＜正＞ The MAPEc study was designed to investigate whether normalizing the circadian blood pressure （BP） profile towards a more dipper pattern reduces cardiovascular risk. This prospective study investigates 2643 subjects （1328 men）, 51.9±14.1 years of age. At inclusion and yearly thereafter, BP was measured at 20 - min intervals from 07:00 to 23: 00h and at 30 - min intervals at night for 48 hours. The median time of follow up so far was 3.2 years. Based on the baseline BP profile, cardiovascular morbidity was similar for extreme-dippers （1.23 events/100 patient-years） and dippers （1.14）, but significantly higher for non-dippers （2.81） and mainly for risers （8.70）. When morbidity was analyzed on the basis of the BP profile closer to the event, results indicate a diminished morbidity in extreme-dippers （0.38） and dippers （0.89）, and an increased morbidity in non-dippers （3.23） and risers （10.70）. The probability of event-free survival is markedly correlated with the day/night BP ratio. Most important, results suggest that increasing this ratio towards a more dipper pattern by chronotherapy decreases cardiovascular risk, while decreasing the day/night BP ratio is associated with increased morbidity and mortality.

＜正＞ We have prospective evaluated the potential beneficial effects of chronotherapy on renal function in patients with resistant hypertension. We studied 213 patients who were receiving 3 antihypertensive drugs in a single morning dose. Patients were randomly assigned to one of two groups according to the modification in their treatment strategy: 1) changing one of the drugs,but keeping all 3 in the morning. 2) The same approach but administering the new drug at bedtime. BP was measured for 48h at baseline and after 3 months of intervention. The diurnal/nocturnal BP ratio was slightly reduced with all drugs on awakening,but significantly increased in patients receiving one drug at bedtime （P ＜ 0.001）. The percent decrease from baseline in urinary albumin excretion （ UAE） and increase in glomerular filtration rate （GFR） after treatment were significantly correlated with the increase in diurnal/nocturnal BP ratio （P ＜ 0.001）. chronotherapy allows increasing the diurnal/nocturnal BP ratio towards a more dipper profile. This change in the circadian BP pattern is correlated with the improvement of renal function associated to reverting the high-risk non-dipper pattern into a dipper BP profile.

As environmental concerns from fossil fuel consumption intensify, large-scale energy storage becomes imperative for the integration of renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar with the electrical *** flow batteries, particularly those employing organic molecules, are positioned as a key technology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric organic redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this context. Unlike traditional asymmetric designs based on unique active materials for each electrode, symmetric ORFBs involve a single bipolar species for both electrodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric design, and categorizes five distinct classes of organic bipolar molecules used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a comprehensive overview of their cell cycling and performance characteristics, the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse categories of bipolar molecules are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new research directions and advance the development of practical symmetric ORFBs.

Olfactory ensheathing glia promote axonal regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system,including retinal ganglion cell axonal growth through the injured optic ***,it is unknown whether olfactory ensheathing glia also have neuroprotective *** ensheathing glia express brain-derived neurotrophic factor,one of the best neuroprotectants for axotomized retinal ganglion ***,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective capacity of olfactory ensheating glia after optic nerve *** ensheathing glia cells from an established rat immortalized clonal cell line,TEG3,were intravitreally injected in intact and axotomized retinas in syngeneic and allogeneic mode with or without microglial inhibition or immunosuppressive *** and gene expression analyses were *** bulb-derived primary olfactory ensheathing glia and TEG3 express major histocompatibility complex classⅡ*** and syngenically transplanted TEG3 cells survived in the vitreous for up to 21 days,forming an *** axotomized retinas,only the allogeneic TEG3 transplant rescued retinal ganglion cells at 7 days but not at 21 *** these retinas,microglial anatomical activation was higher than after optic nerve crush *** intact retinas,both transplants activated microglial cells and caused retinal ganglion cell death at 21 days,a loss that was higher after allotransplantation,triggered by pyroptosis and partially rescued by microglial inhibition or ***,neuroprotection of axotomized retinal ganglion cells did not improve with these *** different neuroprotective properties,different toxic effects,and different responses to microglial inhibitory treatments of olfactory ensheathing glia in the retina depending on the type of transplant highlight the importance of thorough preclinical studies to explore these variables.

Hepatitis c virus(HcV)infection and unhealthy alcohol use are major drivers of the burden of liver disease worldwide and commonly *** of underlying liver damage is a cornerstone of the clinical care of patients with chronic HcV infection and/or unhealthy alcohol use because many of them are diagnosed at advanced stages of *** diagnosis of liver disease before decompensated liver cirrhosis becomes established is essential for treatment with direct acting antivirals and/or abstinence from alcohol consumption,which are the main therapeutic approaches for clinical *** this review,we discuss current knowledge around the use of non-invasive methods to assess liver disease,such as abdominal ultrasound,controlled attenuation parameter,transient elastography,magnetic resonance imaging,and indices based on serum markers of liver injury.
