The Juancheng chondrite, a new meteorite falling recently in Juancheng County, Shandong Province,{2., is classified as an H5 (S2. chondrite based on the compositions of olivine (Fa= 19.2. σ Fa=0.46) and low-Ca pyroxene (Fs=16.9, σ Fa=0.4). The plagioclase in the Juancheng chondrite is rich in CaO, indicating a relatively high metamorphic temperature the parent body underwent.

The method of production of cristobalite was based on the use of quartz ceramic crucible wastes as the basic raw material. The gypsum casting material was prepared by mixing cristobalite powder, gypsum and silica powder. Calorific properties were tested and the results showed that when the content of cristobalite was more than 50% , the gypsum casting material showed obvious cracks, which was removed into the air from resistance furnace at 600℃ after the baking process was over. The gypsum casting material showed better therma crack resistance, when 0.3 g glass fiber were added into per 100 g mixed powder, with the content of cristobalite controlled between 40%-30%. In 300-600℃, about 0.4% thermal expansion occurred which effectively compensated for the cooling contraction of jewelry alloy making the casting sample meet production needs.
