Abstract:Background:The pTNM staging system is widely recognized as the most effective prognostic indicator for *** latest update of this staging system introduced a new pathological staging system(ypTNM)for patients receiving neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(NACRT).However,whether the prognostic value of the ypTNM staging system for rectal cancer is similar to that of the pTNM staging system remains *** study was conducted to compare the ypTNM and pTNM staging systems in terms of their prognostic value for patients with nonmetastatic rectal cancer undergoing *** and Methods:This study was conducted at a large teaching *** January 2014 and December 2022,542 patients with rectal cancer were analyzed(median follow-up period,60 months;range,6–105 months).Of them,258 and 284 were included in the pTNM and ypTNM groups,*** probability of treatment weighting(IPTW)was performed to account for the effects of *** proportional-hazards regression was performed for the between-group comparison of overall survival(OS).Results:The crude model revealed that OS was similar between the two groups(p=0.607).After performing IPTW,we found that patients with the same ypTNM-and pTNM-classified stages had similar overall survival(hazard ratio=1.15;95%CI=0.76–1.73;p=0.5074).Conclusions:For patients with rectal cancer who have received preoperative NACRT,the prognostic value of ypTNM staging appears to be similar to that of pTNM staging,mostly because of the downstaging effect of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy。

Biaxially oriented polypropylene(BOPP)is one of the most commonly used commercial capacitor films,but its upper operating temperature is below 105℃due to the sharply increased electrical conduction loss at high *** this study,growing an inorganic nanoscale coating layer onto the BOPP film's surface is proposed to suppress electrical conduction loss at high temperature,as well as increase its upper operating *** kinds of inorganic coating layers that have different energy band structure and dielectric property are grown onto the both surface of BOPP films,*** effect of inorganic coating layer on the high-temperature energy storage performance has been systematically *** favorable coating layer materials and appropriate thickness enable the BOPP films to have a significant improvement in high-temperature energy storage ***,when the aluminum nitride(AIN)acts as a coating layer,the AIN-BOPP-AIN sandwich-structured films possess a discharged energy density of 1.5 J cm^(-3)with an efficiency of 90%at 125℃,accompanying an outstandingly cyclic *** the discharged energy density and operation temperature are significantly enhanced,indicating that this efficient and facile method provides an important reference to improve the high-temperature energy storage performance of polymer-based dielectric films.

Diarrhea has become the leading cause of illness and death among infants and young children in developing ***,patients with diarrhea showed damaged intestinal epithelial villi,usually accompanied by lactase *** this study,we evaluated the therapeutic effects of lactose-free milk powder on rats and children with ***-associated diarrhea(AAD)model was established by gavage with antibiotic mixture in SD rats,followed by administration of milk powder containing lactose or *** results showed that lactose-free milk powder ameliorated A AD-related diarrhea symptoms,and accelerated the recovery from *** 16S sequencing results indicated lactose-free milk powder contributed to increase theα-andβ-diversity of intestinal flora,and restore the intestinal microbiota *** conclusion,our data demonstrate that lactose-free milk powder could alleviate diarrhea by restoring gut microbiota and intestinal barrier function.

In order to develop the Mg-Zn-Ag metallic glasses(MGs)for biodegradable implant applications,the glass formation ability(GFA)and biocompatibility of Mg-Zn-Ag alloys were investigated using a combination of the calculation of phase diagrams(CALPHAD)and experimental *** GFA potentiality of two alloy series,specifically Mg_(96-x)Zn_xAg_(4)and Mg_(94-x)Zn_xAg_6(x=17,20,23,26,29,32,35),was predicted theoretically and then substantiated through experimental testing.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)techniques were used to evaluate the crystallinity,GFA,and crystallization characteristics of these *** results showed that compositions between Mg_(73)Zn_(23)Ag_(4)and Mg_(64)Zn_(32)Ag_(4)for Mg_(96-x)Zn_xAg_4,Mg_(66)Zn_(28)Ag_(6)and Mg_(63)Zn_(31)Ag_(6for)Mg_(94-x)Zn_xAg_(6)displayed a superior ***,the GFA of the Mg_(96-x)Zn_xAg_(4)series was better than that of the Mg_(94-x)Zn_xAg_(6)***,the Mg_(70)Zn_(26)Ag_4,Mg_(74)Zn_(20)Ag_6,and Mg_(71)Zn_(23)Ag_(6)alloys showed acceptable corrosion rates,good cytocompatibility,and positive effects on cell *** characteristics make them suitable for applications in medical settings,potentially materials as biodegradable implants.

BACKGROUND Rectocutaneous fistulae are *** infection originates within the anal glands and subsequently extends into adjacent regions,ultimately resulting in fistula *** angiofibroma(CAF),also known as an angiomy ofibroblastoma-like tumor,is a rare benign soft tissue neoplasm predominantly observed in the scrotum,perineum,and inguinal area in males and in the vulva in *** describe the first documented case CAF that developed within a rectocutaneous fistula and manifested as a perineal *** SUMMARY In the outpatient setting,a 52-year-old male patient presented with a 2-year history of a growing perineal mass,accompanied by throbbing pain and minor scrotal *** examination revealed a soft,well-defined,non-tender mass at the left buttock that extended towards the perineum,without a visible *** initial assessment identified a soft tissue tumor,and the laboratory data were within normal *** and pelvic computed tomography(CT)revealed swelling of the abscess cavity that was linked to a rectal cutaneous fistula,with a track-like lesion measuring 6 cm×0.7 cm in the left perineal region and attached to the left *** examination found no significant inner orifices.A left medial gluteal incision revealed a thick-walled mass,which was excised along with the extending tract,and curettage was *** examination confirmed CAF *** patient achieved total resolution during follow-up assessments and did not require additional *** CT imaging supports perineal lesion diagnosis and *** angiofibromas,even with a cutaneous fistula,can be excised transperineally.

The design and development of cheap,abundant,and efficient electrocatalysts for selective CO_(2)electroreduction is highly desirable yet remains an ongoing ***,we report on our discovery of the use of two-dimensional MgO rich in oxygen vacancies(VO)as an electrocatalyst for the efficient reduction of CO_(2)to yield CO in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate dissolved in *** faradaic efficiency toward CO reaches as high as 99.6±0.24%with a current density of up to 40.8 mA cm−*** functional theory calculations illustrate that the introduction of VO in MgO substantially lowers the reaction-free energy for the transformation of ^(*)COO^(−) to ^(*)COOH,the potential determining step,which greatly boosts CO_(2)conversion *** work opens the way to realizing economic and efficient CO_(2)electrolysis of group II metals.
