This paper presents the results of a combined study of building energy consumption and the electricity production from PV modules integrated into a shading device, taking account of different site layouts. Various combinations of surrounding building configurations and the tilt angles of the shading device (that determines the PV module orientation) are examined.

Accessory breast tissue development frequently occurs in addition to physiologic breast development and is a common congenital condition with an occurrence of 0.4% to 6% in women and 1% - 3% in men. A 31-year-old g1P0 female presented to our triage at 20 + 4 weeks gestation with a one-week history of painful bilateral axillary lumps. Her last menstrual period was consistent with an estimated gestational age of 39 + 3 weeks by LMP. She had emigrated from Bengal three years earlier with no other gynecological complaints and knew of no abnormalities on physical exam. The painful axillary lumps were found to be accessory breast tissue. This entity is presented as a palpable thickening that is most prevalent along the milk line in the region immediately below the breasts, along the abdomen, in the axilla and in the groin region adjacent to the vulva. Affected individuals may undergo premenstrual changes such as tenderness, swelling, and difficulty with shoulder range of motion and irritation. The onset of pregnancy stimulates the tissue and makes it more evident as it did with our patient.

OBJECTIVE: To verify the action of non-pharmacological interventions, whole body vibration exercise (WBVE) and auriculotherapy (AT) on the management of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) analyzing the handgrip strength (HS). METHODS: One hundred twelve participants with KOA were allocated in (a) WBVE group with peak-to-peak displacement of 2.5 to 7.5 mm, frequency from 5 up to 14 Hz, acceleration peak from 0.12 up to 2.95 g (2 d/weekly for 5 weeks),(b) AT group, points of both ears (Kidney, Knee-correspondent point and Shenmen) were stimulated with seeds,(c) WBVE + AT group and (d) respective control groups. HS was assessed in all the participants, in acute and cumulative responses. RESULTS: The intervention with WBVE alone and combined with AT improved (P ght promote biological effects that interfere with the HS in individuals with KOA.

BACKgROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) represents the sixteenth most frequent cancer in Argentina. The rise of new therapeutic modalities in intermediate-advanced HCC opens up a new paradigm for the treatment of HCC.AIM To describe real-life treatments performed in patients with intermediateadvanced HCC before the approval of new systemic options.METHODS This longitudinal observational cohort study was conducted between 2009 and2016 in 14 different regional hospitals from Argentina. Included subjects had intermediate-advanced Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) HCC stages(BCLC B to D). Primary end point analyzed was survival, which was assessed for each BCLC stage from the date of treatment until last patient follow-up or death.Kaplan Meier survival curves and Cox regression analysis were performed, with hazard ratios(HR) calculations and 95% confidence intervals(95%CI).RESULTS From 327 HCC patients, 41% were BCLC stage B, 20% stage C and 39% stage D.Corresponding median survival were 15 mo(IQR 5-26 mo), 5 mo(IQR 2-13 mo)and 3 mo(IQR 1-13 mo)(P g BCLC-B patients(n =135), 57% received TACE with a median number of 2 sessions(IQR 1-3 sessions).Survival was significantly better in BCLC-B patients treated with TACE HR =0.29(CI: 0.21-0.40) than those without TACE. After tumor reassessment by RECIST 1.1 criteria following the first TACE, patients with complete response achieved longer survival (HR = 0.15(CI: 0.04-0.56, P = 0.005))Eighty-two patients were treated with sorafenib, mostly BCLC-B and C(87.8%). However,12.2% were BCLC-D. Median survival with sorafenib was 4.5 mo(IQR 2.3-11.7 mo);which was lower among BCLC-D patients 3.2 mo(IQR 2.0-14.1 mo). A total of 36 BCLC-B patients presented tumor progression after TACE. In these patients,treatment with sorafenib presented better survival when compared to those patients who received sorafenib without prior TACE [HR = 0.26(CI: 0.09-0.71);P= 0.013].CONCLUSION In this real setting, our results were lower than expected. Tilia species have been used in Asia, Europe and in America to treat anxiety and also for the treatment of colds and inflammation. The oxygen reactive species (ROS) (hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and the superoxide anion (O2) are involve in the balance cell proliferation/death in lymphocytes. It was reported the presence of flavonoids in Tilia species which possess antioxidant properties. The aim of this study was to determine comparatively the effect of an aqueous (AE) and ethanol (E) extract from Tilia x viridis, on the proliferation of tumoral and normal concanavalin A stimulated murine lymphocytes in relation to antioxidant activities such as peroxidase (Px), catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities involves in H2O2 modulation. Also a phytochemical pattern of the two extracts in relation to flavonoids content was determined. Both extracts presented antiproliferative action on both type of lymphocytes but E was more selective on the tumoral lymphocytes inhibition (EC50 (μg/ml, Mean ±SEM) (tumoral): 50 ± 4;EC50;(normal lymphocytes): 323 ± 20);this action was related to a high polyphenols content (150 ± 10 mg/g extract) and high “per se” SOD and low Px activities. In conclusion, the extracts could be a source of antioxidant compounds which contribute to a selective antiproliferative action on tumoral cells, acting through the modulation of H2O2 levels.

