Clinical and multimodal imaging features of acute macular neuroretinopathy lesions following recent SARS-CoV-2 infection

AIM:To describe the clinical characteristics of eyes using multimodal imaging features with acute macular neuroretinopathy(AMN)lesions following severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)***:Retrospective case series *** December 18,2022 to February 14,2023,previously healthy cases within 1-week infection with SARS-CoV-2 and examined at Tianjin Eye Hospital to confirm the diagnosis of AMN were included in the *** 5 males and 9 females[mean age:29.93±10.32(16-49)y]were presented for reduced vision,with or without blurred *** patients underwent best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure,slit lamp microscopy,indirect ***,multimodal imagings fundus photography(45°or 200°field of view)was performed in 7 cases(14 eyes).Near infrared(NIR)fundus photography was performed in 9 cases(18 eyes),optical coherence tomography(OCT)in 5 cases(10 eyes),optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)in 9 cases(18 eyes),and fundus fluorescence angiography(FFA)in 3 cases(6 eyes).Visual field was performed in 1 case(2 eyes).RESULTS:Multimodal imaging findings data from 14 patients with AMN were *** eyes demonstrated different extent hyperreflective lesions at the level of the inner nuclear layer and/or outer plexus layer on OCT or *** photography(45°or 200°field of view)showed irregular hypo-reflective lesion around the fovea in 7 cases(14 eyes).OCTA demonstrated that the superficial retinal capillary plexus(SCP)vascular density,deep capillary plexus(DCP)vascular density and choriocapillaris(CC)vascular density was reduced in 9 case(18 eyes).Among the follow-up cases(2 cases),vascular density increased in 1 case with elevated BCVA;another case has vascular density decrease in one eye and basically unchanged in other *** face images of the ellipsoidal zone and interdigitation zone injury showed a low wedge-shaped reflection contour *** image mainly show the absence of th

Guaranteed transient performance based control with input saturation for near space vehicles

This paper describes the design of guaranteed transient performance based attitude control for the near space vehicle(NSV)with control input saturation using the backstepping *** improve the robust controllability of the NSV,the parameter adaptive method is used to tackle the integrated effect of unknown time-varying disturbance and control input *** on the backstepping technique and parameter estimated outputs,a robust attitude control scheme is proposed for the NSV with input saturation.A novel robust attitude control scheme is then proposed based on a prescribed performance bound(PPB)which characterizes the convergence rate and maximum overshoot of the attitude tracking *** closed-loop system stability under both the developed robust attitude control schemes is proved using Lyapunov’s method and uniformly asymptotical convergence of all closed-loop signals is ***,simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of both the proposed robust constrained attitude control schemes.

Detection of macular ganglion cell complex loss and correlation with choroidal thickness in chronic and recurrent central serous chorioretinopathy

AIM:To investigate the association of ganglion cell complex thickness(GCCt),global loss volume percentage(GLV%),and focal loss volume percentage(FLV%)with structural and functional findings among patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy(CCSC)and recurrent central serous chorioretinopathy(RCSC)by optical coherence tomography(OCT).METHODS:Among 29 patients with monocular affected central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC),15 had CCSC,and 14 had *** GCCt,FLV%,GLV%,and subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT)and sublesional choroidal thickness(SLCT)values were determined using OCT,and the association of these characteristics with neural structure parameters,choroidal morphology,features and functional alterations were estimated for the CCSC and RCSC ***:In CCSC,the affected eyes had significantly lower GCCt values than the fellow eyes in the macular regions(all P<0.05),with the highest GCCt observed in the inferior area.A significant association was found between the GCCt in different regions and the change in best corrected visual acuity(BCVA;r=-0.696;-0.695;-0.694,P<0.05)in CCSC patients.A statistically significant moderate negative correlation indicated that long-term CCSC was associated with greater differences in the GCCt in different regions between affected and fellow eyes(r=-0.562;r=-0.556;r=0.525,P<0.05).Additionally,observation of thickened SFCT was associated with a worse FLV%(r=0.599;r=0.546,P<0.05)in both ***,thickened SLCT was associated with FLV%in RCSC patients(r=0.544,P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The distribution and GCCt are associated with the duration and visual outcomes of CCSC,whereas there is no correlation among RCSC ***%may be instrumental in differentiating the various outer choroidal vessels(pachyvessels)in long-term *** results suggest that neural structure parameters may aid in estimating and predicting the recovery of altered morphology and function in CCSC and RCSC patients.

