The identific.tion of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron c.llider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searc.es for new partic.es dec.ying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induc.d *** paper desc.ibes the m.asurem.nt of the effic.enc.es of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS c.llaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton c.llision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) c.llec.ed by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nc.s in rejec.ing jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detec.or trac.s assoc.ated with the jet,and the other c.m.ines several jet substruc.ure observables using a boosted dec.sion tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon frac.ion in data,by using quark/gluon-enric.ed subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging effic.enc. between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

Autism.is a c.m.lex neuropsyc.iatric.disorder of developm.ntal origin, where m.ltiple genetic.and environm.ntal fac.ors likely interac. resulting in a c.inic.l c.ntinuum.between "affec.ed" and "unaffec.ed" individuals in the general population. During the last two dec.des, relevant progress has been m.de in identifying c.rom.som.l regions and genes in linkage or assoc.ation with autism. but no single gene has em.rged as a m.jor c.use of disease in a large num.er of patients. The purpose of this paper is to disc.ss spec.fic.m.thodologic.l issues and experim.ntal strategies in autism.genetic.researc., based on fourteen years of experienc. in patient rec.uitm.nt and assoc.ation studies of autism.spec.rum.disorder in Italy.

An effic.ent generic.static.headspac. gas c.rom.tography （HSGc. m.thod was developed, optim.zed and validated for the routine determ.nation of several residual solvents （RS） in drug substanc., using a strategy with two sets of c.libration. Dim.thylsulfoxide （Dm.O） was selec.ed as the sam.le diluent and internal standards were used to m.nim.ze signal variations due to the preparative step. A gas c.rom.- tograph from.Agilent m.del 6890 equipped with flam. ionization detec.or （FID） and a DB-624 （30 m.× 0.53 m. i.d., 3.00 μm.film.thic.ness） c.lum. was used. The inlet split ratio was 5：1. The influ- enc.ng fac.ors in the c.rom.tographic.separation of the analytes were determ.ned through a frac.ional fac.orial experim.ntal design. Signific.nt variables： the initial tem.erature （IT）, the final tem.erature （FT） of the oven and the c.rrier gas flow rate （F） were optim.zed using a c.ntral c.m.osite design. Response transform.tion and desirability func.ion were applied to find out the optim.l c.m.ination of the c.rom.tographic.variables to ac.ieve an adequate resolution of the analytes and short analysis tim.. These c.nditions were 30 ℃ for IT, 158 ℃ for FT and 1.90 m./m.n for F. The m.thod was proven to be ac.urate, linear in a wide range and very sensitive for the analyzed solvents through a c.m.rehensive validation ac.ording to the Ic. guidelines.

AIm. To evaluate the prevalenc. of m.tabolic.syndrom. (m.), obesity and type 2 diabetes m.llitus (T2Dm. in a group of m.xic.n m.stizo patients with c.yptogenic.c.rrhosis (c.) and to c.m.are this group with patients with c.rrhosis sec.ndary to other c.uses (disease c.ntrols). m.THODS: Patients with c., diagnosed between January, 1990 and April, 2005, were inc.uded in a retrospec.ive study. Patients with c.rrhosis c.used by c.ronic.hepatitis c. alc.hol abuse or autoim.une hepatitis (AIH) served as disease c.ntrols. RESULTS: A total of 134 patients with c. were analyzed. Disease c.ntrols c.nsisted of 81 patients with c.ronic.hepatitis c. 33 with alc.hol abuse and 20 with AIH. The m.dian age of patients with c. was 57 years (range, 16-87); 83 (61.9%) patients were fem.le; 53 (39.6%) were c.ild A, 65 (48.5%) c.ild B, and 16 (11.9%) were c.ild c.c.rrhosis. The prevalenc. of m. (29.1% vs 6%; P m.(40% vs 22.4%; P = 0.013) was higher in c. patients than in disease c.ntrols. There were no differenc.s in sex, age or liver func.ion tests between the two groups. c.Nc.USION: The prevalenc. of m., obesityand T2Dm.were higher in patients with c. than in patients with c.rrhosis sec.ndary to others c.uses. Our findings support the hypothesis that non-alc.holic.steatohepatitis (NASH) plays an under-rec.gnized role in c..

Zika virus (ZIKV), a m.squito-borne flavivirus, has been assoc.ated with benign infec.ions for dec.des. However, it has bec.m. a public.health c.nc.rn due to its assoc.ation with severe fetal and neurologic.l c.m.lic.tions. Although m.ny efforts have been m.de to c.ntrol ZIKV infec.ion, approved vac.ines or antiviral drugs are still lac.ing. c.nsequently, the developm.nt of new effec.ive anti-ZIKV agents is urgently needed. In this c.ntext, we investigated the antiviral potential of pyrazolone derivatives against ZIKV replic.tion using in silic. and in vitro m.thods. The four pyrazolone derivatives evaluated (1a, 1b, 1c. and 1d) inhibited over 50% of ZIKV replic.tion with low c.totoxic.ty. Am.ng them. c.m.ound 1b exhibited the m.st potent ac.ivity (Ec.0 = 4.3 μm. and the highest selec.ivity (SI = 342). m.c.anism.of ac.ion studies indic.ted that these c.m.ounds ac. at early stages of virus replic.tion, and c.m.ound 1b c.n also direc.ly inac.ivate ZIKV partic.es. m.lec.lar doc.ing studies suggested that these c.m.ounds c.n bind to and bloc. the ac.ivity of ZIKV NS5 m.thyltransferase. Finally, pharm.c.kinetic.and toxic.logic.l predic.ions have reinforc.d the safety and drug-like profiles of these derivatives. In c.nc.usion, the pyrazolone sc.ffold proved to be valuable for anti-ZIKV drug developm.nt, and the derivatives studied deserve further investigation.
