Evapotranspiration estimation considering anthropogenic heat based on remote sensing in urban area

Urbanization influences hydrologic cycle significantly on local,regional even global *** urbanization the water resources demand for dense population sharpened,thus it is a great challenge to ensure water supply for some metropolises such as *** area is traditionally considered as the area with lower evapotranspiration(ET) on account of the impervious surface and the lower wind *** most remote sensing models,the ET,defined as latent heat in energy budget,is estimated as the difference between net radiation and sensible *** sensible heat is generally higher in urban area due to the high surface temperature caused by heat island,therefore the latent heat(*** ET) in urban area is lower than that in other *** estimated water consumption from 2003 to 2012 in Beijing based on water balance method and found that the annual mean ET in urban area was about 654 ***,using Surface Energy Balance System(SEBS) model,the annual mean ET in urban area was only 348 *** attributed this inconsistence to the impact of anthropogenic heat and quantified this impact on the basis of the night-light ***,a new model SEBS-Urban,coupling SEBS model and anthropogenic heat was developed to estimate the ET in urban *** ET in urban area of Beijing estimated by SEBS-Urban showed a good agreement with the ET from water balance *** findings from this study highlighted that anthropogenic heat should be included in the surface energy budget for a highly urbanized area.

Variability of complementary relationship and its mechanism on different time scales

In the complementary relationship (CR) between actual and potential evapotranspiration, wet envi- ronment evapotranspiration (Ew) is usually calculated using the Priestley-Taylor (P-T) equation. Based on the data obtained from 38 catchments of the Haihe River basin and the Weishan experiment site in Shandong Province of China, this study has found variations in the Priestley-Taylor parameter α (e.g. increase in values with increase in the amount of precipitation on annual scale, seasonal fluctuation noted to be at a maximum during winter and at a minimum during summer, and increased values in the forenoon and decreased values in the afternoon on an hourly scale). This paper explains that the in- ter-annual variation in α is due to the negative feedback of atmosphere in response to changes in ac- tual increase in evapotranspiration, which is weakened because the atmosphere system is open. The parameter α undergoes a seasonal fluctuation brought about by seasonal changes in advection be- tween continent and ocean; α likewise undergoes a daily variation as a result of atmospheric hysteresis in response to the changes in land surface energy.

A distributed scheme developed for eco-hydrological modeling in the upper Heihe River

Modeling the hydrological processes at catchment scale requires a flexible distributed scheme to represent the catchment topography,river network and vegetation *** study has developed a distributed scheme for eco-hydrological simulation in the upper Heihe *** on a 1 km×1 km grid system,the study catchment is divided into 461 sub-catchments,whose main streams form the streamflow ***,a 1 km grid is represented by a number of topographically similar"hillslope-valley"systems,and the hillslope is the basic unit of the eco-hydrological *** model is tested with a simplified hydrological simulation focusing on soil-water dynamics and streamflow *** on a 12-year simulation from 2001 to 2012,it is found that variability in hydrological behavior is closely associated with climatic and landscape conditions especially vegetation *** subsurface and groundwater flows dominate the total river *** implies that the soil freezing and thawing process would significantly influence the runoff generation in the upper Heihe ***,the runoff components and water balance characteristics vary among different vegetation types,showing the importance of coupling the vegetation pattern into catchment hydrological *** paper also discusses the model improvement to be done in future study.

Deterministic Learning-Based Neural PID Control for Nonlinear Robotic Systems

Traditional proportional-integral-derivative(PID)controllers have achieved widespread success in industrial ***,the nonlinearity and uncertainty of practical systems cannot be ignored,even though most of the existing research on PID controllers is focused on linear ***,developing a PID controller with learning ability is of great significance for complex nonlinear *** article proposes a deterministic learning-based advanced PID controller for robot manipulator systems with *** introduction of neural networks(NNs)overcomes the upper limit of the traditional PID feedback mechanism’s *** proposed control scheme not only guarantees system stability and tracking error convergence but also provides a simple way to choose the three parameters of PID by setting the proportional *** the partial persistent excitation(PE)condition,the closed-loop system unknown dynamics of robot manipulator systems are accurately approximated by *** on the acquired knowledge from the stable control process,a learning PID controller is developed to further improve overall control performance,while overcoming the problem of repeated online weight *** studies and physical experiments demonstrate the validity and practicality of the proposed strategy discussed in this article.

