Alert.ng drivers about.incoming emergency vehicles and t.eir rout.s can great.y improve t.eir t.avel t.me in congest.d cit.es, while reducing t.e risk of accident. due t. dist.act.ons. t.is paper cont.ibut.s t. t.is goal by proposing Messiah, an Android applicat.on capable of informing regular vehicles about.incoming emergency vehicles like ambulances, police cars and fire brigades. t.is is made possible by creat.ng a net.ork of vehicles capable of direct.y communicat.ng bet.een t.em. t.e user can, t.erefore, t.ke driving decisions in a t.mely manner by considering incoming alert.. Using t.e support.of our GRCBox hardware, t.e applicat.on can rely on vehicular ad-hoc net.ork communicat.ons in t.e 5 GHz band, being V2V （vehicle-t.-vehicle） communicat.on provided t.rough a combinat.on of Android-based smart.hone and our GRCBox device. t.e applicat.on was t.st.d in t.ree different.scenarios wit. different.levels of obst.uct.on, showing t.at.it.is capable of providing alert. up t. 300 met.rs, and not.fying vehicles wit.in less t.an one second.
