High mechanical strength Si anode synthesis with interlayer bonded expanded graphite structure for lithium-ion batteries

Despite advancements in silicon-based anodes for high-capacity lithium-ion batteries,their widespread commercial adoption is still hindered by significant volume expansion during cycling,especially at high active mass loadings crucial for practical *** root of these challenges lies in the mechanical instability of the material,which subsequently leads to the structural failure of the ***,we present a novel synthesis of a composite combining expanded graphite and silicon *** composite features a unique interlayer-bonded graphite structure,achieved through the application of a modified spark plasma sintering ***,this innovative structure not only facilitates efficient ion and electron transport but also provides exceptional mechanical strength(Vickers hardness:up to658 MPa,Young's modulus:11.6 GPa).This strength effectively accommodates silicon expansion,resulting in an impressive areal capacity of 2.9 mA h cm^(-2)(736 mA h g^(-1)) and a steady cycle life(93% after 100cycles).Such outsta nding performance is paired with features appropriate for large-scale industrial production of silicon batteries,such as active mass loading of at least 3.9 mg cm^(-2),a high-tap density electrode material of 1.68 g cm^(-3)(secondary clusters:1.12 g cm^(-3)),and a production yield of up to 1 kg per day.

There is controversy in the literature on where to place the tourniquet(thigh,calf,ankle)for foot and ankle *** some authors prefer the ankle tourniquet to the calf tourniquet,others state that the surgeon can decide between using the thigh tourniquet or the ankle tourniquet,since there was no difference in postoperative pain between *** to place the tourniquet during foot and ankle surgery to cause the least possible postoperative pain to the patient as a result of the tourniquet is a common question in clinical *** reality is that,unfortunately,there is no consensus on this *** the only possible way to answer this question would be to conduct a comparative study with sufficient statistical power to reach scientifically sound *** does not seem easy to carry out such a study,but it would be important to be able to answer the question posed in the title of this Editorial once and for all.

Efficient and accurate health state estimation is crucial for lithium-ion battery(LIB)performance monitoring and economic *** estimating the health state of LIBs online is the key but is also the most difficult task for energy storage *** high adaptability and applicability advantages,battery health state estimation based on data-driven techniques has attracted extensive attention from researchers around the *** neural network(ANN)-based methods are often used for state estimations of *** one of the ANN methods,the Elman neural network(ENN)model has been improved to estimate the battery state more efficiently and *** this paper,an improved ENN estimation method based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and cuckoo search(CS)is established as the EIS-CS-ENN model to estimate the health state of ***,the paper conducts a critical review of various ANN models against the EIS-CS-ENN *** demonstrates that the EIS-CS-ENN model outperforms other *** review also proves that,under the same conditions,selecting appropriate health indicators(HIs)according to the mathematical modeling ability and state requirements are the keys in estimating the health state *** the calculation process,several evaluation indicators are adopted to analyze and compare the modeling accuracy with other existing *** the analysis of the evaluation results and the selection of HIs,conclusions and suggestions are put ***,the robustness of the EIS-CS-ENN model for the health state estimation of LIBs is verified.

Health Vigilance and Risk Factors for Cervical Cancer: A Study in the State of Maranhão, Brazil

The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the importance of health vigilance in the prevention of cervical cancer. The sample consisted of 536 women. To identify which risk factors were associated with cervical cancer or with an increase in the mortality rate of this kind of cancer, a logistic regression model was used. The Odds Ratios (OR) and their respective 95% confidence intervals were also calculated. Most of them were at the age of highest incidence of cervical cancer (21 - 59 years old), had an unstable conjugal situation, minimal educational level (78.7%), low income (58.3%), consumed alcoholic beverages (56.4%), had a history of smoking (57.0%) and possessed limited knowledge about the prevention. These results are discussed in terms of a predictive model for cervical cancer that considers the importance of public health vigilance in the screening and precocious diagnosis.

Clean steel encompasses a multitude of concepts that are based on fulfilling customer requirements and can be produced in many ways depending on the existing equipment and detailed customer demands.A common feature of all clean steel production is tight process control along with continuous *** meet an increasing demand for cold-rolled(CR)steel sheets of improved mechanical properties,and to cope with the change of the annealing process from a batch-type to a continuous process,it is necessary to establish a technique for making ultralow carbon(ULC)steel with a C-concentration lower than 20 ppm for the steelmaking process associated with a major challenge to guarantee the competitiveness with observance of environmental *** ladle lining plays an important role on the energy consumption during the production and the refractory lining design contributes to minimize thermal bath loss,carbon pick up and shell temperature.A new generation of unfired zero carbon refractories was developed with two specific approaches:(1)replacement of firing bricks reducing CO_(2) footprint and(2)replacement of carbon containing with performance *** can be used in working and safety linings with a unique microstructure with better heat scattering and similar thermomechanical *** work presents customers’performance compared to traditional products highlighting energy savings.
