The pollution caused by agricultural production poses a threat to the ecological integrity of river ecosystems,altering the structure and function of river *** in microbial community structure provide useful information about the impact of agricultural pollution on the biological integrity of ecosystems,but generally convey little information regarding ecosystem *** this study,using Illumina MiSeq sequencing technology based on the 16 S rRNA gene,river sediment samples associated with four different types of agricultural pollution were comprehensively *** results show that the total organic carbon(TOC)content was highest at the YZS site(animal husbandry sewage)among the assayed sites,but the species richness and uniformity were lowest at this site,which may have been caused by the high nutrient source of the ***,in the three YZS samples affected by the long-term discharge of aquaculture tail-water,the unique genus Dechloromonas and the genus Candidatus-Competitor were observed,which are strongly correlated with phosphorus *** formation of network modules may correspond to the coexistence of functional bacteria accustomed to multiple niche combinations under different agricultural pollution conditions in river *** to the PICRUSt functional prediction,the bacterial community in the agricultural polluted river sediment primarily harbored 46 subfunctions,exhibiting richness of ***,our results provide a more comprehensive understanding of the structure and ecological processes associated with the aggregation of bacterial communities,which is beneficial for the management of river environments.

Numerical simulations of the flow around two bidirectional staggered propellers are conducted in uniform flow. The computed open water performance of the fore-propeller is compared with the corresponding experimental results, and the influence of the fore-propeller on the aft one is carefully investigated. It is found that the inflow around the aft propeller close to the side of the fore is especially affected by the fore one, leading to abnormal circumferential distribution of force on the blade in the shade region. For either forces or velocity distributions, the abnormal changes behave contrarily for cases with the rotating speed larger or smaller than the idle. moreover, the more the rotating speed of the fore differs from the idle, the larger the abnormal values become.

Developing highly efficient electrochemical catalysts for carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)provides a solution to battle global warming issues resulting from ever-increasing carbon footprint due to human ***(Cu)is known for its efficiency in CO_(2)RR towards value-added hydrocarbons;hence its unique structural properties along with various Cu alloys have been extensively explored in the past ***,we demonstrate a two-step approach to achieve intimate atomic Cu-Ag interfaces on the surface of Cu nanowires,which show greatly improved CO_(2)RR selectivity towards methane(CH4).The specially designed Cu-Ag interfaces showed an impressive maximum Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 72%towards CH4 production at-1.17 V(*** hydrogen electrode(RHE)).

We compare the ionized gas velocity dispersion σgas with the stellar velocity dispersion σ＊ in star-forming galaxies, composite galaxies, Low Ionization Nuclear Emissionline Regions （LINERs） and Seyfert 2s, compiled from a cross-identification of Sloan Digital Sky Survey Fourth Data Release （SDSS DR4） and Point Source Catalogue Redshift Survey （PSCz）. We measure σgas from the FWHMs of emission lines （Hα, [NⅡ]λλ6548, 6583 and [SⅡ]λλ6716, 6731）. A significant correlation between the gas and stellar velocity dispersion exists, despite substantial scatter. The mean value of the gas to stellar velocity dispersion ratio is close to unity. This suggests that gas velocity dispersion can substitute for the stellar velocity dispersion as a tracer of the gravitational potential well for all the four types of galaxies, but the involved uncertainties are different from type to type. We also studied -↑σgas, as a function of the redshift and the axial ratio to test the effects of aperture and galaxy inclination, and found that both effects are weak. Finally we checked the trend of -↑σgas/σ＊ with the infrared luminosity and found no significant correlation.

Edge detection enables identification of geomorphologic unit boundaries and thus assists with geomorphical mapping. In this paper, an intelligent edge identification method is proposed and image processing techniques are applied to multi-beam bathymetry data. To accomplish this, a color image is generated by the bathymetry, and a weighted method is used to convert the color image to a gray image. As the quality of the image has a significant influence on edge detection, different filter methods are applied to the gray image for de-noising. The peak signal-to-noise ratio and mean square error are calculated to evaluate which filter method is most appropriate for depth image filtering and the edge is subsequently detected using an image binarization method. Traditional image binarization methods cannot manage the complicated uneven seafloor, and therefore a binarization method is proposed that is based on the difference between image pixel values; the appropriate threshold for image binarization is estimated according to the probability distribution of pixel value differences between two adjacent pixels in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. Finally, an eight-neighborhood frame is adopted to thin the binary image, connect the intermittent edge, and implement contour extraction. Experimental results show that the method described here can recognize the main boundaries of geomorphologic units. In addition, the proposed automatic edge identification method avoids use of subjective judgment, and reduces time and labor costs.

Weaning piglets usually suffer from severe diarrhea(commonly known as postweaning diarrhea,PWD)along with intestinal motility *** peristalsis is mainly regulated by the longitudinal muscle-myenteric plexus(LM-MP).To understand the relationship between intestinal LM-MP function and the development of PWD,we compared the intestinal electrical activity,and the transcriptional profile of the LM-MP between 21-day-old piglets(just weaned,n=7)and 24-day-old piglets(suffered the most severe weaning stress,n=7).The results showed that 24-day-old piglets exhibited different degrees of diarrhea.A significant increase in the slow-wave frequency in the ileum and colon was observed in 24-day-old piglets,while c-kit expression in the intestinal LM-MPs was significantly decreased,indicating that PWD caused by elevated slow-wave frequency may be associated with loss of *** real-time quantitative PCR(RT-q PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)showed that intestinal LM-MPs in 24-day-old piglets may undergo inflammation and oxidative *** increases in 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine and decreases in thioredoxin suggest that weaning may lead to DNA damage in the LM-MP of 24-day-old *** addition,activating transcription factor 3 was significantly upregulated,indicating nerve damage in the LM-MP of 24-day-old *** transcriptomic results showed that most of the differentially expressed genes in the ileal LM-MP after weaning were downregulated and closely related to the cell cycle *** RT-q PCR analysis showed that the relative expression of p21 was upregulated,while the expression of cyclin A2,cyclin B1,and proliferating cell nuclear antigen was downregulated in the ileal and colonic LM-MP of 24-day-old piglets,suggesting that weaning may inhibit cell proliferation and cause G1/S cell cycle arrest in ileal and colonic *** conclusion,weaning may lead to cell cycle arrest by causing DNA damage in the LM-MP,impairing i
