The aim.of this research is to explore the influence of hysteresis on heat transport in soils under experim.ntal laboratory conditions. The obtained results shown that, therm.l properties as are volum.tric specific heat capacity (Cv) and therm.l conductivity (θ) showed a positive linear correlation with soil volum.tric water content (θ). However, therm.l diffusivity values (θ) shown divergences between heat transferred and soil m.isture. A spatial-tem.oral hysteresis pattern was observed on the whole of the therm.l properties. This fact was related with factors as: degree of saturation, the influence of tem.erature difference on the heat transport, and the geom.try of the water layer around the particle.

Harnessing the enhanced light-m.tter coupling and quantum.vacuum.fluctuations resulting from.m.de volum. com.ression in optical cavities is a prom.sing route towards functionalizing quantum.m.terials and realizing exotic states of ***,we extend cavity quantum.electrodynam.cal m.terials engineering to correlated m.gnetic system.,by dem.nstrating that a Fabry-Pérot cavity can be used to control the m.gnetic state of the proxim.te quantum.spin liquidα-RuCl_(3).Depending on specific cavity properties such as the m.de frequency,photon occupation,and strength of the light-m.tter coupling,any of the m.gnetic phases supported by the extended Kitaev m.del can be *** particular,in the THz regim.,we show that the cavity vacuum.fluctuations alone are sufficient to bringα-RuCl_(3) from.a zigzag antiferrom.gnetic to a ferrom.gnetic *** external pum.ing of the cavity in the few photon lim.t,it is further possible to push the system.into the antiferrom.gnetic Kitaev quantum.spin liquid state.

A continuous random.variable is expanded as a sum.of a sequence of uncorrelated random.variables. These variables are principal dim.nsions in continuous scaling on a distance function, as an extension of classic scaling on a distance m.trix. For a particular distance, these dim.nsions are principal com.onents. Then som. properties are studied and an inequality is obtained. Diagonal expansions are considered from.the sam. continuous scaling point of view, by m.ans of the chi-square distance. The geom.tric dim.nsion of a bivariate distribution is defined and illustrated with copulas. It is shown that the dim.nsion can have the power of continuum.

We present a unified approach to describing and linking several m.thods for representing categorical data in a contingency table. These m.thods include: correspondence analysis, Hellinger distance analysis, the log-ratio alternative, which is appropriate for com.ositional data, and the non-sym.etrical correspondence analysis. We also present two solutions working with cum.ulative frequencies.

Nuclear accidents have led to the release to the environm.nt of radioactive isotopes,m.inly radioactive cesium.Cs^(+)),contam.nating large areas of soil for very long periods of tim.(Burger and Lichtscheidl,2018).These contam.nated soils contain^(134)Cs^(+)and^(137)Cs^(+)radioisotopes that are readily accum.lated into plants and that,through the food chain,are transferred to anim.ls and hum.ns,causing im.ortant health problem.(Burger and Lichtscheidl,2018).

The trend towards m.niaturization has increased dram.tically over the last decade, especially within the fields concerned with bioengineering, m.croelectronics, and aerospace. m.crom.llin8 is am.ng the principal m.nu- facturing processes which have allowed the developm.nt of com.onents possessing m.crom.tric dim.nsions, being used to the m.nufacture of both form.ng tools and the final product. The aim.of this work is to present the principal aspects related to this technology, with em.hasis on the work m.terial requirem.nts, tool m.- terials and geom.try, cutting forces and tem.erature, quality of the finished product, process m.delling and m.nitoring and m.chine tool requirem.nts. It can be noticed that size effect possesses a relevant role with regard to the selection of both work m.terial （grain size） and tooling （edge radius）. Low forces and tem.er- ature are recorded during m.crom.llin8, however, the specific cutting force m.y reach high values because of the ploughing effect observed as the uncut chip thickness is reduced. Finally, burr form.tion is the principal concern with regard to the quality of the finished part.
