Evaluating the impact of safety pictogram training on comprehension scores and knowledge retention among engineering students

Safety pictograms are essential tools for identifying workplace hazards by providing critical information about health hazard risks, fire safety, emergency evacuation, and accident prevention. Effective safety pictogram training programs are necessary to enhance workers' knowledge of these pictograms. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a safety pictogram training program on the comprehension and retention of knowledge among engineering students. A total of 262 participants were asked to predict the meaning of 22 safety pictograms regulated by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 7010 before and after a one-hour online training session. A follow-up test was administered six months later to assess long-term knowledge retention. Results showed that the average comprehension rate increased from 60.1 % before training to 68.3 % after training, with a retention rate of 66.0 % six months after training. The study found that training positively affected comprehension of emergency and mandatory action pictograms, while lower scores were observed for warning pictograms. Statistical tests revealed a significant effect of training on comprehension levels 16 out of 22 pictograms, with an average increase in comprehension of 11.2 %. Of these 16 pictograms, the comprehension level of 10 pictograms increased after training and remained at the same level six months later. However, the scores decreased slightly six months after the intervention, indicating the need for continued reinforcement or retraining. These findings have important implications for safety education and training programs, particularly in industries where safety hazards are widespread. The positive impact of training on comprehension scores highlights the ongoing need to improve safety pictogram comprehension to consistently meet standard acceptance criteria. In this study,four different Mg-Zn-Ca-Mn alloys were produced using gravity die casting *** content was kept constant in all alloys,while Zn and Ca were added in two different *** heat treatment was applied to all cast alloys and a specimen from each homogenized alloy was hot ***,mechanical properties,and corrosion behavior of the homogenized and hot rolled alloys were investigated as *** results were obtained;grain size decreased significantly with increasing Zn content,Zn promoted Ca 2 Mg 6 Zn 3 phase formation,corrosion resistance increased with increasing Zn/Ca atomic ratio,hot rolling resulted in much higher tensile strength but much lower ductility and *** the homogenized and hot rolled alloys,ZXM300-h alloy(hot rolled ZXM300 alloy)with its 146±2.5 MPa yield strength,229±3.7 MPa tensile strength,%1.6±0.1 elongation and 0.029 mm/*** corrosion rate exhibited the best mechanical properties and corrosion resistance to be used as a biodegradable alloy such as fracture bone plate material.

Recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment （WEEE） is crucially important since it handles hazardous waste according to ever tightening laws and regulations and it adds benefits to economy and sustainable environment. Disassembly is one of the most important processes performed during the recovery of WEEE. The overall goal of disassembly is to maximize the retrieval of various metals and plastics contained in WEEE in order to reduce their negative effects on human health and environmental sustainability and to increase economic gains. This study aims to evaluate alternative layout configurations for WEEE disassembly systems （WDS）. In this context, various configurations were compared in terms of pre-defined performance criteria, such as the total number of disassembled WEEE and the total revenue from sales, using simulation models. The results of this study show that the perfomaance of a WDS was significantly affected by output transfer systems along with the specialization of operators on certain types of WEEE.

As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. Myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma(MIFS) is a rare low-grade, malignant soft tissue tumor that is usually observed in the extremities of adult patients. Magnetic resonance imaging findings for this tumor type have rarely been reported. We report a case involving the distal left femur of a middle-aged man and tumoral invasion of the bone, which, to our knowledge, has been previously described only once. He was treated with distal femoral tumor resection and reconstruction with a modular prosthesis. Histopathologic diagnosis confirmed MIFS. We reviewed literature of the diagnostic imaging and bone invasion findings associated with this tumor type.

This study aims to shed light on the effects of financial development and accumula-tion of capital on the productivity of labor in the sub-Sahara African region within the period of 1990–*** this work,we used the(dynamic)common correlated effects estimator-mean group and additional techniques such as cross-section autoregressive distributed lag to calibrate the sample into the African subregion to ensure *** findings reveal that financial progress in the region over time leads to an increase in productivity of labor and also the accumulation of ***,financial markets have a progressive impact on the productivity of labor within sub-Saharan African *** extend the very limited literature on the nexus between financial development and labor productivity by incorporating capital accumulation into our model which has not been previously studied.

Ezrin： a regulator of actin microfilaments in ce unctions of the rat testis

Ezrin, radixin, moesin and merlin （ERM） proteins are highly homologous actin-binding proteins that share extensive sequence similarity with each other. These proteins tether integral membrane proteins and their cytoplasmic peripheral proteins （e.g., adaptors, nonreceptor protein kinases and phosphatases） to the microfilaments of actin-based cytoskeleton. Thus, these proteins are crucial to confer integrity of the apical membrane domain and its associated junctional complex, namely the tight junction and the adherens junction. Since ectoplasmic specialization （ES） is an F-actin-rich testis-specific anchoring junction-a highly dynamic ultrastructure in the seminiferous epithelium due to continuous transport of germ cells, in particular spermatids, across the epithelium during the epithelial cycle-it is conceivable that ERM proteins are playing an active role in these events. Although these proteins were first reported almost 25 years and have since been extensively studied in multiple epithelia/endothelia, few reports are found in the literature to examine their role in the actin filament bundles at the ES. Studies have shown that ezrin is also a constituent protein of the actin-based tunneling nanotubes （TNT） also known as intercellular bridges, which are transient cytoplasmic tubular ultrastructures that transport signals, molecules and even organelles between adjacent and distant cells in an epithelium to coordinate cell events that occur across an epithelium. Herein, we critically evaluate recent data on ERM in light of recent findings in the field in particular ezrin regarding its role in actin dynamics at the ES in the testis, illustrating additional studies are warranted to examine its physiological significance in spermatogenesis.

The success story of Geely is evaluated by comparing its particular case with late entrants in Korea,Thailand and *** findings of the case study then were applied to developmental states theory,in order to consolidate the existing theory with the new perspectives that Geely’s case *** findings point out to the necessity of new angles when assessing Chinese development journey with developmental states ***,Geely’s case demonstrate that,in China,provincial governments assume roles that are usually attributed to central governments in East Asian countries under developmental states model.
