Relationship over southern China between the summer rainfall induced by tropical cyclones and that by monsoon

This study investigates the relationship between tropical cyclone-induced precipitation（P_（TC）） and summer monsoon-induced precipitation（P_（SM）） in southern China（SC） during *** spatial patterns of the first interannual mode are uniform in sign over SC,with positive anomalies for P_（TC） and negative anomalies for P_（SM）.The background of an increase in cyclonic vorticity,an increase in RH,and a decrease in vertical wind shear over the South China Sea（SCS）-western north Pacific（WNP） provides favorable conditions for more TC *** positive equatorial central Pacific SST anomaly and negative North Indian Ocean SST anomaly contribute to the anomalous cyclone over the SCS-WNP,which causes decreasing P_（SM） in SC together with an anomalous anticyclone over eastern *** contrast,whilst the spatial patterns of the first interdecadal mode are also uniform in sign over SC,there are positive anomalies for both P_（TC） and P_（SM）.The first interdecadal principal component features significant positive correlation with the number of TCs forming in the *** is a significant increase in P_（TC） and P_（SM） after early 1990 s.A positive tropical Indian Ocean（TIO） SST anomaly persists from the preceding winter to *** the preceding winter and spring after the early 1990 s,a positive western Pacific SST anomaly can result in TIO SST warming through vertical ***,the positive TIO SST anomaly triggers an anomalous WNP anticyclone and contributes to the interdecadal increase in SC P_（SM） in the succeeding *** persistent heating source over SC from May to summer related to an earlier onset of the SCS monsoon may strengthen the East Asian subtropical summer monsoon.

Stable hydrogen isoscape in precipitation generated using data fusion for East China

The stable hydrogen isotope in precipitation is an effective environmental tracer for climatic and hydrologic ***,accurate and high-precision precipitation hydrogen isoscapes are currently unavailable in *** this study,a data fusion method based on Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)is used to fuse the hydrogen isotopic composition(δ^(2)H_(p))of observations and isotope-equipped general circulation model(iGCM)simulations.A precipitation hydrogen isoscape with a temporal resolution of monthly and a spatial resolution of 50-60 km is established for East China for the 1969-2017 *** to building the isoscape,the performance of three data fusion methods(DFMs)and two bias correction methods(BCMs)is *** results indicate that the CNN fusion method performs the best with a correlation coefficient larger than 0.90 and root mean square error smaller than 10.5‰ when using observation as a *** fusion methods based on back propagation and long short-term memory neural network perform similarly,while slightly outperforming the bias correction ***,the CNN method is used to generate the hydrogen isoscape,and the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the hydrogen isotope in precipitation are analyzed based on this *** generated isoscape shows similar spatial and temporal distribution characteristics to *** general,the distribution pattern of δ^(2)H_(p) is consistent with the temperature effect in northern China,and consistent with the precipitation amount effect in southern *** trend of the δ^(2)H_(p) time series is consistent with that of observed precipitation and ***,the generated isoscape effectively reproduces the observations,and has the characteristics of time continuity and relative spatial regularity,which can provide valuable data support for tracking atmospheric and hydrological processes.

The characteristics of sea surface temperature anomalies （SSTAs） in the tropical oceans and their influences on the onset of South China Sea summer monsoon （SCSSM） have been *** anomaly of SST in tropical Pacific Ocean exerts persistence impact for one to three months on atmospheric *** the warm pool becomes anomalously warmer during an earlier period from February to April,the SCSSM breaks out earlier,and vice *** value decomposition （SVD） and composite analysis have shown that,in La Ni（n）a pattern,the convection over Western Pacific will occur earlier and be stronger than normal,which favors the convergence at a lower layer over Western Pacific,as well as the strengthening of upwelling branch of Walker circulation,leading to an earlier burst of westerly in the southern South China ***,the convection in Sumatra appears earlier than normal and favors the westerly evolution in eastern Indian Ocean,resulting in the splitting of the subtropical high belt and an early onset of ***,the atmospheric circulation anomaly is reversed in El Ni（n）o pattern.

Effect of slag composition on kinetic behavior of deep deoxidation of 5 wt.% Si high-silicon austenitic stainless steel

Based on a thermodynamic study of 5 wt.%Si high-silicon austenitic stainless steel(SS-5Si)smelting using CaF_(2)-CaO-Al_(2)0_(3)-Mg-Si0_(2) slag to obtain a low oxygen content of less than 10×10^(-4) wt.%,a kinetic mass transfer model for deep deoxidation was established through laboratory studies,and the effects of slag components and temperature on deoxidation during the slag-steel reaction process of sS-5Si were systematically *** experimental data verified the accuracy of the model *** results showed that the final oxygen content in the steel at 1873 K was mainly controlled by the oxygen content derived from the activity of SiO_(2) regulated by the[Si]-[O]equilibrium reaction in the slag system;in particular,when the slag basicity R(R=w(CaO)/w(SiO2),where w(CaO)and w(SiO_(2))are the contents of CaO and SiO_(2) in the slag,respectively)is 3,the Al2O3 content in the slag needs to be less than 2.7%.The mass transfer rate equation for the kinetics of the deoxidation reaction revealed that the mass transfer of oxygen in the liquid metal is the rate-controlling step under different slag conditions at 1873 K,and the oxygen transfer coefficient ko.m increases with increasing the slag basicity from 4.0×10^(-6)m s^(-1)(R=1)to 4.3×10^(-5) m s^(-1)(R=3).ko.m values at R=2 and R=3 are almost the same,indicating that high slag basicity has little *** integral of the mass transfer rate equation for the deoxidation reaction of SS-5Si under different slag conditions is *** total oxygen content of the molten steel decreases with increasing basicity from an initial content of 22×10^(-4) to 3.2×10^(-4) wt.%(R=3),consistent with the change in ko.m with slag *** R=2,the slag-steel reaction takes 15 min to reach equilibrium(w[O]=5.5×10^(-4) wt.%),whereas at R=3,the slag-steel reaction takes 30 min to reach equilibrium(w[0]=3.2×10^(-4) wt.%).Considering the depth of deoxidation and reaction time of SS-5Si smelting,it is recommended the slag b

