microchannels enable the fast and efficient mixing of multiphase *** this study, a millimeter-scale three-dimensional(3D) circular cyclone-type microreactor was designed for the *** flow characteristics and mixing intensity were simulated by computational fluid dynamics simulations at a flow rate range of 12–96 m L/min using a water/ethyl acetate *** the 3D variable-diameter structure,the microreactor induced paired opposite vortices and abruptly changed the local pressure to achieve a stable turbulent effect within the theoretical range of laminar *** injection simulations indicated that sufficient mixing units successfully promote fluid ***-coupling experiments showed a segregation index of X_S= 0.00,039 within a residence time of 9 *** experiments on the nbutanol/succinic acid/water system showed that the 3D circular cyclone-type microreactor achieved 100%extraction efficiency(E) in 4.25 s, and the overall volume mass transfer coefficient(K_La) reached 0.05–1.5s^(-1) in 12–96 m L/*** isolated yield of the phase transfer alkylation and oxidation reactions in the 3D circular cyclone-type microreactor achieved 99% within 36 s, which was superior to the coil microreactor and batch reactor.

The application of solar steam generation in seawater desalination is an effective way to solve the shortage of fresh water *** present,many kinds of photothermal conversion materials have been developed and used as evaporators in seawater ***,some evaporators need additional thermal insulation or water supply devices to achieve efficient photothermal *** addition,their complex,time consuming and no scalable preparation process,high cost of raw materials and poor salt resistance hinder the practical application of these *** to its distinctive nanoporous structure,diatomite as fossilized single-cells algae diatoms is a promising natural silica-based material for seawater *** are taken from sea and that makes true sense to use them in the ***,we report the first example of synthesis robust three-dimensional(3D)natural-diatomite composite by assembling polyaniline nanoparticles covered diatomite into the polyvinyl alcohol pre-treated melamine foam frameworks and demonstrate its application as new evaporator for seawater *** porous framework does not only improve the sunlight scattering efficiency,but also offer large network of channels for water *** inherent mechanism behind salt desalination process involves the absorption of water molecules on the surface of the internal silica micro-nano pores,and evaporation under the heat induced by the polyaniline absorbed ***,the metal ions are segregated by many available pores and channels to achieve the self-desalting *** developed evaporator possesses the superiority of multi-stage pore structure,strong hydrophilicity,low thermal conductivity,excellent light absorption,fast water transportation and salt-resistant crystallization as well as good *** evaporation rate without an additional device is found to be 1.689 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)under 1-Sun irradiation,and the energy conversion efficiency is as

Due to their high reliability and cost-efficiency,submarine pipelines are widely used in offshore oil and gas resource *** to the interaction of waves,currents,seabed,and pipeline structures,the soil around submarine pipelines is prone to local scour,severely affecting their operational *** the Yellow River Delta as the research area and based on the renormalized group(RNG)k-εturbulence model and Stokes fifth-order wave theory,this study solves the Navier-Stokes(N-S)equation using the finite difference *** volume of fluid(VOF)method is used to describe the fluid-free surface,and a threedimensional numerical model of currents and waves-submarine pipeline-silty sandy seabed is *** rationality of the numerical model is verified using a self-built waveflow *** this basis,in this study,the local scour development and characteristics of submarine pipelines in the Yellow River Delta silty sandy seabed in the prototype environment are explored and the influence of the presence of pipelines on hydrodynamic features such as surrounding flow field,shear stress,and turbulence intensity is *** results indicate that(1)local scour around submarine pipelines can be divided into three stages:rapid scour,slow scour,and stable *** maximum scour depth occurs directly below the pipeline,and the shape of the scour pits is asymmetric.(2)As the water depth decreases and the pipeline suspension height increases,the scour becomes more intense.(3)When currents go through a pipeline,a clear stagnation point is formed in front of the pipeline,and the flow velocity is positively correlated with the depth of *** study can provide a valuable reference for the protection of submarine pipelines in this area.

The emergence of influenza virus A pandemic H1N1 in April 2009 marked the first pandemic of the 21st *** this study,we observed significant differences in the polymerase activities of two clinical 2009 H1N1 influenza A virus isolates from Chinese and Japanese *** comparison of the three main protein subunits(PB2,PB1,and PA)of the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase complex and subsequent mutational analysis revealed that a single amino acid substitution(E206K)was responsible for the observed impaired replication *** in vitro experiments showed that presence of PAE206K decreased the replication of influenza A/WSN/33 virus in mammalian cells and a reduction in the virus’s pathogenicity in *** studies revealed that PAE206K is a temperature-sensitive mutant associated with the inability to transport PB1–PA complex to the nucleus at high temperature(39.5℃).Hence,this naturally occurring variant in the PA protein represents an ideal candidate mutation for the development of live attenuated influenza vaccines.

Wavelet transforms (WT) are proposed as an alternative tool to overcome the limitations of Fourier transforms (FFT) in the analysis of electrochemical noise (EN) data. The most relevant feature of this method of analysis is its capability of decomposing electrochemical noise records into different sets of wavelet coefficients, which contain information about the time scale characteristic of the associated corrosion event. In this context, the potential noise fluctuations during the free corrosion of pure aluminum in sodium chloride solution was recorded and analyzed with wavelet transform technique. The typical results showed that the EN signal is composed of distinct type of events, which can be classified according to their scales, i.e. their time constants. meanwhile, the energy distribution plot (EDP) can be used as 'fingerprints' of EN signals and can be very useful for analyzing EN data in the future.
