Clinical features of familial adenomas polyps in Chinese and establishment of its immortal lymphocyte cell lines

AIM： To reserve the rare Chinese familial adenomas polyp （FAP） family resource and to investigate the clinical features of FAP in Chinese for its diagnosis. METHODS： Clinical features of patients with FAP were investigated. If there is any question, their medical records were verified. Blood sample was taken and lymphocyte immortal cell lines were established with modified EB-transformation methods. Congenital hypertrophy of retinal pigment epithelium （CHRPE） was checked by an experienced ophthalmologist. RESULTS： Twenty seven families including 21 classical FAP （CFAP） families, 3 attenuated FAP （AFAP） families, and 3 suspected AFAP families were investigated. A total of 116 lymphocyte immortal cell lines were established from 26 families. In all the FAP families, colorectal cancer occurred at the mean age of 42.84 years. Of the 16 families checked, 15 （93.75%） had CHRPE. The mean number of patients suffering from colorectal neoplasm was 3.14 in CFAP families and 2.0 in AFAP families （P 〈 0.01）. The mean oldest age at diagnosis of FAP was 41.75 years in CFAP families, and 58.67 years in AFAP families, respectively （P 〈 0.01）. Mean age of development of colorectal cancer was 42.23 in CFAP and 57.33 years old in AFAP （P 〈 0.01）. Mean of the earliest age at diagnosis of FAP was 29.95 years in the FAP families with a positive family history and 46.80 years in the FAP families with a negative family history （P 〈 0.01）. The ratio of extra-intestinal tumors to colorectal neoplasms was different in the two kinds of families with positive and negative family history （P 〈 0.01）. CONCLUSION： Additional use of ciclosporin will effectively improve to establish lymphocyte immortal cell lines with modified EB- transformation methods. Geometry, Electronic Structure, and Related Properties of Dye Sensitizer： 3,4-bis[1- （carboxymethyl）-3-indolyl]- 1 H-pyrrole-2,5-dione

The geometry, electronic structure, polarizability and hyperpolarizability of dye sensitizer 3,4-bis[1-（carboxymethyl）-3-indolyl]-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione （BIMCOOH） were studied using density functional theory （DFT） with hybrid functional B3LYP, and the electronic absorption spectra were investigated using semi-empirical quantum chemical method ZINDO-1 and time-dependent DFT （TDDFT）. The results of natural bond orbital suggest that the natural charges of the dione, indole, and acetic groups are about 0.15e, -0.29e, and 0.44e, respectively. The calculated isotropic polarizability, polarizability anisotropy invariant and hyperpolarizability are 305.4, 188.3, and 1155.4 a.u., respectively. The electronic absorption spectral features in visible and near-UV region were assigned to the π→π^＊ transition due to the qualitative agreement between the experiment and the TDDFT calculations, and the transitions of the excited states 9-11 related to photoinduced intramolecular charge transfer processes. The analysis of electronic structure and UV-Vis absorption indicates that the indole groups primarily contributed sensitization of photo-to-currency conversion processes, and the interracial electron transfer between semiconductor TiO2 electrode and dye sensitizer BIMCOOH are electron injection processes from excited states of the dyes to the semiconductor conduction band.

Experimental and theoretical analysis of loading characteristics of electret filter media for charged particles

The degradation of filtration performance in electret filter media during usage poses a significant challenge. Pre-charging of aerosols has been identified as an effective method to mitigate this issue. However, the effects of particle charging characteristics on the loading characteristics of electret filters still need a comprehensive understanding. In this study, a needle-cylinder corona charger was employed to pre-charge aerosols, and the particle charge state was determined by multiphysics simulation. The effects of particle charge polarity and charge quantity on the loading performance of the electret filter were quantitatively investigated. The results showed that the particle charge polarity had a negligible impact on the loading performance under the condition of the equivalent particle charge quantity. In addition, the charged particles effectively improved the efficiency degradation during the loading process of electret media, with higher charge quantities resulting in more pronounced improvements. The electrostatic attenuation factor showed a negative exponential correlation with the particle charge quantity. This was attributed to the uneven particle deposition on fiber surface due to the attraction of charged particles by the opposite charges on the electret fibers, which alleviated the effect of electrostatic shielding.

