Few-shot skin cancer detection based on many-objective optimization

Due to the long-tailed distribution characteristics of skin cancer data, quickly identifying rare skin disease samples with small amounts of data becomes a challenging few-shot problem. The detection method based on meta-learning can quickly learn meta-knowledge from the majority of common classes skin disease classes and use prior knowledge to improve the model’s ability to detect rare skin diseases. However, the bias in the quality and distribution of public skin cancer categories leads to the risk of overfitting in the pre-training phase of meta-learning, and meta-learning models based on traditional networks struggle to handle fine-grained skin disease problems. Affronting this issue, a many-objective meta-learning skin cancer detection model is proposed. The proposed model optimizes the distribution of common classes (base classes) by considering various classification performances of the skin cancer detection model, thus obtaining quality-enhanced training samples. And it adopts the ResNet12 network structure integrated with the CCNet attention model, which can significantly enhance the ability to identify fine-grained skin lesion images. Additionally,an improved many-objective optimization algorithm with discrete grouping strategy is designed to efficiently solve the proposed model. Some experiments are conducted on two public medical datasets, ⅠSCⅠ2018 and Derm7pt. The proposed many-objective skin detection model achieves detection accuracies of 67 %, 79 %, and 82 % respectively on binary classification tasks with 1-shot, 3-shot, and 5-shot learning,which validates the effectiveness of the model. © 2024 Northeast University. Photocatalytic degradation kinetics in Rhodamine B dye degradation with poriferous TiO_2 photocatalyst

A type of poriferous TiO2 material was prepared using cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide as a template agent and butyl tetra titanate as a precursor. Through studying the photocatalytic kinetic activity of Rhodamine B photocatalytic degradation reaction with a UV-1601PC ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, the photocatalytic degradation process of Rhodamine B was found to not correspond to the first-order kinetic process completely. According to the reaction phenomenon, the photocatalytic degradation process of Rhodamine B with poriferous TiO2 involved two irreversible reactions. The kinetic model was tested using experimental data.

A highoutput PDMS-MXene/gelatin triboelectric nanogenerator with the petal surface-microstructure

Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)has a promising future in the field of energy harvesting and self-powered sensing due to their simplicity in structure,low cost,and efficient energy harvesting from the surrounding *** output electrical performance of TENG can be improved by doping the friction material with functional materials and modifying the surface of the friction ***,the current method of adding functional materials to friction materials is costly and wasteful,and the method of modifying the surface structure of friction materials is cumbersome and not easy to *** this work,we present a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)-MXene/gelatin triboelectric nanogenerator(PMMG-TENG)based on petal surface-microstructures,which has the advantages of low cost,simple preparation,high output performance,and ecological *** doping 0.03 wt.%of MXene in PDMS,the output electrical performance of TENG can be significantly improved,with an output current increase of up to 139.7%.Four different petals are used as natural molds to prepare *** results show that PMMG-TENG with peony petal surface microstructure has the best electrical performance,and the output current increase of up to 228.17%compared with PMMG-TENG without *** PMMG-TENG with peony petal surface-microstructure exhibits excellent electrical performance,demonstrating a maximum open-circuit voltage of 417.39 V and a maximum short-circuit current of 12.01μA at a size of 3 cm×3 cm,and a maximum power density of 170μW/cm^(2) at a load resistance of 107Ω.The PMMG-TENG’s output performance after 10,000 cycles is consistent with the initial state,highlighting excellent output *** PMMG-TENG can easily light up at least 100 light emitting diodes(LEDs).(operating voltage 3V.)Gelatin film exhibits excellent degradation performance,with complete degradation time of only 150 s in water at a constant temperature of 75℃.PMMG-TENG not only shows excellent performance in

