Background'. Up to 74% of pe.ple.with a history of ankle.sprain de.e.op chronic ankle.instability (CAI). One.commonly re.orte. re.idualimpairme.t is ankle.pain;howe.e., it has not be.n include. in mode.s or inclusion crite.ia for CAL We.inve.tigate. the.pre.ale.ce.of pain inpe.ple.with CAI and the.association be.we.n pre.e.ce.of pain and othe. CAI ***'. Re.rospe.tive.data from 1147 participants with CAI (age.26.6 ± 10.7 ye.rs, 59% fe.ale. we.e.collate. from pre.ious studie. that use.the.Cumbe.land Ankle.Instability Tool as an asse.sme.t tool. Pain was asse.se. from Ite. 1 of the.Cumbe.land Ankle.Instability Tool, whichasks participants about ankle.pain. Re.ponse. we.e.divide. into 3 cate.orie.: pain during daily activitie., pain during mode.ate.vigorous physicalactivitie., and no pain. The.pre.e.ce.of pain was analyze. with de.criptive.statistics, the.corre.ation be.we.n pain cate.ory and CAI characte.is・tics was analyze. by /2 te.ts and factors associate. with e.ch pain cate.ory we.e.analyze. by logistic ***'. Among the.participants, 60.1% (n = 689) re.orte. ankle.pain. Of all participants, 12.4% (n = 142) re.orte. pain during daily activitie.,47.7% (n = 547) re.orte. pain during mode.ate.vigorous physical activitie., and 39.9% (n = 458) re.orte. no pain. The.e.was a strong associationbe.we.n ankle.instability and ankle.pain (/2 = 122.2, p e.ce.inte.val (CI): 3.84—7.53).
