Surface pore tension and adsorption characteristics of polluted sediment

Most natural sediment particles have numerous pores and a complex surface texture which facilitates their adsorption of contaminants. Particle surface structure,therefore,is an important instrumental factor in the transport of contaminants,especially in water environments. This paper reports on the results of adsorption-desorption experiments to analyze polluted sediment surface pore tension characteristics performed on samples from the bottom of Guanting Reservoir. In our analysis,the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill(FHH) equation is applied to calculate the fractal dimensions of particles to quantify the surface roughness and pore tension characteristics. The results show that the surface fractal dimensions of sediment particle surfaces normally measure from 2.6 to 2.85. The volume of pores smaller than 10 nm changes significantly after being contaminated with pollutants and the fractal dimension decreases because the pores adsorb the contaminants.

A velocity formula is proposed for flow over a mobile sediment bed induced by velocity-skewed waves and current. The formula is obtained by a separation of waves and current velocities and requires seven free variables related to free stream velocity and sediment characteristics. The formula includes two parts:(1) a wave part consisting of the free stream velocity and defect function, which considers phase lead, wave boundary layer thickness, and mobile bed level, and(2) a current part, which changes the wave part through the boundary layer thickness and mobile bed level, influenced by wave eddy *** wave part is superior to the current part such that the boundary layer characteristics are mainly determined by the waves. The wave process is divided into four quarter stages to model the asymmetries of parameters in velocity and acceleration. Under velocity-skewed waves and current conditions, velocity asymmetry and residual velocity are accounted for in the formula, especially the offshore residual velocity with a large phase lag and mobile bed effect with a small phase lag. Phase lead is shown to be nonconstant in velocity-skewed oscillatory sheet flow and corresponds to an extra offshore residual velocity.

Fluvial processes and their impact on the finless porpoise's habitat after the Three Gorges Project became operational

Since the filling of the reservoir of the Three Gorges Project(TGP)dam in the Yangtze River in 2003,erosion downstream from the dam site has affected the finless porpoise’s *** this study,a one-dimensional(1D)fluvial process mathematical model is used to calculate flow and sediment transport in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,including the finless porpoise’s *** analyzing the calculation results for the water resources,suspended load,and bed materials in the finless porpoise’s habitat after the riverbed deformation,we evaluated the possible impact on this rare Yangtze River aquatic *** results show that,with the erosion of riverbed over the next 20 years,the water quantity comprising the habitat will decrease to half of its present amount,and the bed materials will be eroded to coarse grading,such that the reserve will become a gradually disappearing *** engineering measures should be used to decrease the erosion in the main channel,in case the overall erosion cannot be stemmed and controlled,to ensure an adequate water volume flows into the finless porpoise’s habitat.

Surface charge distribution of particles is the fundamental problem for adsorption and desorption between sediment and contaminant. In this paper, we take quartz sand for example to measure its micro-morphology and surface charge distribution using the phase mode of the electrical force microscope. Then the statistical relation of micro-morphology and surface charge distribution is obtained. Results show that quartz sand possesses complex surface morphology, which has great impact on the charge distribution. Positive and negative charges mostly concentrate on the saddle, convex and concave parts of the surface, while distribute less in the groove, ridge and flat parts. This experiment provides a new method for understanding the process of flocculation in coastal and estuarine zone.

Endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EndMT)is a key driver of *** glycolysis is increased in the endothelium of atheroprone areas,accompanied by elevated lactate *** lactylation,mediated by lactate,can regulate gene expression and participate in disease ***,whether histone lactylation is involved in atherosclerosis remains ***,we report that lipid peroxidation could lead to EndMT-induced atherosclerosis by increasing lactatedependent histone H3 lysine 18 lactylation(H3K18la)in vitro and in vivo,as well as in atherosclerotic patients’***,the histone chaperone ASF1A was first identified as a cofactor of P300,which precisely regulated the enrichment of H3K18la at the promoter of SNAI1,thereby activating SNAI1 transcription and promoting *** found that deletion of ASF1A inhibited EndMT and improved endothelial *** analysis based on Apoe^(KO)Asf1a^(ECKO) mice in the atherosclerosis model confirmed the involvement of H3K18la in atherosclerosis and found that endotheliumspecific ASF1A deficiency inhibited EndMT and alleviated atherosclerosis *** of glycolysis by pharmacologic inhibition and advanced PROTAC attenuated H3K18la,SNAI1 transcription,and EndMT-induced *** study illustrates precise crosstalk between metabolism and epigenetics via H3K18la by the P300/ASF1A molecular complex during EndMT-induced atherogenesis,which provides emerging therapies for atherosclerosis.

