Pilot-scale study of removal effect on Chironomid larvae with chlorine dioxide

Chironomid larvae propagated excessively in eutrophic water body and could not be effectively inactivated by the conventional disinfection process like chlorination due to its stronger resistance to oxidation. In this paper, a pilot-scale study of chlorine dioxide preoxidation cooperating with routine clarification process for Chironomid larvae removal was conducted in Shenzhen Waterworks in Guangdong Province, China. The experimental results were compared with that of the existing prechlorination process in several aspects, including the Chironomid larvae removal efficiencies of water samples taken from the outlets of sedimentation tank, sand filter, the security of drinking water and so on. The results showed that chlorine dioxide might be more effective to inactivate Chironomid larvae than chlorine and Chironomid larvae could be thoroughly removed from water by pre-dosing chlorine dioxide process. The GC-MS examination and Ames test further showed that the sort and amount of organic substance in the treated water by chlorine dioxide preoxidation were evidently less than that ofprechlorination and the mutagenicity of drinking water treated by pre-dosing chlorine dioxide was substantially reduced compared with prechlorination.

Carbon-bearing stratum normally features low resistance and high *** the lithostratigraphy of the exploration area contains large amounts of carbon,the induced polarization anomaly caused by metal sulfide ore bodies will be inundated by the high polarization of carbon-containing wall *** this work,we adopted time-domain induced polarization(TDIP)and controlled-source audio-frequency magnetotellurics(CSAMT)on deep prospecting of the carbon-bearing stratum of the Ar Horqin Banner,Inner *** underground medium is divided into target geologic bodies according to the geological information within the known exploration line borehole,and the physical properties of various target geologic bodies are calculated using weighted averages to build a geologic-geophysical model that can fit the observation ***,we can determine the range and morphological characteristics of the electrical properties of the ore-bearing geologic bodies in the inversion results in the study *** we can use the characteristics summarized from the known exploration line to interpret unknown exploration *** indicated that,when the diff erence in physical properties between the ore body and interference wall rock is not clear,the geologic body can be classifi ed via the paragenetic(associated)assemblage relations of the underground *** interpretation is guided by the comprehensive physical properties of ore-bearing geologic bodies to avoid interferences.

BACKGROUND Whether regional lymphadenectomy(RL)should be routinely performed in patients with T1b gallbladder cancer(GBC)remains a subject of *** To investigate whether RL can improve the prognosis of patients with T1b *** We studied a multicenter cohort of patients with T1b GBC who underwent surgery between 2008 and 2016 at 24 hospitals in 13 provinces in *** logrank test and Cox proportional hazards model were used to compare the overall survival(OS)of patients who underwent cholecystectomy(Ch)+RL and those who underwent Ch *** investigate whether combined hepatectomy(Hep)improved OS in T1b patients,we studied patients who underwent Ch+RL to compare the OS of patients who underwent combined Hep and patients who did *** Of the 121 patients(aged 61.9±10.1 years),77(63.6%)underwent Ch+RL,and 44(36.4%)underwent Ch ***(9.1%)patients in the Ch+RL group had lymph node *** 5-year OS rate was significantly higher in the Ch+RL group than in the Ch group(76.3%vs 56.8%,P=0.036).Multivariate analysis showed that Ch+RL was significantly associated with improved OS(hazard ratio:0.51;95%confidence interval:0.26-0.99).Among the 77 patients who underwent Ch+RL,no survival improvement was found in patients who underwent combined Hep(5-year OS rate:79.5%for combined Hep and 76.1%for no Hep;P=0.50).CONCLUSION T1b GBC patients who underwent Ch+RL had a better prognosis than those who underwent ***+Ch showed no improvement in prognosis in T1b GBC *** recommended by both the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and Chinese Medical Association guidelines,RL was only performed in 63.6%of T1b GBC *** Ch+RL should be advised in T1b GBC.

AIM: To isolate a novel isoform of human HPO (HPO-205) from human fetal liver Marathon-ready cDNA and characterize its primary biological function. METHODS: 5'-RACE (rapid amplification of cDNA 5' ends) was used to isolate a novel isoform of hHPO in this paper. The constructed pcDNA(HPO-205), pcDNA(HPO) and pcDNA eukaryotic expression vectors were respectively transfected by lipofectamine method and the stimulation of DNA synthesis was observed by (3)H-TdR incorporation assay. Proteins extracted from different cells were analyzed by Western blot. RESULTS: A novel isoform of hHPO (HPO-205) encoding a 205 amino acid ORF corresponding to a translated production of 23 kDa was isolated and distinguished from the previous HPO that lacked the N-terminal 80 amino acids. The dose-dependent stimulation of DNA synthesis of HepG2 hepatoma cells by HPO-205 demonstrated its similar biological activity with HPO in vitro. The level of MAPK (Mitogen-activated protein kinase) phosphorylation by Western blot analysis revealed that HPO-205 might have the stronger activity of stimulating hepatic cell proliferation than that of HPO. CONCLUSION: A novel isoform of hHPO (HPO-205) was isolated from hepatic-derived cells. The comparison of HPO-205 and HPO will lead to a new insight into the structure and function of hHPO, and provide the new way of thinking to deeply elucidate the biological roles of HPO/ALR.

根区低温对嫁接的黄瓜幼苗根系生长和^(15)N吸收分配的影响

以黑籽南瓜(Cucurbita ficifolia)嫁接苗("黑籽")、白籽南瓜(***×***)嫁接苗("白籽")和‘津优35号’("自根")为试材,研究了常温(18~20°C)、亚适温(13~15°C)、低温(8~10°C)三种根区温度对黄瓜(Cucumis sativus)幼苗根系生长和^(15)N吸收和分配特性的影响。结果表明:亚适温和低温处理显著抑制了黄瓜幼苗根系长度、表面积、体积、根尖数以及分叉数,造成黄瓜幼苗根系丙二醛(MDA)含量增加,超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和过氧化物酶(POD)活性降低。随着根区温度降低,黄瓜幼苗根系氮肥吸收比例(Ndff)升高,茎和叶片Ndff降低,^(15)N分配在根和茎增多,叶片减少,^(15)N利用率逐渐降低。亚适温和低温处理下,"黑籽"的根系形态特征、抗氧化酶活性、^(15)N吸收分配和利用均优于"白籽"和"自根","黑籽"南瓜嫁接苗生长的黄瓜幼苗根区对低温的适应能力最强,"自根"受到的根区低温胁迫伤害最大。

目的评估内镜下置放金属胆道支架对恶性胆道梗阻患者姑息治疗的疗效。方法纳入病例为恶性疾病所致的梗阻性黄疸不能外科手术者。自2000年5月￣2003年11月共有21例患者接受了胆道金属支架放置术及随访观察。结果放置成功率与临床有效率分别是100%和95%,没有出现与手术相关的严重并发症。术后7d血清总胆红素平均下降70.8%,60d内的病死率为4.7%。支架置入后存活时间最短32d。有3例(14.3%)分别于术后90、168、850d发生支架阻塞,经ERCP确定为支架阻塞的3例患者均行塑料支架置入术,最长存活者已超过3年。结论对恶性胆道梗阻的姑息治疗,置入金属胆道支架较经皮经肝和外科手术引流创伤性小,并发症发生率低,可持久引流胆汁、改善临床症状,提高患者的生活质量,延长生存期,是一种安全、有效的选择。
