Rice,a major staple,is the most salt-sensitive *** salinity triggers several adaptive responses in rice to cope with osmotic and ionic stress at the physiological,cellular,and molecular levels.A major QTl for salinity tolerance,named Saltol,is present on chromosome 1 of Indian landraces such as Pokkali and Nona *** early proteomic and physiological responses to salinity in roots and shoots of Fl478,an inbred rice line harboring the Saltol QTl,were *** were cultured in hydroponic cultures with 100 mmol l^(-1) Na Cl and evaluated at 6,24,and 48 *** the physiological level,root length significantly increased at 48 h,whereas shoot length was *** Na^(+)/K^(+) ratio was maintained at lower levels in shoots than in roots,suggesting that roots play a protective *** than 2000 proteins were detected in both *** showed a faster and more coordinated proteomic response than shoots,evident after only 6 h of *** responses showed clear correspondence with those of proteins involved in transcription and *** of mitochondrial activity and amino acid metabolism in roots,and activation of stress-responsive proteins such as dehydrins and PlAT in shoots,may play a key role during the response of the plant to salinity *** and physiological responses showed that roots respond in a more highly adaptive manner than shoots to salinity stress,suggesting that this tissue is critical to the tolerance observed in cultivars harboring Saltol.

The pyramid wavefront sensor(PWFS)can provide the sensitivity needed for demanding adaptive optics applications,such as imaging exoplanets using the future extremely large telescopes of over 30 m of diameter(D).However,its exquisite sensitivity has a limited linear range of operation,or dynamic range,although it can be extended through the use of beam modulation—despite sacrificing sensitivity and requiring additional optical *** by artificial intelligence techniques,this work proposes to train an optical layer—comprising a passive diffractive element placed at a conjugated Fourier plane of the pyramid prism—to boost the linear response of the pyramid sensor without the need for cumbersome *** develop an end-2-end simulation to train the diffractive element,which acts as an optical preconditioner to the traditional least-square modal phase estimation *** results with a large range of turbulence conditions show a noticeable improvement in the aberration estimation performance equivalent to over 3λ∕D of modulation when using the optically preconditioned deep PWFS(DPWFS).Experimental results validate the advantages of using the designed optical layer,where the DPWFS can pair the performance of a traditional PWFS with 2λ∕D of *** and adding an optical preconditioner to the PWFS is just the tip of the iceberg,since the proposed deep optics methodology can be used for the design of a completely new generation of wavefront sensors that can better fit the demands of sophisticated adaptive optics applications such as ground-to-space and underwater optical communications and imaging through scattering media.

Purpose:This meta-analytical study aimed to explore the effects of resistance training(RT) volume on body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation in postmenopausal and older ***:A systematic search was performed for randomized controlled trials in PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,and *** controlled trials with postmenopausal and older females that compared RT effects on body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation with a control group(CG) were *** reviewers selected the studies,extracted the data,and performed the risk of bias and certainty of the evidence(Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)) *** body and abdominal adiposity,blood lipids,glucose,and C-reactive protein were included for meta-analysis.A random-effects model,standardized mean difference(Hedges’ g),and 95% confidence interval(95%CI) were used for ***:Twenty randomized controlled trials(overall risk of bias:some concerns;GRADE:low to very low) with overweight/obese postmenopausal and older females were *** groups were divided into low-volume RT(lVRT,~44 sets/week) and high-volume RT(HVRT,~77 sets/week).Both RT groups presented improved body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation when compared to ***,HVRT demonstrated higher effect sizes than lVRT for glucose(HVRT=-1.19;95%CI:-1.63 to-0.74;lVRT=-0.78;95%CI:-1.15 to-0.41) and C-reactive protein(HVRT=-1.00;95%CI:-1.32 to-0.67;lVRT=-0.34;95%CI,-0.63 to-0.04)) when compared to ***:Compared to CG,HVRT protocols elicit greater improvements in metabolic risk and inflammation outcomes than lVRT in overweight/obese postmenopausal and older females.