The nitrile butadiene rubber(NBR)hardness effect on the sealing characteristics of hydraulic O-ring rod seals is analyzed based on a mixed lubrication elastohydrodynamic *** studies are conducted to reveal the mechanism of the influence of rubber hardness on the static and dynamic behavior of *** optimized selections of rubber hardness are then investigated under different *** show that the low hardness seal is prone to stress concentration due to the extrusion effect under high pressure conditions;it is also more prone to leaking.A high hardness seal can better prevent leakage by reducing film thickness but it will cause large frictional power loss and increase the probability of wear *** choice of low hardness is recommended to reduce friction with the premise that leakage requirements are met.

UAV-assisted data collection for wireless sensor networks with dynamic working modes

Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a cornerstone of Internet of Things(IoT)and has rich application *** this work,we consider a heterogeneous WSN whose sensor nodes have a diversity in their Residual Energy(RE).In this work,to protect the sensor nodes with low RE,we investigate dynamic working modes for sensor nodes which are determined by their RE and an introduced energy ***,we employ an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)to collect the stored data from the heterogeneous *** aim to jointly optimize the cluster head selection,energy threshold and sensor nodes’working mode to minimize the weighted sum of energy con-sumption from the WSN and UAV,subject to the data collection rate *** this end,we propose an efficient search method to search for an optimal energy threshold,and develop a penalty-based successive convex approximation algorithm to select the cluster *** we present a low-complexity iterative approach to solve the joint optimization problem and discuss the implementation *** results justify that our proposed approach is able to reduce the energy consumption of the sensor nodes with low RE significantly and also saves energy for the whole WSN.

Atomistic study on the microscopic mechanism of grain boundary embrittlement induced by small dense helium bubbles in iron

The helium bubbles induced by 14 MeV neutron irradiation can cause intergranular fractures in reduced activation ferritic martensitic steel,which is a candidate structural material for fusion *** order to elucidate the susceptibility of different grain boundaries(GBs)to helium-induced embrittlement,the tensile fracture processes of 10 types of GBs with and without helium bubbles in body-centered cubic(bcc)iron at the relevant service temperature of 600 K were investigated via molecular dynamics *** results indicate that in the absence of helium bubbles,the GBs studied here can be classified into two distinct categories:brittle GBs and ductile *** atomic scale analysis shows that the plastic deformation of ductile GB at high temperatures originates from complex plastic deformation mechanisms,including the Bain/Burgers path phase transition and deformation twinning,in which the Bain path phase transition is the most dominant plastic deformation ***,the presence of helium bubbles severely inhibits the plastic deformation channels of the GBs,resulting in a significant decrease in elongation at *** bubble-decorated GBs,the ultimate tensile strength increases with the increase in the misorientation ***,the coherent twin boundary∑3{112}was found to maintain relatively high fracture strength and maximum failure strain under the influence of helium bubbles.

Towards Effective Author Name Disambiguation by Hybrid Attention

Author name disambiguation(AND)is a central task in academic search,which has received more attention recently accompanied by the increase of authors and academic *** tackle the AND problem,existing studies have proposed various approaches based on different types of information,such as raw document features(e.g.,co-authors,titles,and keywords),the fusion feature(e.g.,a hybrid publication embedding based on multiple raw document features),the local structural information(e.g.,a publication's neighborhood information on a graph),and the global structural information(e.g.,interactive information between a node and others on a graph).However,there has been no work taking all the above-mentioned information into account and taking full advantage of the contributions of each raw document feature for the AND problem so *** fill the gap,we propose a novel framework named EAND(Towards Effective Author Name Disambiguation by Hybrid Attention).Specifically,we design a novel feature extraction model,which consists of three hybrid attention mechanism layers,to extract key information from the global structural information and the local structural information that are generated from six similarity graphs constructed based on different similarity coefficients,raw document features,and the fusion *** hybrid attention mechanism layer contains three key modules:a local structural perception,a global structural perception,and a feature ***,the mean absolute error function in the joint loss function is used to introduce the structural information loss of the vector *** results on two real-world datasets demonstrate that EAND achieves superior performance,outperforming state-of-the-art methods by at least+2.74%in terms of the micro-F1 score and+3.31%in terms of the macro-F1 score.
