a.yotrophic la.era. sclerosis is the most common a.ult-onset neurodegenera.ive disea.e a.f.cting motor neurons. Its def.ning f.a.ure is progressive loss of.motor neuron f.nction in the cortex, bra.nstem, a.d spina. cord, lea.ing to pa.a.ysis a.d dea.h. Despite ma.or a.va.ces in identif.ing genes tha. ca. ca.se disea.e when muta.ed a.d model the disea.e in a.ima.s a.d cellula. models, it still rema.ns unclea. why motor symptoms suddenly a.pea. a.ter a.long pre-symptoma.ic pha.e of.a.pa.ently norma. f.nction. One hypothesis is tha. a.e-rela.ed deregula.ion of.specif.c proteins within key cell types, especia.ly motor neurons themselves, initia.es disea.e symptom a.pea.a.ce a.d ma. a.so drive progressive degenera.ion. Genome-wide in vivo cell-type-specif.c screening tools a.e ena.ling identif.ca.ion of.ca.dida.es f.r such proteins. In this minireview, we f.rst brief.y discuss the methodology used in a.recent study tha. a.plied a.motor neuron-specif.c RNa.eq screening a.proa.h to a.sta.da.d model of.Ta. DNa.binding protein-43(TDP-43)-driven a.yotrophic la.era. sclerosis. a.key f.nding of.this study is tha. syna.togyrin-4 a.d pleckstrin homology doma.n-conta.ning f.0}ily B member 1 a.e a.so deregula.ed a. the protein level within motor neurons of.two unrela.ed mouse models of.muta.t TDP-43 driven a.yotrophic la.era. sclerosis. Guided by wha. is known a.out molecula. a.d cellula. f.nctions of.these proteins a.d their orthologs, we outline here specif.c hypotheses f.r how cha.ges in their levels might potentia.ly a.ter cellula. physiology of.motor neurons a.d detrimenta.ly a.f.ct motor neuron f.nction. Where possible, we a.so discuss how this inf.rma.ion could potentia.ly be used in a.tra.sla.iona. context to develop new thera.eutic stra.egies f.r this currently incura.le, deva.ta.ing disea.e.

We present a.comprehensive theoretica. study of.conventiona. superconductivity in cubic a.tiperovskites ma.eria.s with composition XYZ_(3) where X a.d Z a.e meta.s,a.d Y is H,B,C,N,O,a.d *** sta.ting point a.e electron–phonon ca.cula.ions f.r 397 ma.eria.s perf.rmed with density-f.nctiona. perturba.ion *** 43%of.the ma.eria.s a.e dyna.ica.ly unsta.le,we discovered 16 compounds close to thermodyna.ic sta.ility a.d with T_(c) higher tha. 5 *** these results to tra.n interpreta.le ma.hine-lea.ning models,lea.s us to predict a.f.rther 57(thermodyna.ica.ly unsta.le)ma.eria.s with superconducting tra.sition tempera.ures a.ove 5 K,rea.hing a.ma.imum of.17.8 K f.r ***,the models give us a. understa.ding of.the mecha.ism of.superconductivity in *** combina.ion of.tra.itiona. a.proa.hes with interpreta.le ma.hine lea.ning turns out to be a.very ef.icient methodology to study a.d systema.ize whole cla.ses of.ma.eria.s a.d is ea.ily extenda.le to other f.0}ilies of.compounds or physica. properties.

Chronic wounds a.f.ct a.ound 2% of.the world popula.ion with a. a.nua. multi-billion dolla. cost to the hea.thca.e system. This ba.kground pushes the development of.new thera.ies a.d procedures f.r wound hea.ing a.d its a.sessment. a.ong them, the potentia. of.hydrogen(pH) a.sessment is a. importa.t indica.or of.the wound hea.ing sta.e a.d condition. This pa.er presents the development of.the f.rst optica. f.ber-embedded sma.t wound dressing f.r pH a.sessment. a. intrinsica.ly pH-sensitive optica. f.ber is f.0}rica.ed using a.polydimethylsiloxa.e(PDMS) precursor doped with rhoda.ine B dye. Ra.a. a.d f.urier tra.sf.rm inf.a.ed(f.IR) spectroscopies a.e perf.rmed in order to verif. the presence of.rhoda.ine B a.d PDMS in the f.ber sa.ples. Then, the f.ber is embedded in ga.ze f.0}ric a.d hydrocolloid wound dressing. In a.dition, such low Young’s modulus of.PDMS f.ber ena.les its use a. a.highly sensitive pressure sensor, where the results show tha. the f.ber-embedded ba.da.e ca. mea.ure pressures a. low a. 0.1 kPa.with a.high linea.ity in the ra.ge of.0 to 0.3 kPa. The sma.t ba.da.e is subjected to dif.erent pH, which resulted in a.wa.elength shif. of.0.67 nm/pH when the a.sorption pea. a. 515 nm wa. a.a.yzed. f.rthermore, pH increa.e lea.s to linea. decrea.e of.the tra.smitted optica. power(R2 of.0.998), with rise a.d f.0}l times below 20 s a.d 30 s, respectively. Theref.re, the proposed optica. f.ber-embedded sma.t ba.da.e ena.les the simulta.eous a.sessment of.pressure a.d pH on the wound region.
