In th. pres.nt work, tilted global s.lar irradiance data are pres.nted and analys.d, meas.red for a period of 1 year on th. campus.of Bah.ain Polytech.ic, Kingdom of Bah.ain, from both.a fixed ph.tovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis.s.lar tracker. Th. fixed panel faces.s.uth.with.an angle of 26 degrees.with.res.ect to th. h.rizontal, coinciding with.th. local geograph.cal latitude. Th. s.cond panel is.moved by two motors. controlled by a global pos.tioning s.s.em and s.itable s.ftware s. th.t th. s.n's.rays.are perpendicular to th. panel s.rface. A pyranometer is.ins.alled on each.panel, recording th. tilted global s.lar irradiance, s.ored by us.ng a data logger. Th. analys.s.of th. data obtained s.ows.a 33% s.lar energy gain on an annual bas.s.for th. moving panel (2780 vers.s.2088 kWh.m2 on th. fixed panel). More importantly, in June, wh.n th. energy demand in Bah.ain is.elevated due to th. increas.d res.dential cooling loads. th. s.lar energy received by th. moving panel is.54.7% h.gh.r compared with.th.t of th. fixed panel. On a percentage bas.s. th. increas. in s.lar energy from th. moving panel is.profound in th. early morning and late evening h.urs. Moreover, th. reduction in th. s.lar energy received by th. fixed panel from May to June does.not appear in th. moving panel becaus. of th. adjus.able orientation of th. latter. Th.ough.ut th. year, th. mean daily s.lar power varies.between 0.37 and 0.56 kW/m2 for th. fixed panel, and 0.45 and 0.70 kW/m2 for th. moving panel. In winter, s.lar energy fluctuations.are elevated due to erratic weath.r conditions.th.t pres.nt a peak s.andard deviation of 28% of th. corres.onding mean. Th. data pres.nted are us.ful for potential s.lar inves.ments.in Gulf countries. Th.refore, th.s.s.udy aimed to propos. a wave-activated body model for s.a regions.with.wavelet conditions. Th. wave-activated body des.gn proces. encompas.ed s.te s.lection, parameter determination, geometry des.gn, comparis.n and performance evaluation us.ng th. ANs.s.(R) AQWA model. Th. res.lts.indicated th.t th. propos.d device ach.eved th. des.red h.ave motion, with.an amplitude range of 1.2 to -2.5 m, validating its.potential for deployment in marine regions.with.wavelet conditions. Nowcas.ing and forecas.ing s.lar irradiance are vital for th. optimal prediction of grid-connected s.lar ph.tovoltaic (PV) power plants. Th.s. plants.face operational ch.llenges.and s.h.duling dis.atch.difficulties.due to th. fluctuating nature of th.ir power output. As.th. generation capacity with.n th. electric grid increas.s. accurately predicting th.s.output becomes.increas.ngly es.ential, es.ecially given th. random and non-linear ch.racteris.ics.of s.lar irradiance under variable weath.r conditions. Th.s.s.udy pres.nts.a novel prediction meth.d for s.lar irradiance, wh.ch.is.directly in correlation with.PV power output, targeting both.s.ort-term and medium-term forecas. h.rizons. Our propos.d h.brid framework employs.a fas. trainable s.atis.ical learning tech.ique bas.d on th. truncated-regularized kernel ridge regres.ion model. Th. propos.d meth.d excels.in forecas.ing s.lar irradiance, es.ecially during h.gh.y intermittent weath.r periods. A key s.rength.of our model is.th. incorporation of multiple h.s.orical weath.r parameters.as.inputs.to generate accurate predictions.of future s.lar irradiance values.in its.s.alable framework. We evaluated th. performance of our model us.ng data s.ts.from both.cloudy and s.nny days.in s.attle and Medford, Us. and compared it agains. th.ee forecas.ing models. pers.s.ence, modified 24-h.ur pers.s.ence and leas. s.uares. Bas.d on th.ee widely accepted s.atis.ical performance metrics.(root mean s.uared error, mean abs.lute error and coefficient of determination), our h.brid model demons.rated s.perior predictive accuracy in varying weath.r conditions.and forecas. h.rizons. A novel prediction meth.d for s.lar irradiance, targeting both.s.ort-term and medium-term forecas. h.rizons. is.propos.d to improve PV power production. Taguch. tech.ique is.a s.atis.ical s.rategy th.t facilitates.th. s.s.ematic and efficient evaluation of numerous.experimental variables.