对演奏者来说,对于作品的演奏诠释是一种挑战。要想使作品被清晰地理解,就必须努力实现作品中音乐语言的正确传递。为正确的诠释和演奏作品,就需要了解其和声结构、弓法和演奏(运弓)技巧。因此,对不同手稿和版本的搜寻,和对作品中每部分对于乐句中弓法的运用的分析,就变得重要。不同手稿对于鞠躬和发音的不同标示,使不同版本之间会产生相反表达。在贝蒂娜·施韦默和道格拉斯·伍德富尔·哈里斯编写的《约翰·塞巴斯蒂安·巴赫六首大提琴组曲BWV 1007-1012》中可以窥知著名大提琴家们对于不同版本弓法的选择,演奏技法的运用,以及他们对于不同版本的看法。根据对不同手稿中不同的演奏意图和要求达成了共识,和谱面上弓法的标示,使得这一版本成为了巴赫第五组曲中前奏曲弓法与演奏技法的权威版本。基于对作品的分析,本文的目的在于,在一系列动机中找到一致性,以建立最合适的演奏技法。虽然这些手稿大都提供的都是巴洛克风格的演奏建议;但同时也考虑到了当代表演者,并根据现代大提琴及其风格提出了建设性的意见。同时,结合对音乐风格的考量,在掌握了演奏技巧后,演奏者会对作品有更深刻的理解。这些理解会引导演奏者以更诗意和深刻的方式,更好的演绎巴赫的作品。

Existing auto-focusing methods in laser processing typically include two independent modules,one for surface detection and another for z-axis *** latter is mostly implemented by mechanical z stage motion,which is up to three orders of magnitude slower than the lateral processing *** alleviate this processing bottleneck,we developed a single-lens approach,using only one high-speed z-scanning optical element,to accomplish both in situ surface detection and focus control quasi-simultaneously in a dual-beam *** probing beam scans the surface along the z-axis continuously,and its reflection is detected by a set of confocal *** on the temporal response of the detected signal,we have developed and experimentally demonstrated a dynamic surface detection method at 140-350 kHz,with a controlled detection range,high repeatability,and minimum linearity error of 1.10%.Sequentially,by synchronizing at a corresponding oscillation phase of the z-scanning lens,the fabrication beam is directed to the probed z position for precise focus ***,our approach provides instantaneous surface tracking by collecting position information and executing focal control both at 140-350 kHz,which significantly accelerates the axial alignment process and offers great potential for enhancing the speed of advanced manufacturing processes in three-dimensional space.

Unraveling the factors that determine variation of diversity in tropical mountain systems is a topic for debate in plant *** is especially true in areas where topography is complex due to volcano elevational gradients and where forests are vulnerable to human *** this study we used a set of climatic(temperature,rainfall,and radiation solar),topographic(elevation,slope aspect,and slope orientation)and human disturbance variables to determine their effect on diversity and composition patterns of a tree community,considering three slope aspects of a tropical volcano in southeastern *** sampled trees in seventy 0.1-ha plots distributed on three slope aspects of the Tacanávolcano along an elevational gradient of 1500 to 2500 *** determined diversity patterns(general tree richness,exponential of Shannon index,and pioneer species richness)with linear regression models,and for beta diversity,we used a dissimilarity index(within and between elevational bands 100 m wide).The effect of a set of environmental and human disturbance variables on tree diversity and community composition was analyzed with general linear models and multivariate analyses,*** registered 2,949 individual trees belonging to 176 species and *** average species richness and alpha diversity per plot were 13(standard deviation±6)and 9(±5),*** tree richness and alpha diversity increased in the middle part(unimodal patterns)of the elevational gradient,but pioneer species richness decreased linearly with *** variance explained by general linear models was greater in richness(32%)than in alpha diversity(25.3%).The most important predictor variables were temperature(elevational gradient),which explained the unimodal pattern(richness and alpha diversity increase at intermediate levels of temperature),and slope orientation,which explained the increase in richness and alpha diversity toward the geographic *** temperature had a signific

Among hybrid energy storage systems(HESSs),battery-ultracapacitor systems in active topology use DC/DC power converters for their *** are part of the solutions designed to improve the operation of power systems in different *** the residential microgrid applications,a multilevel control system is required to manage the available energy and interactions among the microgrid *** this purpose,a rule-based power management system is designed,whose operation is validated in the simulation,and the performances of different controllers are compared to select the best strategy for the DC/DC *** average current control with internal model control and real-time frequency decoupling is proposed as the most suitable controller according to the contemplated performance parameters,allowing voltage regulation values close to 1%.The results are validated using real-time hardware-in-the-loop(HIl).These systems can be easily adjusted for other applications such as electric vehicles.

This paper presents a mixed-integer linear programming(MIlP)formulation for sizing and siting of battery energy storage systems(BESSs).The problem formulation seeks to minimize both operation costs and BESS *** proposed model includes restrictions of the conventional securityconstrained unit commitment problem,a piece-wise linear approximation to model power losses,and a linear model of hydro generation *** proposed model is tested in a 6-bus test system and a 15-bus system representing the Colombian power *** the two studied systems,simulation results show that the reduction of operation costs due to the installation of BESSs compensates the investments,under some of the considered technical cost ***,results show that adequate sizing and siting of BESSs reduce renewable energy curtailment in the Colombian power system with high penetration of fluctuating renewable generation.
