Acupuncture and moxibustion for malignant tumor patients with psychological symptoms of insomnia,anxiety and depression:a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy(AMT) for cancerrelated psychological symptoms(CRPS) of insomnia,depression and anxiety.METHODS:Seven databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCT) comparing AMT to routine care or conventional drug for alleviating CRPS of insomnia,depression,and anxiety before April 2020.Two independent reviewers performed the data extraction and assessed the risk of bias.RESULTS:A total of 30 RCTs involving 2483 cancer patients were enrolled.The pooled analysis indicated that the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in improving the depression effective rate [RR = 1.29,95% CI(1.12,1.49),P = 0.0004],the quality of life(QOL) [MD = 1.11,95% CI(0.80,1.42),P < 0.000 01],and reducing Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) [MD =﹣7.75,95% CI(﹣10.44,﹣5.05),P < 0.000 01].But there was no statistically significant difference between two groups in improving the insomnia effective rate [RR = 1.18,95% CI(0.93,1.51),P = 0.18].The subgroup analysis showed the effectiveness of different intervention on CRPS.Compared with routine care,AMT helps relieve CRPS better evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),and depression effective rate.Compared with conventional drug,AMT performs better evaluated by SDS,depression effective rate and QOL.Moreover,the conventional drug showed higher treatment efficacy on improving insomnia effective rate compared with AMT.Compared to conventional drug,AMT plus conventional drug resulted in a significant reduction on CRPS such as PSQI,HAMD,SDS,and SAS,and also had a meaningful improvement on insomnia effective rate,depression effective rate and QOL.Fewer published reports were found on the adverse events of AMT than the conventional drug.CONCLUSION:The results suggested that AMT might be effective in improving CPRI;however,a definite conclusion could not be drawn because the quality of trials are low.Further large-scale an

Accommodating target analytes within the pores of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)to improve the sensing performance is an important but challenging task.Here,we report a novel molecular imprinting strategy to create target recognition sites in a tailored multicomponent MOF with the inter-ligand synergistic antenna effect to lanthanide ions,enabling selective recognition of trace biomarkers,which is critical to the early diagnosis of age-related diseases in blood samples with high sensitivity and ultralow limit of detection(LOD)of 69 nmol L^(-1).Compared with MOF-based sensors without imprinted recognition sites,the significantly enhanced sensing performance(both sensitivity and LOD)was attributed to a dynamic-static coupled sensing mechanism:the dynamic interactions involve concentrating the trace biomarkers at the imprinted recognition sites to enhance the sensing performance at ultralow concentration,and the static interactions are derived from electron/energy exchange between the molecularly imprinted MOF and the biomarker to govern the sensing performance.This work establishes a new molecular imprinting strategy to attain advanced materials for sensing trace bio-analytes.

Background:Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is a particularly heterogeneous autoimmune disease.This study was intended to clarify the correlations between X-inactive-specific transcript(XIST)expression and SLE clinical features and the contribution of XIST to SLE pathogenesis at the transcriptome level.Methods:XIST expression in 79 SLE patients,14 rheumatoid arthritis patients,and 23 healthy controls was determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction.The Benjamini and Hochberg adjusted method and multivariate linear regression were applied to correct p-values and adjust confounding factors,respectively.Bioinformatic methods were used to explore the function and regulatory mechanism of XIST.Results:XIST was significantly elevated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and CD4^(+)T cells from SLE patients compared with the levels in healthy controls and had potential diagnostic value for SLE.Notably,XIST expression was positively correlated with the SLE disease activity index and significantly reduced after effective treatment.Moreover,SLE patients with high XIST expression tended to have elevated levels of CD4^(+)T cells,but reduced levels of NK cells.Bioinformatic analyses suggested that XIST may regulate OLFM4 and CEACAM8 expression by acting as a spongy body for miR-20a,miR-92a,miR-106a,and miR-449a.Furthermore,CEACAM8 was significantly upregulated in CD4^(+)T cells from SLE patients and significantly positively correlated with XIST expression.Conclusions:lncRNA XIST,a potential diagnostic and therapeutic biomarker for SLE,is involved in the change of immune cell balance in the peripheral blood of SLE patients.Mechanistically,XIST may regulate the miR-17-92-CEACAM8 axis to achieve this in CD4^(+)T cells.

Innovative Design and Additive Manufacturing of Regenerative Cooling Thermal Protection System Based on the Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Porous Structure

The new regenerative cooling thermal protection system exhibits the multifunctional characteristics of load-carrying and heat exchange cooling,which are fundamental for the lightweight design and thermal protection of hypersonic vehicles.Triply periodic minimal surface(TPMS)is especially suitable for the structural design of the internal cavity of regenerative cooling structures owing to its excellent structural characteristics.In this study,test pieces were manufactured using Ti6Al4V lightweight material.We designed three types of porous test pieces,and the interior was filled with a TPMS lattice(Gyroid,Primitive,I-WP)with a porosity of 30%.All porous test pieces were manufactured via selective laser melting technology.A combination of experiments and finite element simulations were performed to study the selection of the internal cavity structure of the regenerative cooling thermal protection system.Hence,the relationship between the geometry and mechanical properties of a unit cell is established,and the deformation mechanism of the porous unit cell is clarified.Among the three types of porous test pieces,the weight of the test piece filled with the Gyroid unit cell was reduced by 8.21%,the average tensile strength was reduced by 17.7%compared to the solid test piece,while the average tensile strength of the Primitive and I-WP porous test pieces were decreased by 30.5%and 33.3%,respectively.Compared with the other two types of unit cells,Gyroid exhibited better mechanical conductivity characteristics.Its deformation process was characterised by stretching,shearing,and twisting,while the Primitive and I-WP unit cells underwent tensile deformation and tensile and shear deformation,respectively.The finite element predictions in the study agree well with the experimental results.The results can provide a basis for the design of regenerative cooling thermal protection system.