TWO-STAGE ORDERING DECISION FOR A SHORT-LIFE-CYCLE PRODUCT

This paper investigates the ordering decision problem for a short-life-cycle product under Bayesian updating. For a product characterized by a single manufacturing cycle and two selling periods, we depict a Two-Stage （TS） ordering strategy with a stochastic dynamic programming model in the view of the whole system, and prove that the expected profit function of the whole system is concave on the first ordering quantity and the remedial ordering quantity, respectively. Then, the optimal ordering decision is developed. Finally, characteristics of the optimal ordering quantities are analyzed with several examples. Our results show that the suggested TS decision model is better than a Quick Response （QR） decision model.

Comparison between several seismic inversion methods and their application in mountainous coal fields of western China

With the objective of establishing the necessary conditions for 3D seismic data from mountainous areas in western China, we compared the application results of wave impedance technology in the lithology and exploration of coal fields. First, we introduce principles and features of three kinds of inversion methods. i.e., Model-Based Inversion, Constrained Sparse Spike Inversion (CSSI) and Geology-Seismic Feature Inversion. Secondly, these inversion methods are contrasted in their application to 3D seismic data from some coalfields in western China. The main information provided by the research includes: improving the vertical resolution of coal deposit strata, inferring lateral variation of the lithology and predicting coal seams and their roof lithology. Finally, the comparison between the three methods shows that the model-based inversion has the higher resolution, while CSSI inversion has better waveform continuity. The geology-seismic feature inversion requires information from a large number of wells and many types of logging curves of good quality. All three methods can meet the requirements of seismic exploration for lithological exploration in coal fields.

Microencapsulation of Fish Oil by Simple Coacervation of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose

To improve the oxidative stability and application of fish oil, it was microencapsulated by simple coacervation followed by spray drying. Simple coacervation took place by adding malt dextrin into the emulsion of fish oil and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose （HPMC） solution. Influences of several process parameters on the microencapsulation were evaluated and the oxidative stability and microstructure of microcapsules were analyzed. Results showed that the coacervation could be observed only when dextrose equivalent value （DE value） of malt dextrin, concentration of HPMC solution and fish oil percentage in microcapsules were no more than 20. 5% and 40%, respectively. Moreover, microencapsulation efficiency was higher at HPMC solution concentration of 4% and fish oil percentage of less than 30%. The oxidative stability of fish oil was improved by the microencapsulation and done best in the ease of replacing malt dextrin by 40% with acacia. Scanning electronic microscopic photographs showed that the microcapsule obtained was a round, smooth and hollow microcapsule with its wall made up of innumerable small and solid submicrocapsules with the core of fish oil.

Nitrous oxide （N20）, a potent greenhouse gas, is emitted during nitrogen rernoval in wastewater treatment, significantly contributing to greenhouse effect. Nitrogen removal generally involves nitrification and denitrification catalyzed by specific enzymes. N20 production and consumption vary considerably in response to specific enzyme-catalyzed nitrogen imbalances, but the mechanisms are not yet completely understood. Studying the regulation of related enzymes＂ activity is essential to minimize N20 emissions during wastewater treatment. This paper aims to review the poorly understood related enzymes that most commonly involved in producing and consuming N20 in terms of their nature, structure and catalytic mechanisms. The pathways of N20 emission during wastewater treatment are briefly introduced. The key environmental factors influencing N20 emission through regulatory enzymes are summarized and the enzyme-based mechanisms are revealed. Several enzyme- based techniques for mitigating N20 emissions directly or indirectly are proposed. Finally, areas for further research on N20 release during wastewater treatment are discussed.
