The primary goal in the analysis of hierarchical distributed monitoring and control architectures is to study the spatiotemporal patterns of the interactions between areas or *** this paper,a novel conceptual framework for distributed monitoring of power system oscillations using multiblock principal component analysis(MB-pCA)and higher-order singular value decomposition(HOSVD)is proposed to understand,characterize,and visualize the global behavior of the power *** proposed framework can be used to evaluate the influence of a given area or utility on the oscillatory behavior,uncover low-dimensional structures from high-dimensional data,and analyze the effects of heterogeneous data on the modal characteristics and interpretation of power *** metrics are then investigated to examine the relationships between the dynamic patterns and participation of individual data blocks in the global behavior of the *** application of these techniques is demonstrated by case studies of two systems:a 14-machine test system and a 5449-bus 635-generator equivalent model of a large power system.

AIM： To compare the cleansing quality of polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution and sodium phosphate with different schedules of administration, and to evaluate whether the timing of the administration of bowel preparation affects the detection of polyps. METHODS： One hundred and seventy-seven consecutive outpatients scheduled for colonoscopy were randomized in one of four groups to receive polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution or oral sodium phosphate with two different timing schedules. Quality of cleansing, polyp detection, and tolerance were evaluated. RESULTS： patients receiving polyethylene glycol or sodium phosphate on the same day as the colonoscopy, obtained good to excellent global cleansing scores more frequently than patients who received polyethylene glycol or sodium phosphate on the day prior to the procedure （p 〈 0.001）. Flat lesions, but not fiat adenomas, were more frequent in patients prepared on the same day （p = 0.02）. CONCLUSION： The quality of colonic cleansing and the detection of fiat lesions are significantly improved when the preparation is taken on the day of the colonoscopy.

AIMTo analyse the impact of octogenarian donors in liver *** present a retrospective single-center study, performed between November 1996 and March 2015, that comprises a sample of 153 liver transplants. Recipients were divided into two groups according to liver donor age: recipients of donors ≤ 65 years (group A; n = 102), and recipients of donors ≥ 80 years (group B; n = 51). A comparative analysis between the groups was performed. Quantitative variables were expressed as mean values and SD, and qualitative variables as percentages. Differences in properties between qualitative variables were assessed by χp>2p> test. Comparison of quantitative variables was made by t-test. Graft and patient survivals were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier ***, 3 and 5-year overall patient survival was 87.3%, 84% and 75.2%, respectively, in recipients of younger grafts vs 88.2%, 84.1% and 66.4%, respectively, in recipients of octogenarian grafts (p = 0.748). One, 3 and 5-year overall graft survival was 84.3%, 83.1% and 74.2%, respectively, in recipients of younger grafts vs 84.3%, 79.4% and 64.2%, respectively, in recipients of octogenarian grafts (p = 0.524). After excluding the patients with hepatitis C virus cirrhosis (16 in group A and 10 in group B), the 1, 3 and 5-year patient (p = 0.657) and graft (p = 0.419) survivals were practically the same in both groups. Multivariate Cox regression analysis demonstrated that overall patient survival was adversely affected by cerebrovascular donor death, hepatocarcinoma, and recipient preoperative bilirubin, and overall graft survival was adversely influenced by cerebrovascular donor death, and recipient preoperative *** standard criteria for utilization of octogenarian liver grafts are: normal gross appearance and consistency, normal or almost normal liver tests, hemodynamic stability with use of per minute of vasopressors before procurement, intensive care unit s

Atrial fibrillation （AF） is the most common arrhythmia diagnosed in clinical practice. The consequences of AF have been clearly estab- lished in multiple large observational cohort studies and include increased stroke and systemic embolism rates if no oral anticoagulation is prescribed, with increased morbidity and mortality. With the worldwide aging of the population characterized by a large influx of ＂baby boomers＂ with or without risk factors for developing AF, an epidemic is forecasted within the next 10 to 20 years. Although not all studies support this evidence, it is clear that AF is on the rise and a significant amount of health resources are invested in detecting and managing AF This review focuses on the worldwide burden of AF and reviews global health strategies focused on improving detection, prevention and risk stratification of AF, recently recommended by the World Heart Federation.

Single ventricle is an uncommon congenital cardiac pathology with high mortality at early ages. However, due to new strategies and timely surgical treatment, it is increasingly seen in adults, which has increased the survival rate. This condition is characterized by a heart with a single functional ventricular cavity. The aim of this article is to report the case of a 40-year-old male with single ventricle, who underwent several surgeries in his childhood. After these surgical procedures, the patient lost medical follow-up and presented complications derived from the disease itself. Heart Failure is a common complication in people with single ventricle, and pharmacological heart failure therapies have been ineffective in mitigating the need of the heart transplantation. That’s why it is essential to develop and apply new pharmacological techniques for the management of these patients in childhood as well as in adulthood. This would allow not only to avoid various comorbidities, but also to improve the quality of life of the patients.

