Carbon nanofibers embedded with Fe-Co alloy nanoparticles via electrospinning as lightweight high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbers

As a lot of electromagnetic pollution and interference issues have emerged,to overcome electromagnetic interference,prevent electromagnetic hazards,and develop new high-performance electromagnetic wave(EMW) absorbers have become a significant task in the field of materials science.In this paper,a three-dimensional(3D) carbon nanofibers network with core-shell structure,embedded with varied molar ratios of iron and cobalt(4:0,3:1,2:2,1:3,0:4),was effectively synthesized(Fe/Co@C-CNFs) via electrospinning.The phase,microstructure,magnetic and EMW absorption properties were studied.It is discovered that Fe/Co@C-CNFs doped with iron:cobalt=1:1 have excellent EMW absorption capacity.When the matching thickness is 1.08 mm,the minimum reflection loss(RL) value is-18.66 dB,while the maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB) reaches 4.2 GHz(13.9-18 GHz) at a thickness of 1.22 mm.This is owing to the absorbers' superior impedance matching and multiple reflections as well as the conductivity,dielectric,and magnetic losses of carbon nanofibers embedded with Fe-Co alloy particles.In addition,the radar cross section(RCS) of the absorbers has been calculated by CST Studio Suite,showing that the absorbing coating can effectively reduce the RCS at various angles,especially for Fe/Co@C-CNFs doped with iron:cobalt=1:1.These findings not only provide new insights for the preparation of light-weight and high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbers,but also contribute to energy storage and conversion.

Micro segment analysis of supercritical methane thermal-hydraulic performance and pseudo-boiling in a PCHE straight channel

The printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE) is receiving wide attention as a new kind of compact heat exchanger and is considered as a promising vaporizer in the LNG process. In this paper, a PCHE straight channel in the length of 500 mm is established, with a semicircular cross section in a diameter of 1.2 mm.Numerical simulation is employed to investigate the flow and heat transfer performance of supercritical methane in the channel. The pseudo-boiling theory is adopted and the liquid-like, two-phase-like, and vapor-like regimes are divided for supercritical methane to analyze the heat transfer and flow features.The results are presented in micro segment to show the local convective heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. It shows that the convective heat transfer coefficient in segments along the channel has a significant peak feature near the pseudo-critical point and a heat transfer deterioration when the average fluid temperature in the segment is higher than the pseudo-critical point. The reason is explained with the generation of vapor-like film near the channel wall that the peak feature related to a nucleateboiling-like state and heat transfer deterioration related to a film-boiling-like state. The effects of parameters, including mass flow rate, pressure, and wall heat flux on flow and heat transfer were analyzed.In calculating of the averaged heat transfer coefficient of the whole channel, the traditional method shows significant deviation and the micro segment weighted average method is adopted. The pressure drop can mainly be affected by the mass flux and pressure and little affected by the wall heat flux. The peak of the convective heat transfer coefficient can only form at high mass flux, low wall heat flux, and near critical pressure, in which condition the nucleate-boiling-like state is easier to appear. Targeted delivery of anti-tumor drugs and overcoming drug resistance in malig-nant tumor cells remain significant clinical challenges.However,there are only few effective methods to address these issues.Extracellular vesicles(EVs),actively secreted by cells,play a crucial role in intercellular information transmis-sion and cargo transportation.Recent studies have demonstrated that engineered EVs can serve as drug delivery carriers and showed promising application prospects.Nevertheless,there is an urgent need for further improvements in the isolation and purification of EVs,surface modification techniques,drug assem-bly processes,and precise recognition of tumor cells for targeted drug delivery purposes.In this review,we summarize the applications of engineered EVs in cancer treatment and overcoming drug resistance,and current challenges asso-ciated with engineered EVs are also discussed.This review aims to provide new insights and potential directions for utilizing engineered EVs as targeted delivery systems for anti-tumor drugs and overcoming drug resistance in the near future.

BACKGROUND Early diagnosis and therapeutic interventions can greatly enhance the developmental trajectory of children with autism spectrum disorder(ASD).However,the etiology of ASD is not completely understood.The presence of confounding factors from environment and genetics has increased the difficulty of the identification of diagnostic biomarkers for ASD.AIM To estimate and interpret the causal relationship between ASD and metabolite profile,taking into consideration both genetic and environmental influences.METHODS A two-sample Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis was conducted using summarized data from large-scale genome-wide association studies(GWAS)including a metabolite GWAS dataset covering 453 metabolites from 7824 European and an ASD GWAS dataset comprising 18381 ASD cases and 27969 healthy controls.Metabolites in plasma were set as exposures with ASD as the main outcome.The causal relationships were estimated using the inverse variant weight(IVW)algorithm.We also performed leave-one-out sensitivity tests to validate the robustness of the results.Based on the drafted metabolites,enrichment analysis was conducted to interpret the association via constructing a protein-protein interaction network with multi-scale evidence from databases including Infinome,SwissTargetPrediction,STRING,and Metascape.RESULTS Des-Arg(9)-bradykinin was identified as a causal metabolite that increases the risk of ASD(β=0.262,SE=0.064,P_(IVW)=4.64×10^(-5)).The association was robust,with no significant heterogeneity among instrument variables(P_(MR Egger)=0.663,P_(IVW)=0.906)and no evidence of pleiotropy(P=0.949).Neuroinflammation and the response to stimulus were suggested as potential biological processes mediating the association between Des-Arg(9)bradykinin and ASD.CONCLUSION Through the application of MR,this study provides practical insights into the potential causal association between plasma metabolites and ASD.These findings offer perspectives for the discovery of diagnostic or predictive biomarkers to support clinical

