Advanced preparation and application of bimetallic materials in lithium-sulfur batteries:A review

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are considered highly promising as next-generation energy storage systems due to high theoretical capacity(2600 Wh kg^(-1))and energy density(1675 mA h g^(-1))as well as the abundant natural reserves,low cost of elemental sulfur,and environmentally friendly ***,several challenges impede its commercialization including low conductivity of sulfur itself,the severe“shuttle effect”caused by lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)during charge–discharge processes,volume expansion effects and sluggish reaction *** a solution,polar metal particles and their compounds have been introduced as the main hosts for sulfur cathode due to their robust catalytic activity and adsorption capability,effectively suppressing the“shuttle effect”of Li *** alloys and their compounds with multi-functional properties exhibit remarkable electrochemical performance more readily when compared to single-metal ***-designed bimetallic materials demonstrate larger specific surface areas and richer active sites,enabling simultaneous high adsorption capability and strong catalytic *** synergistic effect of the“adsorption-catalysis”sites accelerates the adsorptiondiffusion-conversion process of Li PSs,ultimately achieving a long-lasting Li-S ***,the latest progress and performance of bimetallic materials in cathodes,separators,and interlayers of Li-S batteries are systematically ***,the principles and challenges of Li-S batteries are briefly ***,various mechanisms for suppressing“shuttle effects”of Li PSs are emphasized at the ***,the performance parameters of various bimetallic materials are comprehensively summarized,and some improvement strategies are proposed based on these ***,the future prospects of bimetallic materials are discussed,with the hope of providing profound insights for the rational design and manufacturing of high-performance bimetallic materia

Interpretability of Neural Networks Based on Game-theoretic Interactions

This paper introduces the system of game-theoretic interactions,which connects both the explanation of knowledge encoded in a deep neural networks(DNN)and the explanation of the representation power of a *** this system,we define two gametheoretic interaction indexes,namely the multi-order interaction and the multivariate *** crucially,we use these interaction indexes to explain feature representations encoded in a DNN from the following four aspects:(1)Quantifying knowledge concepts encoded by a DNN;(2)Exploring how a DNN encodes visual concepts,and extracting prototypical concepts encoded in the DNN;(3)Learning optimal baseline values for the Shapley value,and providing a unified perspective to compare fourteen different attribution methods;(4)Theoretically explaining the representation bottleneck of ***,we prove the relationship between the interaction encoded in a DNN and the representation power of a DNN(e.g.,generalization power,adversarial transferability,and adversarial robustness).In this way,game-theoretic interactions successfully bridge the gap between“the explanation of knowledge concepts encoded in a DNN”and"the explanation of the representation capacity of a DNN"as a unified explanation.

Synergistic effects of multiscale TiC and dual-phase structure on tensile properties of particle-reinforced steel

The conventional melting methods were used to obtain in situ TiC particle-reinforced dual-phase steel,followed by hot rolling and heat treatment *** aim was to investigate the effect of TiC particles on the fracture behavior of dual-phase steel at different annealing temperatures,by analyzing the microstructure and tensile behavior of the multiscale TiC particle-reinforced dual-phase *** results showed that TiC particles precipitated in the as-cast microstructure of dual-phase steel were distributed along the grain *** hot rolling,the grain boundary-like morphology of the micron-sized TiC particles was disrupted,and the particles became more refined and evenly distributed in the *** tensile tests revealed that the strength of the TiC particle-reinforced dual-phase steel increased with increasing martensite content,while the elongation *** results were similar to those of conventional *** addition of 1 vol.%multiscale TiC particles improved the strength of the dual-phase steel but did not affect elongation of the *** and holes were primarily concentrated around the TiC particles rather than at the interface of martensite and *** main causes of crack sprouting were TiC particle interface cracking and TiC particle internal ***,the study demonstrated the potential of multiscale TiC particle-reinforced dual-phase steel as a strong and tough *** refined distribution of TiC particles in the matrix improved the strength of the material without compromising its *** results also highlighted the importance of careful selection of reinforcement particles to avoid detrimental effects on the fracture behavior of the material.

Refined acoustic holography via nonlocal metasurfaces

Holography can provide the desired wavefront phase and/or amplitude for imaging,particle manipulation,bacteria trapping,and cell patterning in optics and ***,previous work on acoustic holography is mostly based on local design optimization,either using active control of the sound source or relying on the structural design to provide the desired *** precise control over the acoustic field remains a significant ***,we realize refined single-plane symmetric binary amplitude,asymmetric intensity gradient amplitude,and bi-objective hologram through the non-local holographic imaging theory that considers the acoustic coupling of structural units in *** taking into account the self-radiation and mutual radiation between many small units on a plate of well-designed thickness,as well as the transmission through the plate's apertures,we can effectively regulate the sound field behind the *** demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through numerical simulations and experiments,showcasing a circle,a black hole,and a bi-objective with a circle and a square ***,the acoustic black hole hologram precisely reconstructs the intensity gradient distribution at two bright *** non-local holographic imaging theory is valuable for the fine-intensity regulation of the sound field and is expected to be applied in ultrasound diagnosis and treatment,medical imaging,and other fields.

