Whale sharks,a global migratory species,are often reported entangled in fishing nets in coastal areas of *** effectiveness of conservation measures has been constrained by very limited knowledge on their move-ments and preferred habitats in the coastal areas of *** the first time,we tracked the movements of 2 whale sharks by satellite telemetry in China' *** tracking results of 1 whale shark revealed that it travelled in the South China Sea in a south-eastern direction,parallel to the eastern coast of *** dis-tance travelled was 1018 km,in approximately 74 days,with a mean speed of 14 km per *** appeared to head towards the cool upwelling zones in southern Vietnam at the time of the tag’s *** our study,it was observed that this whale shark was a surface dweller and spent approximately 45%of its time above 10 m water depth and 90%of its time above 50 m *** also tended to stay in water temperatures between 27 and 30°C,and was rarely recorded in water below 20°*** preliminary study indicates the importance of shal-low waters as the foraging habitat for whale sharks,and has implications for their management and conserva-tion.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading causes of ***,the complications can be treated with heparin and heparinoids,such as heparin pentasaccharide Fondaparinux,dermatan sulfate,and PSS made from alginate extracted from brown seaweeds by chemical *** is composed of a linear backbone of polymannuronate(PM),polyguluronate(PG),and alternate residues of mannuronic acid and guluronic *** is unknown if heparin and sulfated PG(PGS)/PM(PMS) have the same or different anticoagulant molecular *** the current study,the anticoagulant activities of PGS,PMS,and their oligosaccharides were directly compared to that of heparin,Fondaparinux,and dermatan sulfate by the activated partial thrombinplastin time(aP TT) assay using normal,antithrombin III(ATIII)-deficient,heparin co-factor II(HCII)-deficient,and ATIII-and HCII-double deficient human *** results showed that PGS,PMS,and their oligosaccharides had better anticoagulant activity than that of Fondaparinux in all four human plasmas *** expected,heparin was the best anticoagulant in normal ***,PGS,PGS6,PGS12,PGS25,PMS6,PMS12,and PMS25 were better anticoagulants than dermatan sulfate in HCII-deficient *** strikingly,PGS,PGS12,PGS25,PMS6,PMS12,and PMS25 were better anticoagulants than that of heparin in ATIII-and HCII-double deficient human *** results revealed for the first time that sulfated alginate had ATIII-and HCII-independent anticoagulant ***,developing PGS and PMS-based anticoagulants might require to discover their major molecular targets and to develop target-specific anticoagulant assays.

A superhydrophobic surface was successfully constructed to modify the layered double hydroxide （LDH） coatings on aluminum alloy using stearic acid. The characteristics of the coatings were investigated using SEM, XRD, FT- IR and XPS. The corrosion resistance of the prepared coatings was studied using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectrum. The results revealed that the superhydrophobic surface considerably improved the corrosion-resistant performance of the LDH coatings on the aluminum alloy substrate. The formation mechanism of the superhydrophobic surface was proposed.

In the present work,the structure,magnetic properties,and cryogenic magnetocaloric effect of weberite-type oxides Gd_(3)MO_(7)(M=Nb,Sb,and Ta)are reported through powder X-ray diffraction,bulk susceptibility,and heat capacity measurements,as well as scaling law analysis and a mean-field approach.A remarkably large isothermal magnetic entropy change of 354.0 m J K^(-1)cm^(-3)is observed for Gd_(3)SbO_(7)under an external field of 9 T at 2.0 *** relative cooling power is estimated to be 618.9 J kg^(-1)(4.8 J cm^(-3))for an applied field of 8.9 T,with the largest adiabatic temperature change being 22.4 K at 6.3 *** magnetocaloric performance of these oxides is quite impressive when compared with the benchmark magnetic refrigerant,gadolinium gallium garnet(Gd_(3)Ga_(5)O_(12),GGG).Therefore,Gd_(3)MO_(7)(M=Nb,Sb,and Ta)are promising alternatives for cryogenic cooling techniques,especially for the magnetic liquefaction of helium.

