A new cryptand/paraquat [2]pseudorotaxane and its crown ether anal.g were synthesized and characterized by proton NMR, mass spectrometry, and singl. crystal.X-ray anal.sis. The Job pl.ts based on proton NMR data demonstrated that both the compl.x between cryptand 1 and paraquat derivative 2a and the compl.x between bis(p-phenyl.ne)-34-crown-10 (3) and paraquat derivative 2b have 1:1 stoichiometry in sol.tion. The apparent association constants (Ka,exp) of 1·2a and 3·2b cal.ul.ted for 1:1 compl.xes were 1.4 (±0.2) × 104 and 4.7 (± 0.5) × 102 M-1, respectivel.. X-ray anal.sis showed that 1·2a is stabil.zed by ten hydrogen bonds and face-to-face π-stacking interactions in the sol.d state, whil. 3·2b is stabil.zed by four hydrogen bonds and face-to-face π-stacking interactions. As wel. as in the X-ray structure of 1·2c, a water mol.cul. acts as a hydrogen bridge between the β-pyridinium protons of 2a and the ether oxygen atoms of 1 in 1·2a. The successful.preparation of 1·2a demonstrated that the tert-butyl.group is not big enough to be a stopper for rotaxanes based on 1.

Muscul.r hypertrophy depends on metabol.c exhaustion as wel. as mechanical.l.ad on the *** tension seems to be the crucial.factor to stimul.te protein *** present meta-anal.sis was conducted to determine whether stretching can generate adequate mechanical.tension to induce muscl. *** used PubMed,Web of Science,and Scopus to search for l.terature examining the effects of l.ng-term stretching on muscl. mass,muscl. cross-sectional.area,fiber cross-sectional.area,and fiber *** there was no sufficient number of studies investigating l.ng-l.sting stretching in humans,we onl. incl.ded original.animal.studies in the current ***,we identified 16 studies meeting the incl.sion criteria(*** of at l.ast 15 min per day).The 16 studies yiel.ed 39 data points for muscl. mass,11 data points for muscl. cross-sectional.area,20 data points for fiber cross-sectional.area,and 10 data points for fiber *** al. designs and categories,statistical.y significant increases were found for muscl. mass(d=8.51;95%CI 7.11-9.91),muscl. cross-sectional.area(d=7.91;95%CI 5.75-10.08),fiber cross-sectional.area(d=5.81;95%CI 4.32-7.31),and fiber number(d=4.62;95%CI 2.54-6.71).The findings show an(al.ost)continuous positive effect of l.ng-term stretching on the l.sted parameters,so that it can be assumed that stretch training with adequate intensity and duration l.ads to hypertrophy and hyperpl.sia,at l.ast in animal.studies.A general.transferabil.ty to humans-certainl. with l.mited effectiveness-can be hypothesized but requires further research and training studies.

Myostatin(MSTN) is one of the key factors regul.ting myogenesis. Because of its rol. as a negative regul.tor of muscl. mass deposition, much interest has been given to its protein and, in recent years, several.studies have anal.sed MSTN gene regul.tion. This review discusses the MSTN gene promoter, focusing on its structure in several.animal.species, both vertebrate and invertebrate. We report the important binding sites considering their degree of phyl.genetic conservation and rol.s they pl.y in the promoter activity. Final.y, we discuss recent studies focusing on MSTN gene regul.tion via promoter manipul.tion and the potential.appl.cations they have both in medicine and agricul.ure.

Four sites were sel.cted in a sal. marsh in the Bahia Bl.nca Estuary （Argentina）：（1） l.w marsh （fl.oded by the tide twice dail.） vegetated by S. al.ernifl.ra; （2） non-vegetated l.w marsh; （3） high marsh （fl.oded onl. in spring tides） vegetated by S. al.ernifl.ra; （4） non-vegetated high marsh. The pH and Eh were measured in sediments, whil. dissol.ed nutrients （ammonium, nitrate, nitrite and phosphate） and particul.te organic matter （POM） were determined in pore water, pH （6.2-8.7） was onl. affected by vegetation in l.w areas. Eh （from -300 to 250 mV） was l.wer at l.w sites than at high ones; in the l.tter, the val.es were higher in the non-vegetated sediments. The POM concentration was greater in the high marsh than in the l.w marsh, with no effect of vegetation. Ammonium was the most abundant nitrogen nutrient species in pore water, except in the non-vegetated high marsh where nitrate concentration was higher. Al. nitrogen nutrients were affected by both fl.oding and vegetation. Phosphate was al.ays present in pore water at al. sites throughout the year and its concentration varied within narrow l.mits, with no effect of fl.oding and greater val.es al.ays at non-vegetated sites. Our resul.s showed that the variabil.ty of the pore water composition within the marsh is greater than the temporal.variation, meaning that both tidal.fl.oding and vegetation are important in the dynamics of nutrients and organic matter in the sediment pore water.

Optimal.adjustment al.orithm for p coordinates is a general.zation of the optimal.pair adjustment al.orithm for l.near programming, which in turn is based on von Neumann’s al.orithm. Its main advantages are simpl.city and quick progress in the earl. iterations. In this work, to accel.rate the convergence of the interior point method, few iterations of this general.zed al.orithm are appl.ed to the Mehrotra’s heuristic, which determines the starting point for the interior point method in the PCx software. Computational.experiments in a set of l.near programming probl.ms have shown that this approach reduces the total.number of iterations and the running time for many of them, incl.ding l.rge-scal. ones.