Organic scintillators that efficiently generate bright triplet excitons are of critical importance for highperformance X-ray-excited luminescence in radiation ***,the nature of triplet-singlet spinforbidden transitions in these materials often result in long-lived phosphorescence,which is undesirable for ultrafast X-ray detection and *** we demonstrate that the effect of hybridized local and charge-transfer(HLCT)excited states enables organic scintillators to exhibit highly efficient and fast radioluminescence(RL)in response to X-ray *** experimental and theoretical investigation shows that the oxidized 1,8-naphthalimide-phenothiazine dyad(OMNI-PTZ 2)with HLCT-excited states has an enhanced overlap integral of the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)on MNIπ-orbitals,and moderate donor–acceptor electron *** a result,the RL of these crystals exhibits a 61-fold increase and its monoexponential decay lifetime is three orders of magnitude faster compared to its corresponding thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)molecule MNI-PTZ *** further demonstrate the practical utility of the OMNI-PTZ 2(G)in high-performance X-ray detection and imaging,achieving an X-ray dose sensitivity of 97 nGy s−1 and an exceptional spatial resolution of 20 lp/*** study provides a promising molecular design principle for utilizing triplet excitons to develop high-efficiency and fast X-ray scintillators for the development of next-generation flexible and stretchable X-ray imaging detectors.

Inflammation-driven endothelial dysfunction is the major initiating factor in atherosclerosis,while the underlying mechanism remains ***,we report that the non-canonical stimulator of interferon genes(STING)-PKR-like ER kinase(PERK)pathway was significantly activated in both human and mice atherosclerotic ***,STING activation leads to the activation of interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF3)and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/p65,thereby facilitating IFN signals and *** contrast,our study reveals the activated non-canonical STING-PERK pathway increases scaffold protein bromodomain protein 4(BRD4)expression,which encourages the formation of super-enhancers on the proximal promoter regions of the proinflammatory cytokines,thereby enabling the transactivation of these cytokines by integrating activated IRF3 and NF-κB via a condensation ***-specific STING and BRD4 deficiency significantly decreased the plaque area and ***,this pathway is triggered by leaked mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)via mitochondrial permeability transition pore(mPTP),formed by voltage-dependent anion channel 1(VDAC1)oligomer interaction with oxidized mtDNA upon cholesterol oxidation ***,compared to macrophages,endothelial STING activation plays a more pronounced role in *** propose a non-canonical STING-PERK pathway-dependent epigenetic paradigm in atherosclerosis that integrates IRF3,NF-κB and BRD4 in inflammatory responses,which provides emerging therapeutic modalities for vascular endothelial dysfunction.

文章采用社会资本理论和技术接受模型,构建学术虚拟社区持续知识共享的结构方程模型,深入探究学术虚拟社区用户持续知识共享的关键影响因素。以科学网社区用户为调查对象,通过网络调查获得370份有效问卷,采用偏最小二乘法(PLS)对模型进行验证。研究结果表明,社会资本、感知有用性和感知易用性均对学术虚拟社区知识共享满意度具有显著的正向影响,并且知识共享的满意度显著地影响持续知识共享的意愿。

介绍了以甲基二乙醇胺作为基本原料加入各种添加剂复合调配而成的ZX-12型高效脱硫溶剂在中国石油化工股份有限公司茂名分公司催化裂化装置的试用情况。结果表明,脱除干气中的硫化氢和总硫的效果非常好,脱除率均在99．9％以上,液化石油气中的总硫可脱至150 mg／m3以下;脱前总硫含量越低,脱除率越低,总硫含量越高,脱除率也越高,总硫含量大于10 000 mg／m3时,脱除率可达99％以上。