In the Jefimenko’s generalized theory of gravitation, it is proposed the existence of certain potentials to help us to calculate the gravitational and cogravitational fields, such potentials are also presumed non-invariant under certain gauge transformations. In return, we propose that there is a way to perform the calculation of certain potentials that can be derived without using some kind of gauge transformation, and to achieve this we apply the Helmholtz’s theorem. This procedure leads to the conclusion that both gravitational and cogravitational fields propagate simultaneously in a delayed and in an instant manner. On the other hand, it is also concluded that these potentials thus obtained can be real physical quantities, unlike potentials obtained by Jefimenko, which are only used as a mathematical tool for calculating gravitational and cogravitational fields.

Droplet-based bioprinting has shown remarkable potential in tissue engineering and regenerative ***,it requires bioinks with low viscosities,which makes it challenging to create complex 3D structures and spatially pattern them with different *** study introduces a novel approach to bioprinting sophisti-cated volumetric objects by merging droplet-based bioprinting and cryobioprinting *** leveraging the beneﬁts of cryopreservation,we fabricated,for theﬁrst time,intricate,self-supporting cell-free or cell-laden structures with single or multiple materials in a simple droplet-based bioprinting process that is facilitated by depositing the droplets onto a cryoplate followed by crosslinking during *** feasibility of this approach is demonstrated by bioprinting several cell types,with cell viability increasing to 80%–90%after up to 2 or 3 weeks of ***,the applicational capabilities of this approach are showcased by bio-printing an endothelialized breast cancer *** results indicate that merging droplet and cryogenic bioprinting complements current droplet-based bioprinting techniques and opens new avenues for the fabrication of volumetric objects with enhanced complexity and functionality,presenting exciting potential for biomedical applications.

BACKGROUND Acute fibroid complications are ***,failure to recognize and treat acute complications expeditiously when they occur can lead to catastrophic,even deadly,*** is a rare but potentially fatal condition resulting from infarction and infection of a fibroid through bacterial seeding and direct,hematogenous,or lymphatic *** though the diagnosis is established through clinical and laboratory findings,imaging is an important complementary method to support the suspected *** SUMMARY Herein,we report a case of a pyomyoma in a nulliparous woman previously diagnosed with uterine leiomyomatosis according to ultrasound *** patient had previously attended the emergency room due to hypogastric pain unresponsive to *** a week of persistent pain,she developed sepsis without any identifiable *** resonance imaging revealed findings compatible with uterine myomatosis with red degeneration,and a possible diagnosis of a pyomyoma was made according to the imaging findings along with the patient’s clinical *** decided to perform myomectomy(which is an infrequently performed surgical treatment due to the procedure’s intrinsic implic-ations)due to the patient’s desire to preserve *** results revealed a uterine leiomyoma with coagulative and liquefactive necrosis,while the tissue culture showed gram-negative cocci bacteria,which were successfully treated using antibiotic *** patient’s health status improved after several *** The main diagnostic tools to evaluate pyomyomas are the clinical and laboratory findings as well as tissue ***,magnetic resonance imaging can help to corroborate these findings as well as to better characterize myomas with its different complications.

Background Little information exists about the role of anemia in patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS)admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Units(ICCU).The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of anemia and its impact on management and outcomes in this clinical *** All consecutive patients admitted to eight different ICCUs with diagnosis of non-ST segment elevation ACS(NSTEACS)were prospectively *** was defined as hemoglobinpatients were *** age was 66.6 years.A total of 197 patients(31.3%)had *** angiography was performed in most patients(96.2%).patients with anemia were significantly older,with a higher prevalence of comorbidities,poorer left ventricle ejection fraction and higher GRACE score *** with anemia underwent less often coronary angiography,but underwent more often intraaortic counterpulsation,non-invasive mechanical ventilation and renal replacement *** ICCU and hospital stay were significantly longer in patients with *** the incidence of mortality(HR=3.36,95%CI:1.43–7.85,p=0.001)and the incidence of mortality/readmission were significantly higher in patients with anemia(HR=2.80,95%CI:2.03–3.86,p=0.001).After adjusting for confounders,the association between anemia and mortality/readmission remained significant(p=0.031).Conclusions Almost one of three NSTEACS patients admitted to ICCU had *** patients underwent coronary *** was independently associated to poorer outcomes at 6 months.