Planning and design of a micro energy network for seawater desalination and regional energy interconnection

With the rapid developme nt of the economy, the continu ously in creasing populati on, and ongoing climate change, the shortage of freshwater resources has become an increasingly important global problem. Seawater desalination tech no logy can effectively alleviate the pressure on freshwater supplies and has bee n in vestigated in many countries. However, the majority of existing projects focus on the research and development of desalination equipment and the use of new tech no logies and pay less atte ntion to the operation optimizati on of the desalinati on process. The micro energy n etwork (MEN) designed in this study is an efficient distributed energy supply system that can be used to simultaneously supply electricity, cooling, heating, and freshwater as photovoltaic power, wind power, combined heat and power (CHP), electric cooling and heating, and a seawater desalinati on device are in teg rated into the MEN. In this study, a model for operati on optimization of a MEN for seawater desalination was developed and the influences of the electric cooling and heating ratios and the operation optimization of the seawater desalination device were studied with the aim of minimizing the life cycle cost. Based on the results of this study, MENs can reduce the operation cost of desalination devices and improve the efficiency of renewable energy sources.

Coordinated control of coastal multi-source multi-load system with desalination load: a review

Traditional seawater desalination requires high amounts of energy, with correspondingly high costs and limited benefits, hindering wider applications of the process. To further improve the comprehensive economic benefits of seawater desalination, the desalination load can be combined with renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, and ocean energy or with the power grid to ensure its effective regulation. Utilizing energy internet(EI) technology, energy balance demand of the regional power grid, and coordinated control between coastal multi-source multi-load and regional distribution network with desalination load is reviewed herein. Several key technologies, including coordinated control of coastal multi-source multi-load system with seawater desalination load, flexible interaction between seawater desalination and regional distribution network, and combined control of coastal multi-source multi-load storage system with seawater desalination load, are discussed in detail. Adoption of the flexible interaction between seawater desalination and regional distribution networks is beneficial for solving water resource problems, improving the ability to dissipate distributed renewable energy, balancing and increasing grid loads, improving the safety and economy of coastal power grids, and achieving coordinated and comprehensive application of power grids, renewable energy sources, and coastal loads.

Background:The incubation period is a crucial index of epidemiology in understanding the spread of the emerging Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this study,we aimed to describe the incubation period of COVID-19 globally and in the mainland of China.Methods:The searched studies were published from December 1,2019 to May 26,2021 in CNKI,Wanfang,PubMed,and Embase databases.A random-efect model was used to pool the mean incubation period.Meta-regression was used to explore the sources of heterogeneity.Meanwhile,we collected 11545 patients in the mainland of China outside Hubei from January 19,2020 to September 21,2020.The incubation period ftted with the Log-normal model by the coarseDataTools package.Results:A total of 3235 articles were searched,53 of which were included in the meta-analysis.The pooled mean incubation period of COVID-19 was 6.0 days(95%confdence interval[CI]5.6–6.5)globally,6.5 days(95%CI 6.1–6.9)in the mainland of China,and 4.6 days(95%CI 4.1–5.1)outside the mainland of China(P=0.006).The incubation period varied with age(P=0.005).Meanwhile,in 11545 patients,the mean incubation period was 7.1 days(95%CI 7.0–7.2),which was similar to the fnding in our meta-analysis.Conclusions:For COVID-19,the mean incubation period was 6.0 days globally but near 7.0 days in the mainland of China,which will help identify the time of infection and make disease control decisions.Furthermore,attention should also be paid to the region-or age-specifc incubation period.

The Longnan M_S5. 5 Earthquake on September 12, 2008:A Very Shallow Event Probably Triggered by the Wenchuan Earthquake

The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake has a significant impact on the seismicity of nearby regions. The Longnan earthquake which occurred on September 12,2008 in Gansu Province was out of the aftershock zone. Reliable source parameters are essential for understanding the seismogenic process of this earthquake. Therefore,three approaches are adopted to study the source parameters of this event. The focal mechanism is obtained with the g CAP method that takes non-Double-Couple(non-DC)component into account. The two fault planes are NP1:150°/45°/81° and NP2:342°/45°/98°,while the non-DC component is about 53%. The focal depth is 1. 6 km,which indicates the Longnan earthquake is a shallow event. Furthermore,this result is also in good agreement with results obtained with two other approaches:amplitude spectra of Rayleigh wave and surface displacement from In SAR measurement. To analyze the cause of the event,coulomb failure stress change caused by the Wenchuan earthquake on the Longnan earthquake fault plane is calculated. The result shows that coulomb stress change is 30 k Pa around the Longnan earthquake hypocenter,which exceeds the typical triggering threshold of 10 k Pa. The research indicates that the Wenchuan earthquake probably promote the happening of the Longnan earthquake.
