Mitochondrial targeting sequence of magnetoreceptor MagR:More than just targeting

Iron-sulfur clusters(ISC)are essential cofactors for proteins involved in various biological processes,such as electron transport,biosynthetic reactions,DNA repair,and gene expression *** assembly protein IscA1(or MagR)is found within the mitochondria of most ***(MagR)is a highly conserved A-type iron and iron-sulfur cluster-binding protein,characterized by two distinct types of iron-sulfur clusters,[2Fe-2S]and[3Fe-4S],each conferring unique magnetic *** forms a rod-like polymer structure in complex with photoreceptive cryptochrome(Cry)and serves as a putative magnetoreceptor for retrieving geomagnetic information in animal *** the N-terminal sequences of MagR vary among species,their specific function remains *** the present study,we found that the N-terminal sequences of pigeon MagR,previously thought to serve as a mitochondrial targeting signal(MTS),were not cleaved following mitochondrial entry but instead modulated the efficiency with which iron-sulfur clusters and irons are ***,the N-terminal region of MagR was required for the formation of a stable MagR/Cry ***,the N-terminal sequences in pigeon MagR fulfil more important functional roles than just mitochondrial *** results further extend our understanding of the function of MagR and provide new insights into the origin of magnetoreception from an evolutionary perspective.

Shor's algorithm does not factor large integers in the presence of noise

We consider Shor's quantum factoring algorithm in the setting of noisy quantum gates. Under a generic model of random noise for(controlled) rotation gates, we prove that the algorithm does not factor integers of the form pq when the noise exceeds a vanishingly small level in terms of n—the number of bits of the integer to be factored, where p and q are from a well-defined set of primes of positive density. We further prove that with probability 1-o(1) over random prime pairs(p, q), Shor's factoring algorithm does not factor numbers of the form pq, with the same level of random noise present.

抗菌药物致儿童血小板减少症的真实世界研究

目的基于10年真实世界数据探索不同品类抗菌药物所致儿童药源性血小板减少症(drug-induced thrombocytopenia,DIT)的发生率及血小板计数下降特征。方法采用回顾性队列研究方法,选取2013年1月—2022年12月厦门大学附属妇女儿童医院(厦门市妇幼保健院)使用抗菌药物的住院患儿(98301例次),基于中国医院药物警戒系统(Chinese Hospital Pharmacovigilance System,CHPS)筛选其中发生DIT的例次。以不同抗菌药物品类为暴露分组,比较不同分组DIT发生率、血小板计数开始下降时间、血小板计数下降至最低点时间以及严重程度的差异。结果所有品类抗菌药物中,DIT发生率前3位为喹诺酮类(19.61‰)、碳青霉烯类(16.59‰)及糖肽类(14.34‰)。碳青霉烯类引起血小板计数开始下降的时间最短[0.59(0.18,1.27)d],而硝基咪唑类时间最长[2.71(0.80,4.06)d]。血小板计数下降至最低点不同分组时间类似,但糖肽类和硝基咪唑类严重不良反应占比较高(>28%)。结论儿童DIT为喹诺酮类、碳青霉烯类以及糖肽类抗菌药物的常见不良反应。不同品类抗菌药物血小板计数下降时间特征不同,将其转化为CHPS触发规则嵌入日常诊疗,对DIT的预防具有重要意义。

Acoustic emission assessment of interface cracking in thermal barrier coatings

In this paper,acoustic emission（AE） and digital image correlation methods were applied to monitor interface cracking in thermal barrier coatings under *** interface failure process can be identifie via its AE features,including buckling,delamination incubation and *** to the Fourier transformation of AE signals,there arefourdifferentfailuremodes：surfaceverticalcracks,opening and sliding interface cracks,and substrate *** characteristic frequency of AE signals from surface vertical cracks is 0.21 MHz,whilst that of the two types of interface cracks are 0.43 and 0.29 MHz,*** energy released of the two types of interface cracks are 0.43 and 0.29 MHz,*** on the energy released from cracking and the AE signals,a relationship is established between the interface crack length and AE parameters,which is in good agreement with experimental results.

Thermal barrier coatings（TBCs） usually exhibit an uncertain lifetime owing to their scattering mechanical properties and severe service conditions. To consider these uncertainties, a reliability assessment method is proposed based on failure probability analysis. First, a limit state equation is established to demarcate the boundary between failure and safe regions, and then the failure probability is calculated by the integration of a probability density function in the failure area according to the first- or second-order *** is shown that the parameters related to interfacial failure follow a Weibull distribution in two types of TBC. The interfacial failure of TBCs is significantly affected by the thermal mismatch of material properties and the temperature drop in service.

