In this paper, we first propose an extended Casimir method for energy-shaping. Then it is used to solve some control problems of Hamiltonian systems. To solve the Hoo control problem, the energy function of a Hamiltonian system is shaped to such a form that could be a candidate solution of HJI inequality. Next, the energy function is shaped as a candidate of control ISS-Lyapunov function, and then the input-to-state stabilization of port-controlled Hamiltonian systems is achieved. Some easily verifiable sufficient conditions are presented.

Some main formulas about semi-tensor product（STP） of matrices are presented in their mostly updated forms. The formulas consist of（i） fundamental formulas about STP;（ii） swap and permutation related formulas;（iii） formulas for the application of STP to logical systems;（iv） the relationship of STP with Kronecker products;（v） formulas for the application of STP to game theory. The paper provides a convenient tool for investigating and applying STP.

This paper presents some recent works on the control of dynamic systems,which have certain complex properties caused by singularity of the nonlinear structures,structure^varyings, or evolution process etc. First, we consider the structure singularity of nonlinear control systems. It was revealed that the focus of researches on nonlinear control theory is shifting from regular systems to singular systems. The singularity of nonlinear systems causes certain complexity. Secondly, the switched systems are considered. For such systems the complexity is caused by the structure varying. We show that the switched systems have significant characteristics of complex systems. Finally, we investigate the evolution systems. The evolution structure makes complexity, and itself is a proper model for complex systems.

Since the study of Hamiltonian control systems depends heavily on symplectic geometry and the concept of general Hamiltonian systems, in the paper most efforts have been put on building such a working benchmark. Therefore, it may be necessary to give a further discussion on Hamiltonian control systems.

In this paper, we use center manifold theory to give a new result aboutthe stabilization of nonlinear systems. First an illustrative example is given to show ourmotivation. Then the main result by means of center manifold and homogeneous stabilityis proposed, and its application to a generalized form without the usual relative degreebecause of singularity is given.

The stabilization of a class of switched nonlinear systems is investigated in the paper. The systems concerned are of （generalized） switched Byrnes-Isidori canonical form, which has all switched models in （generalized） Byrnes- Isidori canonical form. First, a stability result of switched systems is obtained. Then it is used to solve the stabilization problem of the switched nonlinear control systems. In addition, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for a switched affine nonlinear system to be feedback equivalent to （generalized） switched Byrnes-Isidori canonical systems are presented. Finally, as an application the stability of switched lorenz systems is investigated.