We present a first-principles investigation on the dynamics and mechanism of the oxidation reaction between water molecules and the reduced PuO2(110)surface using ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)simulations in combination with density functional theory(DFT)+U *** find a dominating dissociation preference of water molecules for the vacancy defect sites on the PuO2(110)surface,irrespective of the water or vacancy *** to hybridizations between the frontier orbitals of water molecule and the electronic states of the vacancy vicinity,partial water dissociation at the vacancy sites is exothermic and *** dissociation product,an OH group,further hydrogenates the PuO2(110)surface by occupying the vacancy *** also observe surface vacancy diffusion induced by the interactions between the water molecules and the surface oxygen atom in the proximity of the defect sites.

In this study, we developed a microfluidic paper analysis device（μPAD） for distance-based detection of Ag+in water. The μPAD was manufactured by wax printing method on filter paper. Then, a layer of gold nanoparticles（AuNPs） was deposited and ascorbic acid was printed on the channel. In the detection, Ag+was reduced by ascorbic acid and coated on the surface of the AuNPs on the channel, forming Au@Ag core/shell nanoparticles. Based on the capillary flow principle, diff erent concentrations of Ag+formed diff erent distances of color ribbons. Thus, quantitative detection of Ag+can be achieved by measuring the distance of the color ribbon. The detection limit of this method was as low as 1 mg·L-1within 15 min and the interference of common metal ions in water can be eliminated. In conclusion, this method had successfully realized the leap from colorimetry to direct reading, realizing fast read and easy manipulation with low-cost.

In high-speed cutting, natural thermocouple, artificial thermocouple and infrared radiation temperature measurement are usually adopted for measuring cutting temperature, but these methods have difficulty in measuring transient temperature accurately of cutting area on account of low response speed and limited cutting condition. In this paper, NiCr/NiSi thin-film thermocouples（TFTCs） are fabricated according to temperature characteristic of cutting area in high-speed cutting by means of advanced twinned microwave electro cyclotron resonance（MW-ECR） plasma source enhanced radio frequency（RF） reaction non-balance magnetron sputtering technique, and can be used for transient cutting temperature measurement. The time constants of the TFTCs with different thermo-junction film width are measured at four kinds of sampling frequency by using Ultra-CFR short pulsed laser system that established. One-dimensional unsteady heat conduction model is constructed and the dynamic performance is analyzed theoretically. It can be seen from the analysis results that the NiCr/NiSi TFTCs are suitable for measuring transient temperature which varies quickly, the response speed of TFTCs can be obviously improved by reducing the thickness of thin-film, and the area of thermo-junction has little influence on dynamic response time. The dynamic calibration experiments are made on the constructed dynamic calibration system, and the experimental results confirm that sampling frequency should be larger than 50 kHz in dynamic measurement for stable response time, and the shortest response time is 0.042 ms. Measurement methods and devices of cutting heat and cutting temperature measurement are developed and improved by this research, which provide practical methods and instruments in monitoring cutting heat and cutting temperature for research and production in high-speed machining.

It is well-known that a close link exists between soil-water retention curve(SWRC)and pore size distribution(PSD).Theoretically,mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP)test simulates a soil drying path and the test results can be used to deduce the SWRC(termed SWRCMIP).However,SWRCMIP does not include the effect of volume change,compared with the conventional SWRC that is directly determined by suction measurement or suction control *** deformable soils,there is a significant difference between conventional SWRC and *** this study,drying test was carried out on a reconstituted silty soil,and the volume change,suction,and PSD were measured on samples with different water *** change in the deduced SWRCMIP and its relationship with the conventional SWRC were *** results showed that the volume change of soil is the main reason accounting for the difference between conventional SWRC and *** on the test results,a transformation model was then proposed for conventional SWRC and SWRCMIP,for which the soil state with no volume change is taken as a *** between the experimental and predicted SWRCs showed that the proposed model can well consider the influence of soil volume change on its water retention property.

To address the private data management problems and realize privacy-preserving data sharing,a blockchain-based transaction system named Ecare featuring information transparency,fairness and scalability is *** proposed system formulates multiple private data access control strategies,and realizes data trading and sharing through on-chain transactions,which makes transaction records transparent and *** our system,the private data are encrypted,and the role-based account model ensures that access to the data requires owner’s ***,a new consensus protocol named Proof of Transactions(PoT)proposed by ourselves has been used to improve consensus *** value of Ecare is not only that it aggregates telemedicine,data transactions,and other features,but also that it translates these actions into transaction events stored in the blockchain,making them transparent and immutable to all *** proposed system can be extended to more general big data privacy protection and data transaction scenarios.