Monocular 3D object detection is challenging due to the lack of accurate depth *** methods estimate the pixel-wise depth maps from off-the-shelf depth estimators and then use them as an additional input to augment the RGB ***-based methods attempt to convert estimated depth maps to pseudo-LiDAR and then use LiDAR-based object detectors or focus on the perspective of image and depth fusion ***,they demonstrate limited performance and efficiency as a result of depth inaccuracy and complex fusion mode with *** from these approaches,our proposed depth-guided vision transformer with a normalizing flows(NF-DVT)network uses normalizing flows to build priors in depth maps to achieve more accurate depth *** we develop a novel Swin-Transformer-based backbone with a fusion module to process RGB image patches and depth map patches with two separate branches and fuse them using cross-attention to exchange information with each ***,with the help of pixel-wise relative depth values in depth maps,we develop new relative position embeddings in the cross-attention mechanism to capture more accurate sequence ordering of input *** method is the first Swin-Transformer-based backbone architecture for monocular 3D object *** experimental results on the KITTI and the challenging Waymo Open datasets show the effectiveness of our proposed method and superior performance over previous counterparts.

The technological revolution has spawned a new generation of industrial systems,but it has also put forward higher requirements for safety management accuracy,timeliness,and *** assessment needs to evolve to address the existing and future challenges by considering the new demands and advancements in safety *** study aims to propose a systematic and comprehensive risk assessment method to meet the needs of process system safety *** methodology first incorporates possibility,severity,and dynamicity(PSD)to structure the“51X”evaluation indicator system,including the inherent,management,and disturbance risk ***,the four-tier(risk point-unit-enterprise-region)risk assessment(RA)mathematical model has been established to consider supervision *** in conclusion,the application of the PSD-RA method in ammonia refrigeration workshop cases and safety risk monitoring systems is presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed PSD-RA method in safety *** findings show that the PSD-RA method can be well integrated with the needs of safety work informatization,which is also helpful for implementing the enterprise's safety work responsibility and the government's safety supervision responsibility.

Pure State Feedback Switching Control Based on the Online Estimated State for Stochastic Open Quantum Systems

For the n-qubit stochastic open quantum systems,based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and LaSalle’s invariant set principle,a pure state switching control based on on-line estimated state feedback(short for OQST-SFC)is proposed to realize the state transition the pure state of the target state including eigenstate and superposition *** proposed switching control consists of a constant control and a control law designed based on the Lyapunov method,in which the Lyapunov function is the state distance of the *** constant control is used to drive the system state from an initial state to the convergence domain only containing the target state,and a Lyapunov-based control is used to make the state enter the convergence domain and then continue to converge to the target *** the same time,the continuous weak measurement of quantum system and the quantum state tomography method based on the on-line alternating direction multiplier(QST-OADM)are used to obtain the system information and estimate the quantum state which is used as the input of the quantum system ***,the pure state feedback switching control method based on the on-line estimated state feedback is realized in an n-qubit stochastic open quantum *** complete derivation process of n-qubit QST-OADM algorithm is given;Through strict theoretical proof and analysis,the convergence conditions to ensure any initial state of the quantum system to converge the target pure state are *** proposed control method is applied to a 2-qubit stochastic open quantum system for numerical simulation *** possible different position cases between the initial estimated state and that of the controlled system are studied and discussed,and the performances of the state transition under the corresponding cases are analyzed.

Quantum gate-assisted teleportation in noisy environments:robustness and fidelity improvement

Quantum teleportation as the key strategy for quantum communication requires pure maximally shared entangled states among quantum *** practice,quantum decoherence drastically degrades the shared entanglement during entanglement distribution,which is a serious challenge for the development of quantum ***,most of the decoherence control strategies proposed thus far are either resource-intensive or *** overcome this obstacle,we enable noise-resistant teleportation through a noisy channel with a limited number of qubits and without applying time-consuming weak *** apply a quantum gate control unit consisting of a controlled NOT gate and a rotation gate after the original teleportation protocol is ***,we demonstrate that a teleportation fidelity of unity is attainable when environment-assisted measurement is added to the proposed teleportation protocol via quantum ***,we present an entanglement distribution process by employing the designed quantum gate control unit followed by the deterministic standard teleportation protocol to improve teleportation fidelity by establishing improved shared *** performance analysis indicates that the proposed teleportation schemes offer a competitive fidelity and success probability compared with the conventional schemes and a recent weak measurement-based teleportation protocol.