K doping stabilizes three-dimensional K0.2Na1.3Mn0.5O2-δ as high-performance cathode for sodium-ion batteries

It is a difficult challenge to simultaneously employ the cationic and anionic redox chemistry in cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries with high *** though layered oxides （classified as two-dimensional oxides） demonstrate excellent promise in the high discharge capacity,their poor oxygen transformation via redox reactions is limited by crystal ***,a doping strategy was conceived to tackle this issue and increase redox efficiency.K doping was applied to transform the two-dimensional Na1.3Mn0.7O2（NMO） to threedimensional K0.2Na1.3Mn0.5O2（KNMO）,preventing the irreversible phase shift and preserving the crystal structure’s stability while *** this modification treatment,KNMO features manganese and oxygen reactive sites,delivering a promising energy density of 190mAh·g-1at 5 mA·g-1in the 2.0–4.5 V voltage range (vs71.4 mAh·g-1for the pristine NMO).Moreover,it displays improved capacity retention of more than 83.5% after 50cycles at 50 mA·*** results demonstrated that doped intercalation oxides were promising for redox oxygen transformation in sodium-ion batteries.

Investigation of wake-induced vibration interference between two staggered wave-cone cylinders at subcritical Reynolds number

The wake induced vibration(WIV)of a one-and two-degree-of-freedom(1DOF,2DOF)downstream wave-cone cylinder(WCC)behind a stationary equal-size upstream wave-cone cylinder in the staggered arrangement is numerically investigated at subcritical Reynolds number of 3900 by using shear stressed transfer(SST)k-ωturbulence *** streamwise pitch ratios(P/Dm)vary from 4 to 6 with a fixed incident angleα=8°.Experimental measurements were also performed for the validation of the present numerical *** is found that the largest vibration amplitude in crossflow direction occurred at P/Dm=4,Ur=8 with small difference of streamwise vibration at P/Dm=4,*** from single wavy-cone cylinder(SWCC),the downstream flexible one of a pair staggered WCCs got larger vibration amplitude during phase switching stage instead of in-phase *** upstream wake will suppress the triple frequency of main frequency in the power spectra density(PSD)functions of Cl but stimulate the double one of *** intriguing vibration mechanism happened in all 2DOF cases where the trajectory of downstream WCC is a significant ellipse rather than a figure of *** transformation of phase switching and the variation of the main frequency of drag coefficient(Cd)can be explained by the vortex-shedding modes of downstream WCC.

Dynamic properties of micro-NPR material and its controlling effect on surrounding rock mass with impact disturbances

A novel meta steel with negative Poisson’s ratio effect(termed as micro-NPR steel)is developed for rock support in deep underground *** possesses high strength,high ductility,and high energy absorption *** this paper,static tension and modified dynamic drop hammer tests are performed on this novel material to investigate its mechanical properties *** based on this material,a new generation of micro-NPR anchor cable is developed and applied in field tests subjected to blasting dynamic *** results of laboratory tests reveal that the ultimate elongation of micro-NPR steel under dynamic impacts is more than 30%and it is over 1.5 times that of Q235;the plastic and total energy absorption of micro-NPR are both significantly higher than that of *** test indicates the fine controlling effect of micro-NPR anchor cable on surrounding rock mass under dynamic *** force confirms that micro-NPR cables can distribute and absorb the dynamic energy uniformly around the supported rock when subjected to dynamic disturbance,avoiding local failure induced by excessive stress *** excavation compensation principle and energy-absorbing characteristics are used to explain the support ***,micro-NPR material and anchor cable can control and prevent dynamic disasters in deep underground engineering effectively.

A systematic understanding of microbial reductive dechlorination towards an improved “one health” soil bioremediation: A review and perspective

Chlorinated organic pollutants(COPs), both emerging and traditional, are typical persistent pollutants that harm soil health worldwide. Dechlorinators mediated reductive dechlorination is the optimal way to completely remove COPs from anaerobic soil through a redox reaction driven by electron transfer during microbial anaerobic respiration. Generally, the dechlorinated depletion of COPs in situ often interacts with multiple element biogeochemical activities, e.g., methanogenesis, sulfate reduction, iron reduction, and denitrification. Elucidating the relevance of biogeochemical cycles between COPs and multiple elements and the coupled mechanisms involved, thus, helps to develop effective pollution control strategies with the balance between pollution degradation and element cycles in heterogeneous soil, ultimately contributing to “one health” goal. In this review, we summarized the microbial-chemical coupling redox processes and the driving factors, elucidated the interspecies metabolites exchange and electron transfer mechanisms within COP-dechlorinating communities, and further proposed a detailed design, construction, and analysis framework of engineering COP-dechlorinating microbiomes via “top-down” selfassembly and “bottom-up” synthesis to pave the way from laboratory to practical field application. Especially, we delve into the major challenges and perspectives surrounding the design of state-of-the-art synthetic microbial communities. Our goal is to improve the understanding of the microbial-mediated coupling between reductive dechlorination and element biogeochemical cycling, with a particular focus on the implications for health-integrated soil bioremediation under the “one health” concept.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Distributed PV Grid-Connected Based on Combined Weighting Weights and TOPSIS-RSR Method

To effectively quantify the impact of distributed photovoltaic(PV)access on the distribution network,this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation method of distributed PV grid connection combining subjective and objective combination of assignment and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)—rank sum ratio(RSR)(TOPSIS-RSR)*** on the traditional distribution network evaluation system,a comprehensive evaluation system has been *** fully considers the new development requirements of distributed PV access on the environmental friendliness and absorptive capacity of the distribution grid and comprehensively reflects the impact of distributed PV grid *** analytic hierarchy process(AHP)was used to determine the subjective weights of the primary indicators,and the Spearman consistency test was combined to determine the weights of the secondary indicators based on three objective assignment *** subjective and objective combination weights of each assessment indicator were calculated through the principle of minimum *** the distance between the indicators to be evaluated and the positive and negative ideal solutions,the relative closeness ranking,and qualitative binning by TOPSIS-RSR method to obtain the comprehensive evaluation results of different *** setting up different PV grid-connected scenarios and utilizing the IEEE33 node simulation algorithm,the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed subject-object combination assignment and integrated assessment method are verified.
