Higher order bulk characteristic parameters of asymmetric nuclear matter

The bulk parameters characterizing the energy of symmetric nuclear matter and the symmetry energy defined at normal nuclear density ρ0 provide important information on the equation of state (EOS) of isospin asymmetric nuclear matter. While significant progress has been made in determining some lower order bulk characteristic parameters, such as the energy E0(ρ0) and incompress ibility K0 of symmetric nuclear matter as well as the symmetry energy Esym(ρ0) and its slope parameter L, yet the higher order bulk characteristic parameters are still poorly known. Here, we analyze the correlations between the lower and higher order bulk char acteristic parameters within the framework of Skyrme Hartree-Fock energy density functional and then estimate the values of some higher order bulk characteristic parameters. In particular, we obtain J0 = (-355±95) MeV and I0 = (1473±680) MeV for the third order and fourth-order derivative parameters of symmetric nuclear matter at ρ0 and Ksym = (-100 ± 165) MeV, Jsym = (224 ± 385) MeV, Isym = (-1309 ± 2025) MeV for the curvature parameter, third-order and fourth-order derivative parameters of the symmetry energy at ρ0, using the empirical constraints on E0(ρ0), K0, Esym(ρ0), L, and the isoscalar and isovector nucleon effective masses. Furthermore, our results indicate that the three parameters E0(ρ0), K0, and J0 can reasonably characterize the EOS of symmetric nuclear matter up to 2ρ0 while the symmetry energy up to 2ρ0 can be well described by Esym(ρ0), L, and Ksym.

It is reported the results of a systematic study on planar w aveguides fabricated in Y-cut MgO∶LiNbO 3 crystal. The index profile of the as-exchanged waveguide can be modeled as a step-like one. It is deduced the diffusion coefficient and the activation energy for the proton exchange process. The surface index increases Δn e of around 0.127 after proton exchange can be reduced by post thermal annealing. The effects of the annealing on the index profile and guide depth were found not as fast as it does on a pure LiNbO 3 crystal.

In this work we devise an algebraic method to uniformly construct rational form solitary wave solutionsand Jacobi and Weierstrass doubly periodic wave solutions of physical interest for nonlinear evolution equations. Withthe aid of symbolic computation, we apply the proposed method to solving the (1+1)-dimensional dispersive long wavethe (1+1)-dmensional dispesive long wavedelliptic donbly periodc wave solutions as special cases.

A multi-physics hybrid numerical model,which couples electric,magnetic,thermal and flow fields,was used to investigate electromagnetic stirring behavior in a resistance spot weld *** differences of two kinds of different excitation inputs,i.e.,a sinusoidal current and its root-mean-square(RMS) value,were studied to examine if they could produce equivalent electromagnetic stirring effects in the weld *** showed that the two types of current inputs could produce almost identical fluid flow and heat transfer patterns and consistent evolution of flow and thermal fields in the *** the end of the welding cycles,the maximum flow velocity and temperature between the two inputs differed by 11.6% and 0.3%,***,the RMS current can be assumed to produce an approximately equivalent electromagnetic stirring effect with the sinusoidal current,and can be used in the future research to greatly improve the solution efficiency of the electromagnetic stirring behavior in the resistance spot weld nugget.

We generalize the algebraic method presented by Fan [***.A:***.36 (2003) 7009)] to uniformlyconstruct a series of soliton-like solutions and double-llke periodic solutions for nonlinear partial differential equations(NPDE),As an application of the method,we choose a (2.1)-dimensional asymmetric Nizhnik-Novikov-Vesselov equa-tion and successfully construct new and more general solutions including a series of nontraveling wave and coefficientfunctions’ soliton-like solutions,double-like periodic and trigonometric-like function solutions.

Determination of Density Dependence of Nuclear Matter Symmetry Energy in HIC’s

Heavy-ion reactions induced by neutron-rich nuclei and the neutron skin thickness of heavy nuclei provide a unique means to investigate the equation of state of isospin asymmetric nuclear matter,especially the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry *** review the recent progress on the determination of the density dependence of symmetry energy from both heavy ion reactions and nuclear *** particular,using a novel correlation analysis,which allows us to explore transparently the correlation between observables of finite nuclei and nuclear matter properties within the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock approach, we find that the existing neutron skin data of Sn isotopes can give important constraints on the value E（ρ） and its density slope L of the nuclear symmetry energy at saturation densityρ.Combining these constraints from nuclear structure with those from recent analyses of isospin diffusion and double neutron/proton ratio in heavy ion reactions at intermediate energies leads to a quite accurate value of L = 58±18 MeV approximately independent of E（ρ）.This result allows us to rule out a number of nuclear effective interactions and also has important ramifications in neutron star physics.
