis of association between categorical variables was performed using logistic regression, survival by Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate analysis by the Cox regression method. RESULTS In the univariate analysis there was a significant association(OR = 0.32; P = 0.048) between genotype CC of the VEGF-A-1498C>T polymorphism and the presence of CRC liver metastasis. There was no association between VEGF-A-1498C>T polymorphism and VEGF-A-634G>C polymorphism with further clinical or anatomopathologic variables. The genotype CC of the VEGF-A-1498C>T polymorphism was significantly correlated with the 5-year survival(P = 0.032), but not significant difference(P = 0.27) was obtained with the VEGF-A-634G>C polymorphism with the 5-year survival in the univariate analysis. The genotype CT(HR = 2.79) and CC(HR = 4.67) of the polymorphism VEGF-A-1498C>T and the genotype CC(HR = 3.76) of the polymorphism VEGF-A-634C>G acted as an independent prognostic factor for the risk of death in CRC patients. CONCLUSION The CT and CC genotypes of the VEGF-A-1498C>T and the CC genotype of the VEGF-A-634C>G polymorphisms are prognostic factors of survival in Brazilians patients with spora