BACKGROUND Preoperative knowledge of mutational status of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)is essential to guide the individualized precision therapy.AIM To develop a combined model that integrates clinical and contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CE-CT)features to predict gastric GISTs with specific genetic mutations,namely KIT exon 11 mutations or KIT exon 11 codons 557-558 deletions.METHODS A total of 231 GIST patients with definitive genetic phenotypes were divided into a training dataset and a validation dataset in a 7:3 ratio.The models were constructed using selected clinical features,conventional CT features,and radiomics features extracted from abdominal CE-CT images.Three models were developed:ModelCT sign,modelCT sign+rad,and model CTsign+rad+clinic.The diagnostic performance of these models was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis and the Delong test.RESULTS The ROC analyses revealed that in the training cohort,the area under the curve(AUC)values for model_(CT sign),model_(CT sign+rad),and modelCT_(sign+rad+clinic)for predicting KIT exon 11 mutation were 0.743,0.818,and 0.915,respectively.In the validation cohort,the AUC values for the same models were 0.670,0.781,and 0.811,respectively.For predicting KIT exon 11 codons 557-558 deletions,the AUC values in the training cohort were 0.667,0.842,and 0.720 for model_(CT sign),model_(CT sign+rad),and modelCT_(sign+rad+clinic),respectively.In the validation cohort,the AUC values for the same models were 0.610,0.782,and 0.795,respectively.Based on the decision curve analysis,it was determined that the model_(CT sign+rad+clinic)had clinical significance and utility.CONCLUSION Our findings demonstrate that the combined modelCT_(sign+rad+clinic)effectively distinguishes GISTs with KIT exon 11 mutation and KIT exon 11 codons 557-558 deletions.This combined model has the potential to be valuable in assessing the genotype of GISTs.

Background As one of the most common musculoskeletal ailments,chronic nonspecific low-back pain(CNLBP)causes persistent disability and substantial medical expenses.Epidemiological evidence shows that the incidence rate of CNLBP in young and middle-aged people who are demanded rapidly recovery and social contribution is rising.Recent guidelines indicate a reduced role for medicines in the management of CNLBP.Objective The present study investigates the short-term effects of cupping and scraping therapy using a medicated balm,compared to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID)with a capsaicin plaster,in the treatment of CNLBP.Design,setting,participants and interventions We designed a prospective multicenter randomized clinical trial enrolling patients from January 1,2022 to December 31,2022.A total of 156 patients with CNLBP were randomized into two parallel groups.Diclofenac sodium-sustained release tablets were administered orally to participants in the control group for one week while a capsaicin plaster was applied externally.Patients in the test group were treated with cupping and scraping using a medical device and medicated balm.Main outcome measures Primary outcome was pain recorded using the visual analogue scale(VAS).Two secondary outcomes were recorded using the Japanese Orthopedic Association low-back pain scale(JOA)and the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome integral scale(TCMS)as assessment tools.Results Between baseline and postintervention,all changes in outcome metric scales were statistically significant(P<0.001).Compared to the control group,patients in the test group had a significantly greater treatment effect in all outcome variables,as indicated by lower VAS and TCMS scores and higher JOA scores,after the one-week intervention period(P<0.001).Further,according to the findings of multivariate linear regression analysis,the participants’pain(VAS score)was related to their marital status,age,smoking habits and body mass index.No adverse reactions were reported for any participants in t

The coronavirus disease-19(COVID-19)pandemic has put healthcare workers in an unprecedented situation,increasing their psychological and mental health distress.Much research has focused on the issues surrounding anxiety,depression,and stress among healthcare workers.The consequences of mental health problems on healthcare workers’physical health,health-compromising behaviours,suicide ideation,family relationships,and job satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic are not well studied.Enhanced psychological stress has known effects on an individual’s physical health.In healthcare workers with preexisting comorbidities,psychological stressors may exacerbate their current health problems.Healthcare professionals are known to have a high risk of substance use,hence they may be at risk of development of substance use addiction or vulnerable to addiction relapse.Frontline COVID-19 healthcare workers are being pushed above and beyond their limits,possibly resulting in suicidal tendencies.Furthermore,the burden of high workload and burnout may also have serious manifestations in relationships with family and an intention to quit their jobs.Future studies should explore the above-mentioned deleterious consequences to provide insight into the development of mental healthcare strategies to combat the psychological impact of COVID-19 on healthcare workers during the COVID-19 emergency.It is imperative to employ strategies to care for and policies to protect the psychological well-being of healthcare workers.