Polarized imaging dynamic light scattering for simultaneous measurement of nanoparticle size and morphology

The performance of nanoparticles is often affected by particle size and ***,electron microscopy or atomic force microscopy is typically utilized to determine the size and morphology of ***,there are issues such as difficult sample preparation,long processing times,and challenges in quantitative ***,it is of great significance to develop a fast,accu-rate,and statistical method to measure the size and morphology of *** this study,a new method,called polarized imaging dynamic light scattering(PIDLS),is *** nanoparticles are irradiated with a vertical linearly polarized laser beam,and a polarization camera collected the dynamic light scattering images of particles at four different polarization directions(0°,45°,90°,and 135°)at a scattering angle of 90°.The average particle size and distribution are obtained using the imaging dy-namic light scattering method at 0°polarization direction,and the morphology of the particles is ob-tained based on the depolarization patterns of the scattered *** optical sphericityΦis defined based on the degree of linear polarization(DoLP).It is also implemented for the quantitative evaluation of the sphericity of the nanoparticles,including spherical,octahedral,nanoplate,nanorod,and linear *** with the Poincarésphere parameterψ,the morphology of the nanoparticles can be roughly *** addition,PIDLS enables the measurement of particle size and morphology distributions simultaneously for evaluating the uniformity of *** effectiveness of PIDLS is verified by the measurement of five kinds of industrial titanium dioxide as well.

为探究实验室培育的冰薰1号薰衣草的亲代和子代的遗传多样性,选用32株冰薰1号植株为亲本,及其中6株亲本的F1代群体为试验材料,在进行PCR反应体系优化的基础上,采用ISSR分子标记技术对冰薰1号的亲本群体及自由授粉的F1代群体进行遗传多样性分析。筛选的最佳PCR反应体系为:总体积20μL,rTaq 1.0μmol/min,引物浓度为0.7μmol/L,dNTP浓度为0.3 mmol/L,DNA模板浓度为40 ng/μL,最适反应循环数为35。ISSR分析结果表明,冰薰1号薰衣草个体间遗传距离较近,遗传多样性水平较低,遗传稳定。

Birds exhibit extraordinary mobility and remarkable navigational skills,obtaining guidance cues from the Earth’s magnetic field for orientation and long-distance *** species also show tremendous diversity in navigation strategies,with considerable differences even within the same taxa and among individuals from the same *** highly conserved iron and iron-sulfur cluster binding magnetoreceptor(MagR)protein is suggested to enable animals,including birds,to detect the geomagnetic field and navigate ***,MagR is also implicated in other functions,such as electron transfer and biogenesis of iron-sulfur clusters,raising the question of whether variability exists in its biochemical and biophysical features among species,particularly *** the current study,we conducted a comparative analysis of MagR from two different bird species,including the migratory European robin(Erithacus rubecula)and the homing pigeon(Columba livia).Sequence alignment revealed an extremely high degree of similarity between the MagRs of these species,with only three sequence ***,two of these variations underpinned significant differences in metal binding capacity,oligomeric state,and magnetic *** findings offer compelling evidence for the marked differences in MagR between the two avian species,potentially explaining how a highly conserved protein can mediate such diverse functions.

Optimization of resource allocation in FDD massive MIMO systems

The performance of massive MIMO systems relies heavily on the availability of Channel State Information at the Transmitter(CSIT).A large amount of work has been devoted to reducing the CSIT acquisition overhead at the pilot training and/or CsI feedback *** fact,the downlink communication generally includes three stages,i.e.,pilot training,CsI feedback,and data *** three stages are mutually related and jointly determine the overall system ***,there exist few studies on the reduction of csIT acquisition overhead from the global point of *** this paper,we integrate the Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE)channel estimation,Random Vector Quantization(RVQ)based limited feedback and Maximal Ratio Combining(MRC)precoding into a unified framework for investigating the resource allocation *** particular,we first approximate the covariance matrix of the quantization error with a simple expression and derive an analytical expression of the received Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)based on the deterministic equivalence *** the three performance metrics(the spectral efficiency,energy efficiency,and total energy consumption)oriented problems are formulated *** practical system requirements,these three metrics can be collaboratively ***,we propose an optimization solver to derive the optimal partition of channel coherence *** results verify the benefits of the proposed resource allocation schemes under three different scenarios and illustrate the tradeoff of resource allocation between three stages.
