Treatment of Donor-derived Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae Infection after Renal Transplantation with Tigecycline and Extended-infusion Meropenem

Objective Donor-derived carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)infection has recently emerged as a critical early complication after renal *** CRKP is usually sensitive to tigecycline,monotherapy with this drug is often less than *** investigated the efficacy of a combined regimen of tigecycline with high-dose,extended-infusion meropenem in the treatment of donor-derived CRKP infection after kidney *** From Jan.2016 to Dec.2017,a total of 12 CRKP isolates were detected from cultures of the organ preservation solution used for soaking the donor kidneys at our *** or possible donor-derived infection(DDI)was identified in 8 transplant *** data were retrospectively *** Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-2(KPC-2)-producing CRKP was reported to be positive in organ preservation solution cultures at 3.5±0.9 days after transplantation,leading to surgical site(n=3),urinary tract(n=4),and/or bloodstream(n=2)infections in 8 *** drug susceptibility tests showed that CRKP was sensitive to tigecycline,but resistant to *** 7 patients who received tigecycline combined with high-dose extended-infusion meropenem,DDIs were successfully *** length of hospital stay was 31(18–129)days,and the serum creatinine at discharge was 105.8±16.7µmol/*** one remaining patient who received tigecycline combined with intravenous-drip meropenem died of septic shock.A median follow-up of 43 months(33–55)showed no recurrence of new CRKP infection in the 7 surviving *** It was suggested that a prompt and appropriate combination therapy using tigecycline with high-dose extended-infusion meropenem is effective in treating donor-derived KPC-2-producing CRKP infection after renal transplantation.

Thermoelectric Properties of Ni-substituted Polycrystalline In_4Se_3

Thermoelectric （TE） materials can convert directly low-grade heat energy to electricity, and vice versa, which is highly expected to play an important role in the future energy management. The application practice demands efficient TE materials made of non-toxic and inexpensive components. Herein, we report a Ni substituted polycrystalline n-type bulk material ***3 （x = 0-0.1）. Based on density functional theory calculation, Ni tends to substitute at the In3 site in the In4Se3, which causes a monotonous unit cell volume reduction. At x=0.01, Ni substitution results in a sharp decrease in the carder concentration （he） in comparison with that of pure In4Se3, and then ne increases with the increase of Ni concentration. Ni substitution leads to a performance enhancement from 0.6 for pure In4Se3 to an optimum ZTvalue of 0.8 at 450℃.

Nanosized Rh grown on single-walled carbon nanohorns for efficient methanol oxidation reaction

Reasonable design and controllable synthesis of non-Pt catalysts with high methanol oxidation activity are regarded as a valid way to promote the large-scale com-mercial applications of direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs).Herein,we develop a convenient and cost-ef-fective approach to the successful fabrication of nanosized Rh grown on single-walled carbon nanohorns(Rh/SWCNH)as anode catalysts for *** unique architectural configuration endows the as-obtained hybrids with a series of intriguing structural merits,including large specific surface areas,abundant opened holes,optimized electronic structures,homogeneous Rh dispersion,and good electrical *** a consequence,the resulting Rh/SWCNH catalysts exhibit exceptional elec-trocatalytic properties in terms of a large electrochemically active surface area of 102.5 m^(2)·g^(-1),a high mass activity of 784.0 mA·mg^(-1),as well as reliable long-term durability towards the methanol oxidation reaction in alkaline media,thereby holding great potential as alternatives for com-mercial Pt/carbon black and Pd/carbon black catalysts.

