A laboratory-scale study with a sand column was designed to simulate trichloroethylene（TCE） pollution in the aquifer environment with three-section controlled-release potassium permanganate（CRP） *** main objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of CRP barriers in remediation of TCE in aquifers in a long-term and controlled *** particles with a 1：3 molar ratio of KMnO 4 to stearic acid showed the best controlled-release properties in pure water,and the theoretical release time was 138.5 *** results of TCE removal in the test column indicated that complete removal efficiency of TCE in a sand column by three-section CRP barriers could be reached within 15 *** molar ratio of KMnO 4 to TCE in the three-section CRP barriers was 16：1,which was much lower than 82：1 as required when KMnO 4 solution is used directly to achieve complete destruction of *** result revealed that the efficiency of CRP for remediation of TCE was highly improved after encapsulation.

Earthquake-related hydrochemical changes in thermal springs have been widely observed;however,quantitative modeling of the reactive transport process is *** the present study,we apply reactive transport simulation to capture the hydrochemical responses in a thermal spring following the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 and Lushan Ms 7.0 *** first constrain deep reservoir geothermal fluid compositions and temperature by multicomponent geothermometry,and then a reactive geochemical transport model is constructed to reproduce the hydrochemical evolution *** results show that the recharge from the shallow aquifer increases gradually until it reaches a peak because of the permeability enhancement caused by the Lushan earthquake,which may be the mechanism to explain the earthquake-related hydrochemical *** contrast to the postseismic effect of the Wenchuan earthquake,the chemical evolution can be considered as hydrochemical anomalies related to the Lushan *** study proves that the efficient simulation of reactive transport processes is useful for investigating earthquake-related signals in hydrochemical time series.

The effects of interaction between Bacillus subtilis DBM and soil minerals on Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ)adsorption were *** combination with DBM,the Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ)adsorption capacities of kaolinite and goethite improved compared with the application of the minerals *** modeling results of potentiometric titration data proved that the site concentrations of kaolinite and goethite increased by 80%and 30%,respectively after combination with ***,the involvement of functional groups in the DBM/mineral combinations resulted in lower concentrations of observed sites than the theoretical values and led to the enhancement of desorption rates by NH_4NO_3 and EDTA-Na_*** DBM-mineral complexes might also help to prevent heavy metals from entering DBM cells to improve the survivability of DBM in heavy metal-contaminated *** the combination process,the extracellular proteins of DBM provided more binding sites for the minerals to absorb Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ).In particular,an especially stable complexation site was formed between goethite and phosphodiester bonds from EPS to enhance the Pb(Ⅱ)adsorption ***,we can conclude that the DBM–mineral complexes could improve the Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ)adsorption capacities of minerals and protect DBM in heavy metal-contaminated environments.

The tremendous functional,spatial,and temporal diversity of the plant proteome is regulated by multiple factors that continuously modify protein abundance,modifications,interactions,localization,and activity to meet the dynamic needs of *** the proteome complexity and its underlying genetic variation is attracting increasing research *** spectrometry(MS)‐based proteomics has become a powerful approach in the global study of protein functions and their relation-ships on a systems ***,we review recent breakthroughs and strategies adopted to unravel the diversity of the proteome,with a specific focus on the methods used to analyze posttranslational modifications(PTMs),protein localization,and the organization of proteins into functional *** also consider PTM crosstalk and multiple PTMs temporally regulating the life cycle of ***-nally,we discuss recent quantitative studies using MS to measure protein turnover rates and examine future directions in the study of the plant proteome.

Plants produce a range of carbohydrates to meet their growth and developmental needs. Protein reversible phosphorylation plays key roles in coordinating multiple metabolic pathways and integrating diverse internal and external cues. Understanding such regulatory metabolism will provide novel resources for breeding and crop management by modulating metabolic pathways for control of growth and stress response. In this review, we summarize the complex, multifaceted functions of protein phosphorylation and their connections to plant metabolism. We focus particularly on carbohydrate metabolic pathways that are controlled by key kinases and discuss how they are linked to downstream changes in physiology, important agronomic traits and crop quality.