Background:ziwan and Taoren(ZT)is a classic medicine pair in the formula of Mai Dong Di Shao Decoction,has been used to treat primary Sjogren’s syndrome(pSS)for more than 20 years.But its action mechanism is still unknown.This study is aimed to reveal the potential mechanism of ZT treated pSS and discover its active compounds of ZT and therapeutic target for pSS.Methods:Firstly,the potential pathways of ZT for pSS treatment were predicted through network pharmacology and GO and KEGG enrichment analysis.Secondly,the inter-structural relationships between active compounds of ZT and target proteins were visualized using molecular docking techniques.Finally,efficacy and mechanism were conducted through in vivo experiments,such as water intake,spleen index,hematoxylin-eosin staining pathological changes,ELISA,Western Blot analysis,and immunofluorescence staining.Results:Nine active compounds were extracted from network pharmacology,including quercitrin,luteolin,kaempferol,β-sitosterol,isorhamnetin,galangin,hederagenin,diosmetin and gibberellin 7.Seven disease targets were identified:RELA,TP53,AKT1,interleukin(IL)6,MAPK1,ESR1,IL10;with RELA being the most core target.KEGG and GO enrichment analysis indicated that ZT may act through the TLR/NF-κB/RELA inflammatory mechanism process.preliminary results of molecular docking showed that ZT’s active compounds bind well to the RELA(p65)receptor.In vivo results demonstrated that a high dose of ZT significantly improved water intake and reduced lymphocytes infiltration in submandibular gland pathology in NOD mice.The expression content of AQP5 and vasoactive intestinal peptide in the submaxillary gland was significantly increased,while levels of inflammatory factors such as tumor necrosis factor-α,IL-6,and IL-1βalong with protein expressions including toll-like receptor4,p-p65 and p-IKKα/βin NF-κB pathway were reduced.Conclusions:The ZT treatment exhibits a promising efficacy in mitigating dryness symptoms of pSS,potentially attributed to its capacity for suppressing the TLR/N

Uncontrolled growth of lithium dendrite will lead to low Coulombic efficiency and poor cycle stability,which hinders the commercialization of lithium metal batteries.Herein,a novel modified lithium anode with reduced graphene oxide conductive network containing trace lithiophilic phosphorus(P-rGO/Cu)is prepared by electrospraying technique combined with heat treatment process.The rGO layer has a concave and undulating conductive structure,which can significantly improve the effective electrical contact between lithium metal and the current collector,speed up the kinetics of interfacial electron transport and reaction,and improve the resistance of the negative electrode to the internal stress caused by volume change of the lithium,which is advantageous for the stability of the SEI film.The extremely small and uniformly distributed red phosphorus element avoids the volume change caused by lithiation to the maximum extent.Lithiophilic two-phase compound Li_(3)P obtained by alloying P with Li can directionally induce the homogeneous nucleation and dense deposition of lithium metal,address the issue of lithium dendrites and extend the cycle life of the batteries.The obtained P-rGO/Cu exhibits excellent electrochemical performance with an average Coulombic efficiency(CE)of 98%at a current density of 1 mA·cm^(−2) for 400 cycles,and the capacity retention rate of the full cell matched with lithium iron phosphate(LFP)is 83%after 400 cycles at 1C.

BACKGROUND Echinococcosis is prevalent in 9 provinces in Western and Northern China.An epidemiological survey of echinococcosis in 2012 and 2016 showed cases of echinococcosis in Yunnan Province.AIM To understand the spatial distribution and epidemiological characteristics of echinococcosis in Yunnan for the prevention and control of echinococcosis and to reduce the risk of infection in Yunnan Province.METHODS Based on the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention(CISDCP),echinococcosis cases reported from 36 hospitals and 34 Centers for Disease Control were investigated and epidemiologically analyzed from 2021 to 2022.The exclusion criteria included suspected cases,same case only counted once and cases not from Yunnan.A total of 705 cases were investigated,of which 397 cases were suitable for statistical analysis.In these 397 cases,epidemiological investigation was tracked in 187 cases.All data were inputted using double entry in the Excel database,with error correction by double-entry comparison.The data on echinococcosis cases in Yunnan Province were analyzed by ArcGIS 10.1 software to generate a density map of echinococcosis distribution.All statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 17.0,including the chi-square test,linear regression test and logistic univariate and multivariate regression analyses.RESULTS A total of 397 cases were found in 89 counties in Yunnan Province.The number of cases in the top three prefectures were Dali(38.1%),Diqing(10.1%),and Kunming(8.3%),and the top five counties were Jianchuan(9.1%),Shangri La(8.3%),Eryuan(7.6%),Heqing(6.9%),and Dali Districts(5.0%).There were significant differences between the different areas.The case reporting rate by CISDCP(33.8%)was low;the first case was reported by CISDCP in 2002,and the highest number of cases was 50(2017).Confirmed and clinical cases accounted for 62.5%and 37.5%,respectively.However,90.9%of the cases of hydatid disease were reported by the hospital system,and only 9.1%of the cases of hydatid disease were found in