In this editorial,we comment on the article published in the recent issue of the World Journal of *** liver failure(ALF)is a fatal disease that causes uncontrolled massive hepatocyte death and rapid loss of liver *** and pyroptosis,cell death forms that can be initiated or blocked concurrently,can play significant roles in developing inflammation and various ***,their roles in ALF remain *** article discovered the positive feedback between ferroptosis and pyroptosis in the progression of ALF,and revealed that the silent information regulator sirtuin 1(SIRT1)inhibits both pathways through p53,dramatically reducing inflammation and protecting *** suggests the potential use of SIRT1 and its downstream molecules as therapeutics for ***,we will discuss the role of ferroptosis and pyroptosis in ALF and the crosstalk between these cell death ***,we address potential treatments that could alleviate ALF by simultaneously inhibiting both cell death pathways,as well as examples of SIRT1 activators being used as disease treatment strategies,providing new insights into the therapy of ALF.

Monitoring Multi-Temporal Changes of Lakes on the Tibetan Plateau Using Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data from 1992 to 2019: A Case Study of Lake Zhari Namco

Lake level, area and volume are sensitive indicators of climate change. At present, many studies have focused on the interannual water balance of lakes, but lake level and area can change remarkably with seasons, especially for lakes with seasonal ice cover. Zhari Namco, a seasonal frozen lake, was selected as an example to investigate its seasonal water balance. Multi-source altimetry and Landsat data were used to obtain the seasonal lake level and area from 1992 to 2019, and seasonal lake volume variations were also estimated. The results indicated the average lake level, area and volume in autumn were the largest. The lake level, area, and volume experienced three turning points approximately in 2000, 2010, and 2016, and showed an overall increasing trend from 1992 to 2019, with slopes of 0.15 m/year, 2.17 km2/year, and 0.14 km3/year, respectively. The lake area expanded significantly in autumn, which was related to the abundant precipitation. Delay time of land surface runoff, increased temperature, and evaporation may be the reason for the low lake level and volume in summer. The precipitation was the dominant factor of water balance, which explained 62.09%, 62.43%, and 62.10% of the variations in lake level, area, and volume, respectively.

Microplastics(MPs)have become a significant concern for their potential ***,the correlation between the size of plastic particles and their toxicity remains ***,we investigate the toxic effects of different sizes(80 nm,800 nm,8μm and 80μm)polystyrene MPs(PS-MPs)on the model organism Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus).The results of bioluminescent imaging indicate that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to invade the body.H&E staining shows severe damage on the intestinal villi and distinct hepatic steatosis in the 80 nm *** U labeling shows that the proliferation activity of intestinal and liver cells reduces significantly in the 80 nm *** gut microbiome analysis shows a severe imbalance of gut microbiota homeostasis in the 80 nm *** analysis of liver transcriptomics and metabolomics shows that the liver lipid metabolism is disordered in the 80 nm *** conclusion,this study confirms that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to induce intestinal and liver *** the above lay the foundation for further study on the pathological damage of MPs to other organisms.

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of high suspension and low incision(HSLI)surgery on mixed haemorrhoids,compared with Milligan-Morgan ***:A multi-centre,randomized,singleblind,non-inferiority clinical trial was *** with mixed haemorrhoids from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Beijing Rectum Hospital,Air Force Medical Center of People's Liberation Army of China,and Puyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled from September 2016 to March *** using a blocked randomization scheme,participants were assigned to two *** experimental group was treated with HSLI,while the control group was treated with Milligan-Morgan *** primary outcome was the clinical effect evaluated at 12 weeks after *** secondary outcomes included the number of haemorrhoids treated during the operation,pain scores,use of analgesics,postoperative oedema,wound healing,incidence of anal stenosis,anorectal manometry after operation,as well as surgical duration,length of stay and total hospitalization expenses.A safety evaluation was also ***:In total,246 eligible participants were enrolled,with 123 cases in each *** was no significant difference in the clinical effect between the two groups(100.00% vs.99.19%,P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the number of external haemorrhoids treated during the operation and the pain scores after operation were significantly reduced in the experimental group(P0.05).The surgical duration and length of stay in the expe