Supramolecular polymers, which combined of the supramolecular chemistry and polymer science, are constructed from monomers together by reversible noncovalent interactions. Supramolecular polymers in aqueous solution are especially important due to their superior biocompatibility and environmental adaptation, which determined they have wide applications in various areas, such as drug delivery, selfhealing, shape memory. Macrocyclic compounds, such as cyclodextrins, calixarenes, cucurbiturils and pillar[n]arenes, are the most used building blocks in the preparation of supramolecular ***-based supramolecular polymers, which introduce the host-guest interaction in the system,endow these polymers with interesting and smart physical-chemical properties. In this review, we summarized recent studies about supramolecular polymers in aqueous solution based on macrocyclic compounds.

Mechanisms of soil Pb immobilization by Bacillus subtilis DBM, a bacterial strain isolated from a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, were investigated. Adsorption and desorption experiments with living bacterial cells as well as dead cells revealed that both extracellular adsorption and intracellular accumulation were involved in the Pb2＋removal from the liquid phase. Of the sequestered Pb（II）, 8.5% was held by physical entrapment within the cell wall, 43.3% was held by ion-exchange, 9.7% was complexed with cell surface functional groups or precipitated on the cell surface, and 38.5% was intracellularly *** of Pb2＋with carboxyl, hydroxyl, carbonyl, amido, and phosphate groups was demonstrated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis. Precipitates of Pb5（PO4）3OH, Pb5（PO4）3Cl and Pb10（PO4）6（OH）2that formed on the cell surface during the biosorption process were identified by X-ray diffraction analysis. Transmission electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis confirmed the presence of the Pb（II）precipitates and that Pb（II） could be sequestered both extracellularly and *** with B. subtilis DBM significantly decreased the amount of the weak-acid-soluble Pb fraction in a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, resulting in a reduction in Pb bioavailability, but increased the amount of its organic-matter-bound fraction by 71%. The ability of *** DBM to reduce the bioavailability of soil Pb makes it potentially useful for bacteria-assisted phytostabilization of multi-heavy-metal-contaminated soil.

Objective To investigate the cause of high cardiovascular lethality in patients with diabetics mellitus. Methods Sections from autopsied coronary arteries and myocardium of dead patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetics mellitus and 12 dead control subjects were used for histomorphometric studies. Results The coronary atherosclerotic lesion in diabetics patients was not different in severity fi＇om those in controls. Nor was there difference in number ofmyofibers or diameters of myoeardic fibers and *** the capillary density and the ratio of capillary number to myocardic fiber number in diabetics group were significeantly reduced compared with control group（P〈0.0 l）,and the capillary basement membrane in the former was significantly thicker than in the latter（P〈0.01）.Conclision The decrease in number of capillaries and the thickening of basement membrane enhance myocardiac vulnerability to further ischemia and hypoxia,which may undelie high lethality of myocardiopathy in diabetic patients.

One of the key challenges for electrochemical water splitting is the development of low-cost and efficient hydrogen evolution cathode. In this work, a self-supported Ni-P cathode was synthesized by a facile electrodeposition method. The composition and morphology were characterized by X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** Ni-P cathode performed low onset over-potential, good catalytic activity and long-term stability under neutral and alkaline conditions. The mechanism of Ni-P electrode for hydrogen production was discussed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The excellent performance of Ni-P cathode was mainly attributed to the synergistic effect of phosphate anions and the self-supported feature.

Sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide(NTCP)is identified as the functional receptor for HBV entry,which is responsible for upregulated HBV transcription in the HBV life ***,NTCP is also implicated in the progression of HBV-induced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Thereby,NTCP-targeting entry inhibitors are proposed to suppress HBV infection and replication in HBV-induced hepatoma ***,we integrated in silico screening and chemical synthesis to obtain a small-molecule NTCP inhibitor B7,which exhibited moderate anti-proliferative activities against HepG2 cells and anti-HBV activity in ***,CETSA assay,molecular docking,and MD simulation validated that B7 could bind to ***,western blot analysis demonstrated that B7 induced apoptosis with an increased expression of Bax and caspase 3 cleaving as well as a decreasing expression of Bcl-2 in HepG2 *** together,our study identified B7 as a novel NTCP inhibitor with anti-proliferation activities which might provide a new opportunity for HCC therapy.
