Phylogenetic relationship of Podocopida (Ostracoda: Podocopa) based on 18S ribosomal DNA sequences

Nucleotide sequences from 18S rDNA of 11 ostracodes, which represent four suborders and six superfamilies of podocopidan, were determined. The phylogenetic relationships were analyzed based on three kinds of methods (maximum-likelihood, maximum-parsimony, and neighbor-joining), and the three topologies gained were basically similar. The results have showed that (1) a monophyletic Podocopida was supported strongly; (2) the phylogenetic relationships of four suborders were (Darwinulocopina plus (Bairdiocopina plus (Cytherocopina plus Cypridocopina))), which indicated that a close relationship between Cytherocopina and Cypridocopina, and Darwinulocopina had separated early from the main podocopinan; (3) Cypridocopinan formed a monophyletic group, among which the phylogenetic relationship of three superfamilies was (Cypridoidea plus (Macrocypridoidea plus Pontocypridoidea)).

Monodispersed magnetite Fe3O4 and hematite α-Fe2O3 nanocrystals have been grown in co-solvents of alcohol and water. Either the shape or the size of the nanocrystals could be easily controlled. Both the phases and nanostructures have been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction patterns and electron microscopy. The magnetic and catalytic properties of these products were investigated and compared with each other. The obtained results clearly demonstrate that these iron oxide nanocrystals are soft ferromagnetic at room temperature and α-Fe2O3 has a more effective catalytic property on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate than Fe3O4. Based on the experimental data, it is proposed that the magnetic and catalytic properties of these nanocrystals are dependent not only on the size and shape, but also on the surface structure of the nanocrystals. The nanoplates with significant anisotropic nanostructure demonstrate a highly enhanced performance as compared to nanoparticles.

For decades, the main threat to the water security of a metropolis, such as the city of Shanghai, has been the rapidly growing demand for water and at the same time, the decrease in water quality, including eutrophica- tion. Therefore Shanghai shifted the preferred freshwater source to the Yangtze Estuary and constructed the Qingcaosha Reservoir, which is subject to less eutrophic water from the Yangtze River. To assess the population of phytoplankton for the first time in the newly built reservoir, this study improved an integrated method to assess the phytoplankton pattern in large-water-area reservoirs and lakes, using partial triadic analysis and Geographic Information Systems. Monthly sampling and monitoring from 10 stations in the reservoir from July 2010 to December 2011 were conducted. The study examined the common pattern of the phytoplankton population structure and determined the differences in the specific composition of the phytoplankton community during the transition period of the reservoir. The results suggest that in all but three sampling stations in the upper parts of Qingcaosha Reservoir, there was a strong common compromise in 2011. The two most important periods occurred from late summer to autumn and from winter to early spring. The former was characterized by the dominance of cyanobac- teria, whereas the latter was characterized by the dominance of both chlorophyta and diatoms. Cyanobac- teria （Microcystis spp. as the main genus） were the monopolistic dominant species in the summer after reservoir operation. The statistical analysis also indicated the necessity for regular monitoring to focus on the stations in the lower parts of the reservoir and on several limited species.

This study evaluated the median lethal concentration （LC50） and safe concentration of water-borne ammonia, phosphate and pH value on Physocypria kraepelini, a freshwater Ostracoda with a static renewal test system. The results indicated that the LC50 values of ammonia for P. kraepelini were 1026.71, 859.98, 771.79 and 583.82 mg/L at 24, 48, 72 and 96 h exposure, respectively, and the safe concentration range of ammonia for the long-term survival of P. kraepelini was less than 58.38 mg/L. The safe range of pH value for the survival of P. kraepelini was from 6.59 to 7.61. P. kraepelini has a high tolerance to ammonia, phosphate and pH value which are the main environmental factors in the serious eutrophication water.

目的探讨外周血中T淋巴细胞、炎症细胞因子与卵巢子宫内膜异位症(OMs)的相关性及诊断价值。方法选取2020年10月—2022年6月我院收治行开腹或腹腔镜手术经病理确诊OMs患者72例为观察组,根据修正子宫内膜异位症分期(r-AFS)分为I~II期37例,III~IV期35例,另选取同期术后诊断为单纯性卵巢囊肿或良性畸胎瘤的患者72例为对照组。利用流式细胞检测法检测外周血中T淋巴细胞(CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)、CD4^(+)/CD8^(+))、炎症细胞因子(IL-2、IL-4、IL-6、IL-10、IL-17A、IFN-γ和TNF-α含量),收集相关临床资料进行单因素及Logistic多因素回归分析讨论OMs影响因素,I~II、III~IV期EMs患者中比较外周血独立影响指标CD4^(+)、TNF-α表达差异。ROC曲线评估CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)和TNF-α3项指标单独及联合对OMs的诊断效能。结果CD8^(+)、IL-2、IL6、IL-10、TNF-α、月经初潮年龄6天、痛经、人流手术或宫腔操作史和剖宫产史为OMs危险因素,CD4^(+)及CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)为OMs保护因素;CD8^(+)、TNF-α、经期天数>6天、痛经和人流手术或宫腔操作史为OMs独立危险因素,CD4^(+)为OMs独立保护因素;I~II、III~IV期OMs CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)和TNF-α差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)与TNF-α联合检测可提高OMs诊断效能。结论外周血T淋巴细胞亚群、炎症细胞因子在OMs发生中发挥着一定作用,CD4^(+)、CD8^(+)和TNF-α参与疾病进展且3者联合检测在OMs诊断方面可能具有较高应用价值。

Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases(PDKs)-pyruvate dehydrogenase E1αsubunit(PDHE1α)axis plays an important role in regulating glucose metabolism in ***,the regulatory function of PDKsPDHE1α axis in the glucose metabolism of fish is not well *** study determined whether PDKs inhibition could enhance PDHE1αactivity,and improve glucose catabolism in *** tilapia fingerlings(1.90±0.11 g)were randomly divided into 4 treatments in triplicate(30 fish each)and fed control diet without dichloroacetate(DCA)(38% protein,7% lipid and 45% corn starch)and the control diet supplemented with DCA,which inhibits PDKs through binding the allosteric sites,at 3.75(DCA3.75),7.50(DCA7.50)and 11.25 g/kg(DCA11.25),for 6 *** results showed that DCA3.75,DCA7.50 and DCA11.25significantly increased weight gain,carcass ratio and protein efficiency ratio(P<0.05)and reduced feed efficiency(P<0.05)of Nile *** investigate the effects of DCA on growth performance of Nile tilapia,we selected the lowest dose DCA3.75 for subsequent *** tilapia fed on DCA3.75significantly reduced the mesenteric fat index,serum and liver triglyceride concentration and total lipid content in whole fish,and down-regulated the expressions of genes related to lipogenesis(P<0.05)compared to the *** DCA3.75 treatment significantly improved glucose oxidative catabolism and glycogen synthesis in the liver,but significantly reduced the conversion of glucose to lipid(P<0.05).Furthermore,the DCA3.75 treatment significantly decreased the PDK2/4 gene and protein expressions(P<0.05),accordingly stimulated PDHE1αactivity by decreasing the phosphorylated PDHE1αprotein *** addition,DCA3.75 treatment significantly increased the phosphorylated levels of key proteins involved in insulin signaling pathway and glycogen synthase kinase 3β(P<0.05).Taken together,the present study demonstrates that PDK2/4 inhibition by using DCA promotes glucose utilization in Nile tilapia by activating PDHE1αan

A two-factor(23)orthogonal testwas conducted to investigate the effects of dietary myo-inositol(MI)on the osmoregulation and carbohydrate metabolism of euryhaline fish tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)under sustained hypertonic stress(20 practical salinity units[psu]).6 diets containing either normal carbohydrate(NC,30%)or high carbohydrate(HC,45%)levels,with 3 levels(0,400 and 1,200 mg/kg diet)of MI,respectively,were fed to 540 fish under 20 psu for 8 *** MI supplementation significantly improved growth performance and crude protein content of whole fish,and decreased the content of crude lipid of whole fish(P<0.05).Curled,disordered gill lamella and cracked gill filament cartilage were observed in the gill of fish fed diets without MI *** ion transport capacity in gill was significantly improved in the 1,200 mg/kg MI supplementation groups compared with the 0 mg/kg MI groups(P<0.05).Moreover,the contents of Na^(+),K^(+),Cl^(-)in serum weremarkedly reduced with the dietary MI supplementation(P<0.05).The fish fed 1,200 mg/kg MI supplementation had the highest MI content in the gills and the lowest MI content in the serum(P<0.05).Additionally,the fish fed with 1,200 mg/kg MI supplementation had the highest MI synthesis capacity in gills and brain(P<0.05).Dietary MI markedly promoted the ability of carbohydrate metabolism in liver(P<0.05).Moreover,fish in the 1,200 mg/kg MI groups had the highest antioxidant capacity(P<0.05).This study indicated that high dietary carbohydrate would intensify stress,and impair the ability of osmoregulation in tilapia under a long-term hypersaline *** supplementation of MI at 1,200 mg/kg in the high carbohydrate diet could promote carbohydrate utilization and improve the osmoregulation capacity of tilapia under long-term hypertonic stress.

A comparison between benthic gillnet and bottom trawl for assessing fish assemblages in a shallow eutrophic lake near the Changjiang River estuary

Two fishing methods including gillnetting and trawling to estimate attributes of fish assemblage were compared in Dianshan Lake from August 2009 to July 2010. Species composition dif fered significantly between the gears, with four significant contributors in gillnet catches and one in trawl catches. Trawling collected more proportions of benthic species by number and biomass than gillnetting. Size distribution was significantly influenced by fishing technique; gillnetting captured relatively less small-sized fishes and trawling captured less large-sized individuals. Trawling produced species richness closer to the one expected than gillnetting. On the whole, trawl catch was a quadratic polynomial function of gillnet catch and a significantly negative correlation was found between them, both of which varied as dif ferent polynomial functions of temperature. However, trawl and gillnet catches were significantly correlated only in one of five month groups. It is concluded that single-gear-based surveys can be misleading in assessments of attributes of fish assemblages, bottom trawling is a more ef fective gear for assessing fish diversity than benthic gillnetting, and using gillnet catches as an indicator of fish density depends on fishing season in the lake.