Chickpea is an important pulse crop with a wide range of potential nutritional benefits because of its chemical composition. The purpose of the current work was to provide the chemical composition of “kabuli”-type chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) developed in Argentina for nutritional purpose. Protein, oil and ash contents, fatty acid, tocopherol and mineral element compositions were studied. Among the studied genotypes, protein content ranged from 18.46 to 24.46 g/100g, oil content ranged from 5.68 to 9.01 g/100g and ash from 3.55 to 4.46 g/100g. Linoleic, oleic and palmitic acids were the most abundant fatty acids. The average oleic-to-linoleic ratio was 0.62 and average iodine value was 117.82. Tocopherols, well-established natural antioxidants, were found in chickpea seeds in relatively similar amounts across all genotypes. Mineral element analysis showed that chickpea was rich in macronutrients such as K, P, Mg and Ca. The nutritional composition of chickpea genotypes developed and grown in Argentina provides useful information for breeding programs, food marketing and consumers and establishes chickpea as component of a balanced human diet.

Background: Spondylodiscitis and spinal epidural abscesses are rare pathologic entities, but increasing in incidence. group g beta hemolytic Streptococcus has been recently described associated with human infections. They often present clinically in a non-specific fashion, a fact which can lead to diagnostic delay, with serious consequences for the patient. Case Report: An 80-year-old man was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever for three days, dysuria, hematuria, and back pain. Both septic embolizations and spondylodiscitis due to group g beta hemolytic Streptococcus were detected. The patient was successfully treated with intravenous penicillin g for eight weeks, followed by oral amoxicillin for five months. Discussion: In all patients with spondylodiscitis, infective endocarditis should be considered, particularly in patients with heart valve disease history, since spondylodiscitis may be the presenting sign of an infective endocarditis. A high level of suspicion is therefore necessary in order correctly diagnose such entities as quickly as possible. The present case illustrates the pathogenic potential of group g streptococci in spondylodiscitis and native valve endocarditis.

Textile-based technologies are considered as potential routes for the production of 3D porous architectures for tissue engineering( TE) applications. We describe the use of two polymers,namely polybutylene succinate( PBS) and silk fibroin(SF) to produce fiber-based finely tuned porous architectures by weft and warp knittings. The obtained knitted constructs are described in terms of their morphology, mechanical properties,swelling ability,degradation behaviour,and cytotoxicity. Each type of polymer fibers allows for the processing of a very reproducible intra-architectural scaffold geometry,with distinct characteristics in terms of the surface physicochemistry,mechanical performance,and degradation capability,which has an impact on the resulting cell behaviour at the surface of the respective biotextiles. Preliminary cytotoxicity screening shows that both materials can support cell adhesion and proliferation. Furthermore, different surface modifications were performed( acid /alkaline treatment, UV radiation,and plasma) for modulating cell behavior. An increase of cell-material interactions were observed,indicating the important role of materials surface in the first hours of culturing. Human adipose-derived stem cells( hASCs) became an emerging possibility for regenerative medicine and tissue replacement therapies. The potential of the recently developed silk-based biotextile structures to promote hASCs adhesion,proliferation,and differentiation is also evaluated. The obtained results validate the developed constructs as viable matrices for TE applications. given the processing efficacy and versatility of the knitting technology, and the interesting structural and surface properties of the proposed polymer fibers,it is foreseen that our developed systems can be attractive for the functional engineering of tissues such as bone,skin,ligaments or cartilage and also for develop more complex systems for further industrialization of TE products.