Enhanced Mechanical Properties of Poly(arylene sulfide sulfone)Membrane by Co-electrospinning with Poly(m-xylene adipamide)

The mechanical properties of poly(arylene sulfide sulfone)(PASS) electrospun membrane were significantly enhanced by coelectrospinning with semi-aromatic nylon poly(m-xylene adipamide)(MXD6), another engineering plastic with high thermal stability and good mechanical properties. The tensile strength of PASS membrane increased with increased incorporation of MXD6, and was tripled when 20%MXD6 was incorporated. The mechanism of the mechanical property improvement is the existence of hydrogen bonding interaction between PASS and MXD6 and between adjacent fibers at the intersections. Thermal properties of the PASS/MXD6 membranes were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), which showed that the membranes could be stably utilized up to180 °C without any change in appearance and without decomposition. Contact angle measurements of all the membranes showed hydrophobic character. To demonstrate the potential applications of PASS/MXD6 blend membranes, their oil absorption capacities were evaluated with three oils of different viscosities, which proved that the PASS/MXD6 membranes are better absorbents than commercial non-woven polypropylene fibers. Therefore, PASS/MXD6 fibrous membranes produced by electrospinning have a great potential in practical applications.

Hybrid composite rods,comprised of unidirectional reinforcing carbon/glass-fiber and adhesive epoxy matrix,are viewed as promising candidates to be used in high-voltage overhead ***,before widespread application,their long-term durability needs to be *** this study,accelerated creep testing for hybrid composite rods,is presented by taking dynamic mechanical analysis tests at different *** the time-temperature superposition principle and thermal activation energy theory,the short-term creep data are combined to generate creep long-term compliance master *** the master curve,predictions can be made concerning the creep levels that will occur during the design lifetime of hybrid composite rods(i.e.,30years).It is found that after 30-year service at 120 oC,fully-cured hybrid composite rods only exhibit a slight increase in compliance(about 5%),indicating a satisfactory creep resistance at this temperature.

Bifurcation of thermocapillary convection in a shallow annular pool of silicon melt

In order to understand the nature of surface patterns on silicon melts in industrial Czochralski furnaces, we conducted a series of unsteady threedimensional numerical simulations of thermocapillary convections in thin silicon melt pools in an annular container. The pool is heated from the outer cylindrical wall and cooled at the inner wall. Bottom and top surfaces are adiabatic. The results show that the flow is steady and axisymmetric at small temperature difference in the radial direction. When the temperature difference exceeds a certain threshold value, hydrothermal waves appear and bifurcation occurs. In this case, the flow is unsteady and there are two possible groups of hydrothermal waves with different number of waves, which are characterized by spoke patterns traveling in the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions. Details of the flow and temperature disturbances are discussed and number of waves and traveling velocity of the hydro- thermal wave are determined.

目的通过对宫颈癌患者人巨细胞病毒（HCMV）临床分离株基因序列遗传变异分析,了解其与宫颈癌之间的相关性,从而为宫颈癌发病机制研究提供理论依据。方法从宫颈癌患者的细胞标本中分离HCMV,对其基因进行全长序列PCR扩增,并进行同源性比较。结果 PCR扩增HCMV基因全长序列分别为568、347、1 472、466和732bp;测序分析5个基因的突变均由碱基替换所引起,并且UL83基因第18、231位氨基酸的突变位点都是具有诱导CTL抗原决定簇反应能力的表位区,而UL32,UL44,UL137和UL145基因序列具有高度保守性,初步推测UL83基因CTL表位突变情况可能与宫颈癌患者HCMV感染有关联;同源性比较显示,HCMV基因与HCMV AD169株、Merlin株、Towne株同源性为97%-100%。结论 UL83基因的突变可能是导致HCMV感染的主要原因,且其第18、231位氨基酸的突变位点都是具有诱导CTL抗原决定簇反应能力的表位区,因此认为UL83基因CTL表位突变可能与宫颈癌患者HCMV感染有关联。

Novel linear search for support vector machine parameter selection

Selecting the optimal parameters for support vector machine (SVM) has long been a hot research topic. Aiming for support vector classification/regression (SVC/SVR) with the radial basis function (RBF) kernel, we summarize the rough line rule of the penalty parameter and kernel width, and propose a novel linear search method to obtain these two optimal parameters. We use a direct-setting method with thresholds to set the epsilon parameter of SVR. The proposed method directly locates the right search field, which greatly saves computing time and achieves a stable, high accuracy. The method is more competitive for both SVC and SVR. It is easy to use and feasible for a new data set without any adjustments, since it requires no parameters to set.