Current cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL)activating immunotherapy requires a major histocompatibility complex I(MHC-I)-mediated presentation of tumor-associated antigens,which malfunctions in around half of patients with triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Here,we create a LCL161-loaded macrophage membrane decorated nanoparticle(LMN)for immunotherapy of MHC-I-deficient *** on the macrophage membrane helps LMNs recognize CD47-expressing cancer cells for targeted delivery of LCL161,which induces the release of high mobility group protein 1 and proinflammatory cytokines from cancer *** released cytokines and high mobility group protein 1 activate antitumor immunity by increasing the intratumoral density of the phagocytic macrophage subtype by 15 times and elevating the intratumoral concentration of CTL lymphotoxin by 4.6 *** also block CD47-mediated phagocytosis *** inhibit the growth of MHC-I-deficient TNBC tumors,as well as those resistant to combined therapy of anti-PDL1 antibody and albumin-bound paclitaxel,and prolong the survival of animals,during which process CTLs also play important *** macrophage membrane-decorated nanoparticle presents a generalizable platform for increasing macrophagemediated antitumor immunity for effective immunotherapy of MHC-I-deficient cancers.

Exceptional Early Jurassic fossils with leathery eggs shed light on dinosaur reproductive biology

Our understanding of pre-Cretaceous dinosaur reproduction is hindered by a scarcity of evidence within fossil records. Here we report three adult skeletons and five clutches of embryo-containing eggs of a new sauropodomorph from the Lower Jurassic of southwestern China, displaying several significant reproductive features that are either unknown or unlike other early-diverging sauropodomorphs, such as relatively large eggs with a relatively thick calcareous shell formed by prominent mammillary cones, synchronous hatching and a transitional prehatching posture between the crocodilians and living birds. Most significantly,these Early Jurassic fossils provide strong evidence for the earliest known leathery eggs. Our comprehensive quantitative analyses demonstrate that the first dinosaur eggs were probably leathery, elliptical and relatively small, but with relatively long eggshell units, and that along the line to living birds, the most significant change in reptilian egg morphology occurred early in theropod evolution rather than near the origin of Aves.

U-Net Models for Representing Wind Stress Anomalies over the Tropical Pacific and Their Integrations with an Intermediate Coupled Model for ENSO Studies

El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)is the strongest interannual climate mode influencing the coupled ocean-atmosphere system in the tropical Pacific,and numerous dynamical and statistical models have been developed to simulate and predict *** some simplified coupled ocean-atmosphere models,the relationship between sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies and wind stress(τ)anomalies can be constructed by statistical methods,such as singular value decomposition(SVD).In recent years,the applications of artificial intelligence(AI)to climate modeling have shown promising prospects,and the integrations of AI-based models with dynamical models are active areas of *** study constructs U-Net models for representing the relationship between SSTAs andτanomalies in the tropical Pacific;the UNet-derivedτmodel,denoted asτUNet,is then used to replace the original SVD-basedτmodel of an intermediate coupled model(ICM),forming a newly AI-integrated ICM,referred to as *** simulation results obtained from ICM-UNet demonstrate their ability to represent the spatiotemporal variability of oceanic and atmospheric anomaly fields in the equatorial *** the ocean-only case study,theτUNet-derived wind stress anomaly fields are used to force the ocean component of the ICM,the results of which also indicate reasonable simulations of typical ENSO *** results demonstrate the feasibility of integrating an AI-derived model with a physics-based dynamical model for ENSO modeling ***,the successful integration of the dynamical ocean models with the AI-based atmospheric wind model provides a novel approach to ocean-atmosphere interaction modeling studies.

Self-Triggered Set Stabilization of Boolean Control Networks and Its Applications

Set stabilization is one of the essential problems in engineering systems, and self-triggered control(STC) can save the storage space for interactive information, and can be successfully applied in networked control systems with limited communication resources. In this study, the set stabilization problem and STC design of Boolean control networks are investigated via the semi-tensor product technique. On the one hand, the largest control invariant subset is calculated in terms of the strongly connected components of the state transition graph, by which a graph-theoretical condition for set stabilization is derived. On the other hand, a characteristic function is exploited to determine the triggering mechanism and feasible controls. Based on this, the minimum-time and minimum-triggering open-loop, state-feedback and output-feedback STCs for set stabilization are designed,respectively. As classic applications of self-triggered set stabilization, self-triggered synchronization, self-triggered output tracking and self-triggered output regulation are discussed as well. Additionally, several practical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of theoretical results.
